Avatar m tn had angiogram done back in april of 2014, everything looked good.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar f tn If a artery is completely clogged on the right side of neck that supplies blood to the brain, can anything be done for this condition
Avatar f tn When he comes round his Headache is worse, his Nystagmus is really bad, he is very Dizzy and Uncoordinated and the tunnel sounds last for awhile. I just took him in for an Angiogram where they had him move his head to the point of when he feels his symptoms the Angiogram turned out okay, but he pass out. The Dr. said he kept call my husbands name with no response and he was rubbing his knuckles on his chest with no response at first then he came round.
Avatar f tn What is the difference between a CT angiogram and a heart catheritization. Which is better? I had a CTA of the aortic arch and neck. I've been having discomfort for weeks but the CTA was fine. I also have moderate mitral valve regurg which the doctor said does not need repairing. So I am confused as to what test give the best information for blockages,etc....
Avatar f tn Since your son gets headaches after running, it is important to rule out clots in his carotids or jugular vein. An angiogram of the neck blood vessels and a duplex ultrasound is done to rule this out. Other than this it can be a normal anatomical variation. However, a child should not get headaches on running—this does indicate a compromised blood flow to brain. Please consult your child's pediatrician for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar f tn has ordered is a CT angiogram to check arteries, etc. I am very worried about the exposure of radiation that this test gives off. I also had a CTA of the Aortic Arch and Head back in 2009 when my doctor was worried about a carotid bruit that he kept hearing in my right neck. That test proved ok and it was determined that the bruit was coming from my mitral valve regurgitation that was radiating sound up to the carotids.
Avatar n tn My husband has been expriencing a very tight chest (not really painful) and pain on the right side of his neck. About a week and a half ago while at work he suddenly lost his breath and could not get it back for about 3 or 4 minutes. He was admitted into the hospital E.R and they did an EKG, and echocardiogram and a stress test and said that all 3 were normal as well as all of the extensive blood work they drew. His primary care Dr.
Avatar n tn I'm having a CT angiogram Thursday. It avoids an interventional procedure that has some risk. X-ray exposture presents some risk for cancer, but my non-interventional cardiologist feels a CT angiogram is sufficient and I'm not disputing his recommendation. I had a cath angiogram and a stent 4 years ago, there was no problem as I was in a hospital setting for 3-4 days. However, some people experience a bleeding problem at the site of the cath insertion and pain that lasts several days.
Avatar m tn That usually is chest pain, and sometimes radiating pain to the neck shoulders, and back. Throat discomfort is usually a burning sensation and sometimes mistaken for GERD (digestive disorder). Angina related to the throat is an acute inflammation of the mucous membranes found in the throat, which can infect the tonsils with streptococci. This is most often diagnosed in young individuals. Angina can be treated with antibiotics and penicillin.
Avatar m tn This week has been hell cannot sleep legs are weak ,dizzy to the point i would not drive, stomach pain chest pains (left and centre of chest)no breathe, headache at back of head and neck any ideas would help I know Doctors try but i need help to narrow this down.
Avatar n tn For 6 mos, no chest, jaw, neck pain. Then again. Now I had a stress test positive for sepum and apex of heart. I had angiogram. It showed 4 of 5 bypasses were in tact and other had gotten some collateral circultaion. 2nd cardiologist want to get the films themselves and states the pictures themseves. the report on the one gone bad is very vague. I thought was was only one way to read an angiogram to determine if a stent is needed. I get chest pain 10-20 times a day. with 3-10 nitro on average.
Avatar n tn I have always gotten red in the face and had a red neck. I do have high blood pressure and do take medicine. I am a smoker and do drink some alcohol. I take procardia, metorprol and lisinipril for the blood pressure. With these meds it is regulated. I did have some tests done earlier in the year. One was a speical Cardio CT Angiogram and showed some narrowing of one artery, but not blocked. I have to watch my diet and stop smoking. Recently my face has gotten red more frequently.
