angiogram

Avatar n tn My husband has been expriencing a very tight chest (not really painful) and pain on the right side of his neck. About a week and a half ago while at work he suddenly lost his breath and could not get it back for about 3 or 4 minutes. He was admitted into the hospital E.R and they did an EKG, and echocardiogram and a stress test and said that all 3 were normal as well as all of the extensive blood work they drew. His primary care Dr.
Avatar m tn had angiogram done back in april of 2014, everything looked good.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar f tn If a artery is completely clogged on the right side of neck that supplies blood to the brain, can anything be done for this condition
Avatar f tn When he comes round his Headache is worse, his Nystagmus is really bad, he is very Dizzy and Uncoordinated and the tunnel sounds last for awhile. I just took him in for an Angiogram where they had him move his head to the point of when he feels his symptoms the Angiogram turned out okay, but he pass out. The Dr. said he kept call my husbands name with no response and he was rubbing his knuckles on his chest with no response at first then he came round.
Avatar f tn What is the difference between a CT angiogram and a heart catheritization. Which is better? I had a CTA of the aortic arch and neck. I've been having discomfort for weeks but the CTA was fine. I also have moderate mitral valve regurg which the doctor said does not need repairing. So I am confused as to what test give the best information for blockages,etc....
Avatar f tn has ordered is a CT angiogram to check arteries, etc. I am very worried about the exposure of radiation that this test gives off. I also had a CTA of the Aortic Arch and Head back in 2009 when my doctor was worried about a carotid bruit that he kept hearing in my right neck. That test proved ok and it was determined that the bruit was coming from my mitral valve regurgitation that was radiating sound up to the carotids.
Avatar f tn Since your son gets headaches after running, it is important to rule out clots in his carotids or jugular vein. An angiogram of the neck blood vessels and a duplex ultrasound is done to rule this out. Other than this it can be a normal anatomical variation. However, a child should not get headaches on running—this does indicate a compromised blood flow to brain. Please consult your child's pediatrician for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar n tn Firstly I only know of one Carotid artery on each side of the neck, not two. I would question why he said this. I think basically what has turned events is the fact that the blockage on the left side has been seen as too much of a risk to leave alone. With no blood supplied from the right, if the left blocks then death is imminent. I have found through experience that a Cardiologist will not say he can do something if he cannot.
649926 tn?1297657780 is sending me for a cerebral angiogram and wants to re-evaluate the M.S diagnosis. Could all of these symptoms / tests be one disease and if not what are your thoughts like why the angiogram? Please help, I feel like I am back at ground zero. Thank you for your time and input.
Avatar n tn I have had an ECG stress test and a Myoview scan, both of which have shown an abnormal result. I now have to decide whether to have an angiogram but am worried about the risks involved. My cardiologist doesn't seem to think that any problems I have are too severe and that in fact there's a chance that both tests could be giving false positive results. I wondered whether cardiac MRI or cardiac computed tomography are a viable alternative to an angiogram ? Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn For years I always made a distinction by identifying chest angina with angina pec to avoid any misunderstanding. I related to inflammation of the mucous membranes of the throat, and merely making a distinction of the chest pains related angina pectoris, GERD, burning sensation in the throat, etc. and throat pain association with an infection throat membranes. Vincent's Angina ia an acute necrotizing infection of the pharynx. Sometimes called Plaunt's angina.
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
Avatar n tn For 6 mos, no chest, jaw, neck pain. Then again. Now I had a stress test positive for sepum and apex of heart. I had angiogram. It showed 4 of 5 bypasses were in tact and other had gotten some collateral circultaion. 2nd cardiologist want to get the films themselves and states the pictures themseves. the report on the one gone bad is very vague. I thought was was only one way to read an angiogram to determine if a stent is needed. I get chest pain 10-20 times a day. with 3-10 nitro on average.

Avatar n tn I did have some tests done earlier in the year. One was a speical Cardio CT Angiogram and showed some narrowing of one artery, but not blocked. I have to watch my diet and stop smoking. Recently my face has gotten red more frequently. Any exposure to sunlight or being out in the heat makes it worse. Can this be related to any of the meds I am taking? Appreciate any help.
Avatar f tn I am in physical therapy for muscle tension headaches and neck pain. I am wondering if neck issues such as a pinched nerve in the neck could be the cause of this. I feel a raw sensation in my chest and throat after exercise also.
Avatar f tn It could even be some type of reaction to relief of stress. We think of stress as being able to cause physical symptoms, and it certainly can, but sometimes just a sudden offset of stress can cause a reaction in the body. I see that it's been 16 hours now since you posted the above, so I sincerely hope that the reaction has passed or that if it has not passed, you have called your doctor.
Avatar m tn Sometimes a dye may be injected into a vein to highlight blood flow in your arteries and veins, CT angiogram and provide additional detail regarding appearance of brain aneurysm. MRI can create detailed images of your brain and show aneurysm’s location. Hope this helps. Take care.
776302 tn?1241091853 My friend was rushed to the emergency room following a rash of violent vomiting. Long story short she had an angiogram procedure done, she felt a pain in her chest and went into cardiac arrest. after 35 minutes she was brought back. The doctor said she had 2 blood clots and it magically disappeared and no surgery was needed. She is up and very well. She feels that the angiogram caused her heart to stop.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 22 and I recently got an MRA of my head & neck to ensure that some of the symptoms I have been having for almost 3 weeks now weren't from a dissected artery in the neck. They didn't find an artery dissection, but they did find a "2mm Right Supraclinoid ICA aneursym" in my brain. It's the same size as yours and on the same side. Where exactly is your aneursym? Did they think it was causing your symptoms?
Avatar f tn Thank you for the post "brokenpen". My cardiologist has told me that bruits come from the mitral valve ... he never mentioned aortic valve. My thyroid is fine. Also I had a doppler of the carotids and they were clear. I've never had the bruit until recently so it's something of new original and the doctors can't figure it out. I'm so confused. He might be sending me for a CTA (CT of head neck / angiogram) to look further. Have you ever heard of this?
Avatar m tn I agree, of course you would want an explanation of the results of an angiogram. Unfortunately, due to very busy schedules of cardiologists, this is not always possible. Surely there is an appointment with a cardiologist scheduled?
