Avatar f tn t matter if it made me crash, and it was still helpful in controlling daytime nausea. Maybe you could try that? Or are you taking it twice a day already?
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar f tn I just started treatment with Telaprevit. 2 days in and I have begun getting nausea so bad I end up vomiting. I am worried I am hurting my dosage of medication. I have Phenergan and I am not sure exactly when to take it, when I eat the 20 mg. of fat or right before the meds. Many help is appreciated.
1048927 tn?1271834011 ask if your doctor will prescribe you diclectin for the nausea. it is a mix of vitamin b6 and an antihistamine, which has been used for over 50 yrs here in canada. i've been on it for the past month and it has really helped with my nausea, though it does make you drowsy when you first start taking it. also, it is pretty expensive, but very worth it from my perspective. i highly recommend it. good luck!
Avatar m tn For the first time I tried Flaxseed oil in a pill form, a small amount 1,000mg with food thinking it was healthy. About 20 minutes after I had it my stomach started cramping up and nausea, asthma and mucus in my nose. Not sure if the asthma might have been trigged by the nausea but my inhaler reversed it. Still feeling pretty sick. It's been about 35 minutes and not feeling well, not at all. My stomach muscles just want to throw up and are staying really tight.
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
959034 tn?1253671476 a doctor or pharmacist can probably give you a much better idea of how it is typically dosed for anti-emetic purposes. Dramamine is also an antihistamine I believe, but is marketed for nausea (specific to motion-sickness, I believe). At any rate, it might also be worth a shot if you haven't tried that.
9156053 tn?1406059654 I had super bad nausea in my first trimester and took zofran during the day and promethazine at night. It worked great that way I didn't wake up naucious and throwing my guts up. It defiantly does make you sleepy though because I slept like a baby in my first trimester.
Avatar n tn s to have excessive mucus, is there something over the counter that can cut it down? My baby is a chug and she is miserable at night. She licks and licks just air. It is like she has this stuff on her tongue and she can't get rid of it. She only weighs 9 pounds so I have to be careful what I give her. Thanks for any ideas.
Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I personally take a claritin everyday. I have seasonal allergies and pet dander makes my eyes and face really itchy. My Dr OKed it and said its totally safe. Hope this helps.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
7205189 tn?1447794738 I know when my reflux is flaring I tend to have issues with red meats and eggs....different things will cause me more issues and as you mentioned nausea....I try to really pay attention to my GI track and how I feel and I avoid certain foods on days when I can tell I will have an issue as I am ok some days.... The thing is we need protein...so talk with your Dr about what may be going on....
Avatar f tn Now, Vistaril is an antiemetic (helps with nausea) and antihistamine (helps with allergies). It also causes drowsiness. I guess if you wanted to, you could become addicted to it, but i highly doubt it. Ive never heard of anyone being addicted to it. It gives you a severe dry mouth, and makes you really sleepy.
Avatar n tn Im 25 years old and i am 6 weeks pregnant, my first, I know I am just starting this journey and I know this may be normal, but I can't deal with the morning sickness and nausea, to the point that i cant get up in the morning or work, and on top of that ive always had gastric issues, any good remedies for it? I know this may be normal but I'm scared as **** and I'm basically alone here...
906115 tn?1344200509 The med was called Bendectin. Here is a little blip I found on www.babycenter.com: You may have also heard of Bendectin (which combines an antihistamine with vitamin B6). This drug was once widely used in the United States to treat morning sickness, but controversy over its safety during pregnancy despite no scientific evidence that it was harmful forced the company to pull it from the market. (These days, it's only available in Canada under the name Dicletin.
1747881 tn?1546175878 Promethazine also prevents motion sickness, and treats nausea and vomiting or pain after surgery. It is also used as a sedative or sleep aid.
Avatar n tn If you experienced difficulty of breathing in the past, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. If it is an allergic reaction, identification of the trigger and antihistamine medications may help. An allergy test may also help identify cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
351404 tn?1299489130 Had an eczema with itching outbreak on forehead area and took a Benadryl antihistamine pill. Fine for 24 hours, then took another and that night had a three hour AFib episode. I remember about 20 years ago, I last took an antihistamine and got flutters. Is there a connection between AFib and antihistamine, ie have others an opinion or experience of this?
Avatar f tn I also completely changed my diet since June of 2012. I was so fatigued at that time, taking naps every day, no energy. At that time, I didn't know anything about POTS. I was short of breath and felt I was just out of shape so Slowly began exercising and changed my diet. After a few months I started feeling better and lost 20 lbs. I am at my ideal weight now. Then in November 2012, my sister came to visit, I stopped exercising and wasn't eating correctly.
494672 tn?1254152672 Another one I just remembered is Benadry. Though this is an antihistamine, I find this helps me sleep and helps with nauseu. It is a safe medication too. It will make you a bit sleepy.
Avatar f tn I also kept a fan at work to help stay cool, and wearing comfortable clothing. I was taking an antihistamine to help with the itching, but the antihistamine cause more dehydration, so the these symptoms were elevated. I have since quit taking the antihistamine, and the symptoms are more manageable. After all of my experiences with these treatments, drinking the recommended amount of water is vital to feeling better, and eating enough will help with feeling better (even when nausea strikes).
Avatar f tn You were given pain medication, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and antipsychotic/tranqulizer. You may experience gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and sedative effects. However, it is important that any sign of allergic reaction such as difficulty of breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. twitching or tremor will warrant immediate attention. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Ok.. so I was REALLY having alot of trouble with the nausea and dizziness part of detox. A long time ago, I have this inner ear prob and the doc told me to take Meclazine. It is a very very cheap antihistamine with antiemetic (anti-nausea) properties. So, I sent the dear hubby to the store to fetch me some. It is now over the counter and does not require an Rx. It is also the active ingredient in alot of motion sickness meds.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was bitten by a wasp yesterday at about 12 noon, I immediately put ice on the area and took some benedryl.
