Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram of neck and head

angiogram

Avatar m tn Hi, I had a positive TMT test and an abnormal ECG. I also used to have headache on the back side of head after a moderate walking of 15 - 30 minutes. I also had an angiogram done in Feb 2010 which indicated 30-40 % blockage in the LAD so doctor asked me to go for the angiogram.
Avatar f tn When he comes round his Headache is worse, his Nystagmus is really bad, he is very Dizzy and Uncoordinated and the tunnel sounds last for awhile. I just took him in for an Angiogram where they had him move his head to the point of when he feels his symptoms the Angiogram turned out okay, but he pass out. The Dr. said he kept call my husbands name with no response and he was rubbing his knuckles on his chest with no response at first then he came round.

Avatar n tn My husband has been expriencing a very tight chest (not really painful) and pain on the right side of his neck. About a week and a half ago while at work he suddenly lost his breath and could not get it back for about 3 or 4 minutes. He was admitted into the hospital E.R and they did an EKG, and echocardiogram and a stress test and said that all 3 were normal as well as all of the extensive blood work they drew. His primary care Dr.

Avatar f tn Im seeing my opthalmologist again this afternoon and having an eye angiogram! Im quite confused now as to what could be causing all of this! I still have constant neck pain & also a constant pain that seems to radiate all over my head, quite dull but does intensify at times! Also my vision has not returned to normal, cant really describe whats wrong with it, but feels as if a little intoxicated, really have to focus & concentrate when doing something!
Avatar n tn close to my optic nerve. Now they have ordered a ballon angiogram of my head and neck to be sure the aneurism is truly not a problem and that my problems with balance and nerve pulses up the back of my head when I look to either side or down are not due to a poor supply of blood to the brain. Two of my doctors think I might have trigeminal neuralgia. Will this angiogram help confirm or refute that possible diagnosis?
Avatar m tn Upon raising these symptoms to my doctor he noticed the facial wasting instantly and has run some tests including an MRI (head/brain/neck) but was unable to find anything major. He also referred me to a Neurologist and an eye specialist and both said it's very odd/rare but that we'll keep an eye on it (and that it seems to be Horner's syndrome) and if it gets worse let them know right away.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 22 and I recently got an MRA of my head & neck to ensure that some of the symptoms I have been having for almost 3 weeks now weren't from a dissected artery in the neck. They didn't find an artery dissection, but they did find a "2mm Right Supraclinoid ICA aneursym" in my brain. It's the same size as yours and on the same side. Where exactly is your aneursym? Did they think it was causing your symptoms?
Avatar m tn WAS DOING OK, BUT LATELY HAVE DIFFICULTY ON EXERTION. DULL ACHE FEELING STARS IN BACK, DOWN BOTH ARMS, TOP OF CHEST AND ACHE IN NECK/JAW AFTER CONTINUING TO WALK. i KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE ANGINA, BUT HAD A ANGIO A YEAR AGO AND WAS OK REGARDING BLOCKAGES VALVES ETC. AT THE TIME MY EF WAS BAD 15%, BUT WITH THE BP UNDER CONTROL IT CAME BACK TO 40%. FOR SOME MONTHS AFTER THIS MY EXERCISE WALKING TOLERANCE WAS OK. NOW I HAVE THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE AFTER WALKING HALF A KM .
Avatar f tn I am still in terrible pain - the pain radiates from the back of my neck into my sinuses and jaw/teeth, over the top of my head into one or both eyes. I am so sensitive to light that I must wear heavy glaucoma sunglasses both outside and inside. I avoid the outdoors because of this and can no longer garden, walk my dog, go to the beach or spend time outside with my children.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the post "brokenpen". My cardiologist has told me that bruits come from the mitral valve ... he never mentioned aortic valve. My thyroid is fine. Also I had a doppler of the carotids and they were clear. I've never had the bruit until recently so it's something of new original and the doctors can't figure it out. I'm so confused. He might be sending me for a CTA (CT of head neck / angiogram) to look further. Have you ever heard of this?
Avatar m tn Sometimes a dye may be injected into a vein to highlight blood flow in your arteries and veins, CT angiogram and provide additional detail regarding appearance of brain aneurysm. MRI can create detailed images of your brain and show aneurysm’s location. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn I lasted about 6 min, hit my target heart rate, but had fairly intense pain in my jaw/neck (7+) and very labored breathing. She now is sending me for cardiolite stress test, which my ins initially didn't want to cover. Is this because it isn't necessary or because they feel I should be getting a different test? background: I am 48 yo female, non smoker, overweight, recent high blood pressure, palpitations, chest tightness on exertion and stress.
Avatar f tn It started from the R front where all my headaches are and had shooting pains all the way to the back of my head and neck. Every time I blinked or put my foot to the floor it sent more shooting pains, I could barely move my head and aleve, which normally helps me, did nothing. I also had white spots in my eye sight, increased HR, hot flashes, flushed face, and nausea. The worst of it lasted for 5 hours and I still have some pain but tolerable.

Avatar m tn had angiogram done back in april of 2014, everything looked good.
Avatar f tn Several types of fistulas in the blood vessels of head and neck, especially the carotid artery or jugular vein can also cause this—so this cause would have been ruled out by MRA. Increased blood flow as seen in anemia and hyperthyroid state can also cause pulsatile tinnitus. So this should be looked into. Fluid in middle ear can be another cause—this may have been ruled out by your ENT.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.

Avatar f tn s a migraine like pain behind my left ear starting towards the bottom of the left side of my neck and running to the too of my head. It doesn't stretch all the way over my head , it stops just above where my ear stops. I think I should add though that I seem to only get this pain for a couple weeks after I've taken ecstasy. I've taken quite a bit in the last five years but only started getting the pain about a year ago.
Avatar f tn If a artery is completely clogged on the right side of neck that supplies blood to the brain, can anything be done for this condition
Avatar m tn For years now i get a headach if i wore a heavy coat or something put pressure on the back of my neck, didnt think much of it until early this year when it got worse. Now if i look and turn my head to the left or right, and hold there for more than a few seconds, i get some neck pain, (not sharp but dull) and i start to get a headach.
Avatar f tn I will have these episodes where I have a sharp pain in the back of my head where my head and neck meet and mean while I am completly concious and aware of whats happening but I lose control of my muscles. I still have feeling and they are not rigid but I just can't move any part of my body. These episodes only last between 15-30 seconds and they only happen about every 5-7 months.
Avatar f tn I am in hospital due to seizures and recently changed meds but am getting head pressure not a headache that intensifies and i end up collapsing and also finding that some days they cannot wake me up and oxygen brings me round.
