Veramyst™ (fluticasone furoate) is a nasal inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and, strictly speaking, not an antihistamine. I am allergic to benadryl (antihistamine) and my condition got way worse when I took it and had allergic reactions. Maybe my body started producing more histamine as a result?

Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. Covering the affected area with bandages and dressings can help protect the skin and prevent scratching.

I have got a problem. My finger and toe tips get very itchy every winter. This happens whenever I get them wet or when it gets extremly cold. What could be the problem? Please help.
Then finaly dermatologist suggested that it can be delayed alergy reaction from the bite and I received Antihistamine and corticosteroids shots and everything was gone in 15 minutes... 24 hours after the shots the swellings came back. Antihistamine pills did not help at all. It is caused due to release of histamine and histamine like products in the blood .The causes are infections, medications, bee/wasp stings, food allergies, environmental allergies, stress, cold temperatures etc. Sometimes the causes are idiopathic. The symptoms of STDs include warts, ulcers, yellow or white vaginal/penile discharge, burning with urination, pelvic pain, bleeding between periods, testicular pain and joint pain etc. You do not seem to have any of these symptoms.

5 inches around injection and itchy! Been itchy ever since swelling started to reduce. Antihistamine helps with the itch. May not want another Tetanus shot after this one. Once the swelling came down I was able to gain more movement of my arm. I have had allergic reactions to wasp stings and it never swelled up like this. Even allergy testing got all red and swollen, but not nearly comparable to the swelling of the Tetanus shot.

Hi & Welcome....She's already taking an antihistamine (I would not add more).....Temaril-P is a combination drug consisting of antihistamine & a steriod. What I think she needs is LASIX (For the fluid retention). Normally for heart failure, Lasix are prescribed along with the heart meds. and can be given 1-3 times a day depending on the severity of the congestion. Once, the fluid is off her lungs, the cough and congestion will improve greatly.
Histamine is an immune chemical but it is also a neurotransmitter and is associated with a more hyped up state. E.g., diphenhydramine is sold as an antihistamine for allergies (Benadryl) but also as a sleeping pill (Sominex). So your enlarged nodes might have a common causation with your anxiety.