Avatar f tn I am in physical therapy for muscle tension headaches and neck pain. I am wondering if neck issues such as a pinched nerve in the neck could be the cause of this. I feel a raw sensation in my chest and throat after exercise also.
Avatar f tn s not a normal reaction to an angiogram. Possibly it has nothing to do with the angiogram. It might be something more or less unrelated. It kind of sounds like a migraine type of thing, on the face it. It could even be some type of reaction to relief of stress. We think of stress as being able to cause physical symptoms, and it certainly can, but sometimes just a sudden offset of stress can cause a reaction in the body.
Avatar m tn Unruptured cerebral aneurysm can be investigated with cerebral arteriogram or angiogram. A doctor inserts a long thin tube into an artery in your legs and guides it through your blood vessels to the arteries in your neck that lead to your brain. A specialist injects dye into the arteries, which creates a map of your arteries and the aneurysm on xrays. CT can reveal blood flow in your brain and show aneurysm location.
Avatar n tn I am a 30 year old female, just had a 4 vessel cerebral angiogram and was diagnosed with a 2mm aneurysm on the right side of the brain. I was told I would have to be followed every 2 years to make sure it didn't grow. Is this the normal time span for follow up? Also..I am very active, I run quite a bit and lift weights. Is this still safe for me to do? I'm not sure what, if any, effects there would be. Any advice would be helpful.
Avatar f tn Im seeing my opthalmologist again this afternoon and having an eye angiogram! Im quite confused now as to what could be causing all of this! I still have constant neck pain & also a constant pain that seems to radiate all over my head, quite dull but does intensify at times! Also my vision has not returned to normal, cant really describe whats wrong with it, but feels as if a little intoxicated, really have to focus & concentrate when doing something!
Avatar f tn Thank you for the post "brokenpen". My cardiologist has told me that bruits come from the mitral valve ... he never mentioned aortic valve. My thyroid is fine. Also I had a doppler of the carotids and they were clear. I've never had the bruit until recently so it's something of new original and the doctors can't figure it out. I'm so confused. He might be sending me for a CTA (CT of head neck / angiogram) to look further. Have you ever heard of this?
Avatar n tn close to my optic nerve. Now they have ordered a ballon angiogram of my head and neck to be sure the aneurism is truly not a problem and that my problems with balance and nerve pulses up the back of my head when I look to either side or down are not due to a poor supply of blood to the brain. Two of my doctors think I might have trigeminal neuralgia. Will this angiogram help confirm or refute that possible diagnosis?
Avatar n tn The other possibility is that you developed wry neck or torticollis. This happens when a neck muscle goes into spasm. It relieves by itself in about 3 days time. No cause is known except probably poor posture during sleep. In almost all cases the person gets up from bed with this pain. It could also be a pinched cervical spinal nerve. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Avatar n tn I had quadruple bypass surgery 13 years ago( using the left internal mammary artery grafting to the left anterior descending coronary) and recently had been having increasing jaw pains and upper back pains ( no dizziness or fainting). I had all sorts of cardiac tests (short of angiogram) that showed within normal limits Ejection fraction was normal but still I had these increasing symptoms of jaw pain relieved by rest.
Avatar n tn I am facing chest pain with shoulder and jaw pain and some times neck pain when walking.I consulted the doctor and he has taken all the tests related to heart(ECG,Thread Mill test,Ultra sound,ct-angiogram,chest Ap x-ray) luckily all are normal and negative. But still I am getting pain when I am walking and even some times when I am at rest.Doctors are saying due to acidity also you will get these type of pains and he suggested me just ignore the pain.

Avatar m tn ve read that Coronary MVD can be missed on all of these tests and even a Coronary Angiogram. How likely is it that I could have this disease and is it worth looking into? What can I ask a doctor to be done? My life is miserable right now.
Avatar f tn i had an angiogram 18 months ago and ever since have had right groin, leg and tummy pain limited mobility cant walk easily ,lift leg, ruling my life a scan and nerve conductuion test both fine
