I just took him in for an Angiogram where they had him move his head to the point of when he feels his symptoms the Angiogram turned out okay, but he pass out. Avatar n tn t get dizzy anymore but I do get lightheaded.....My head feels heavy at the top and when I tilt my head side to side it seems to be worst while Im going through the feeling... during the feeling I have the urge to rub and stretch my neck . I very seldom experience pain with it; however once in awhile I can have mild pain on the back side(s) of my head. My eyes are effected some what. In fact when I'm reading or working on my computer or black berry it seems my eyes can trigger the feeling.

Avatar n tn close to my optic nerve. Now they have ordered a ballon angiogram of my head and neck to be sure the aneurism is truly not a problem and that my problems with balance and nerve pulses up the back of my head when I look to either side or down are not due to a poor supply of blood to the brain. Two of my doctors think I might have trigeminal neuralgia. Will this angiogram help confirm or refute that possible diagnosis?
Avatar n tn I am a 30 year old female, just had a 4 vessel cerebral angiogram and was diagnosed with a 2mm aneurysm on the right side of the brain. I was told I would have to be followed every 2 years to make sure it didn't grow. Is this the normal time span for follow up? Also..I am very active, I run quite a bit and lift weights. Is this still safe for me to do? I'm not sure what, if any, effects there would be. Any advice would be helpful.
Avatar m tn WAS DOING OK, BUT LATELY HAVE DIFFICULTY ON EXERTION. DULL ACHE FEELING STARS IN BACK, DOWN BOTH ARMS, TOP OF CHEST AND ACHE IN NECK/JAW AFTER CONTINUING TO WALK. i KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE ANGINA, BUT HAD A ANGIO A YEAR AGO AND WAS OK REGARDING BLOCKAGES VALVES ETC. AT THE TIME MY EF WAS BAD 15%, BUT WITH THE BP UNDER CONTROL IT CAME BACK TO 40%. FOR SOME MONTHS AFTER THIS MY EXERCISE WALKING TOLERANCE WAS OK. NOW I HAVE THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE AFTER WALKING HALF A KM .
Avatar f tn I am still in terrible pain - the pain radiates from the back of my neck into my sinuses and jaw/teeth, over the top of my head into one or both eyes. I am so sensitive to light that I must wear heavy glaucoma sunglasses both outside and inside. I avoid the outdoors because of this and can no longer garden, walk my dog, go to the beach or spend time outside with my children.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the post "brokenpen". My cardiologist has told me that bruits come from the mitral valve ... he never mentioned aortic valve. My thyroid is fine. Also I had a doppler of the carotids and they were clear. I've never had the bruit until recently so it's something of new original and the doctors can't figure it out. I'm so confused. He might be sending me for a CTA (CT of head neck / angiogram) to look further. Have you ever heard of this?
Avatar f tn I lasted about 6 min, hit my target heart rate, but had fairly intense pain in my jaw/neck (7+) and very labored breathing. She now is sending me for cardiolite stress test, which my ins initially didn't want to cover. Is this because it isn't necessary or because they feel I should be getting a different test? background: I am 48 yo female, non smoker, overweight, recent high blood pressure, palpitations, chest tightness on exertion and stress.
Avatar m tn Sometimes a dye may be injected into a vein to highlight blood flow in your arteries and veins, CT angiogram and provide additional detail regarding appearance of brain aneurysm. MRI can create detailed images of your brain and show aneurysm’s location. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn My husband has been expriencing a very tight chest (not really painful) and pain on the right side of his neck. About a week and a half ago while at work he suddenly lost his breath and could not get it back for about 3 or 4 minutes. He was admitted into the hospital E.R and they did an EKG, and echocardiogram and a stress test and said that all 3 were normal as well as all of the extensive blood work they drew. His primary care Dr.
Avatar f tn It started from the R front where all my headaches are and had shooting pains all the way to the back of my head and neck. Every time I blinked or put my foot to the floor it sent more shooting pains, I could barely move my head and aleve, which normally helps me, did nothing. I also had white spots in my eye sight, increased HR, hot flashes, flushed face, and nausea. The worst of it lasted for 5 hours and I still have some pain but tolerable.
Avatar n tn to the head from bony structures, muscles, and other soft tissue in the neck and shoulders. Symptoms are usually one-sided and include: precipitation of head pain by neck movement or awkward neck positions, head pain when external pressure is applied to the neck or occipital region, restricted range of motion of the neck, and neck, shoulder and arm pain. Treatment for cervicogenic headache includes physical therapy, medications, behavioral therapy, and other modalities.

Avatar m tn I had a stent put in back in 2007, since then I have been having shortness of breath, pain in my chest that runs up in my neck to my jaw and down my left arm. This has been going on for several years. Within the last 2 years I have been diagnosed with diastolic heart failure, asthma, and copd. I can't do anything that causes stress or exertion without experiencing all these symptoms. PLEASE HELP.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.

Avatar m tn For years now i get a headach if i wore a heavy coat or something put pressure on the back of my neck, didnt think much of it until early this year when it got worse. Now if i look and turn my head to the left or right, and hold there for more than a few seconds, i get some neck pain, (not sharp but dull) and i start to get a headach.
Avatar n tn Was a Carotid artery angiogram performed by the Cardiologist? A carotid angiogram is a procedure to look for any blockages and/or narrowing in the carotid/neck arteries that supply blood to the brain. If there are blockages, such symptoms may occur. Please go for MRI of the neck and spine to check if there is a nerve compression in the neck which may be possible since there is a history of a trauma. You must consult a neurologist.
Avatar f tn I am in hospital due to seizures and recently changed meds but am getting head pressure not a headache that intensifies and i end up collapsing and also finding that some days they cannot wake me up and oxygen brings me round. (Obs and 02 sats are fine) I do have stage 2 moderate left ventricle diastolic dysfunction And possible cardiac syndrome x. As been getting symptoms of angina and angiogram clear. No one seems to be doing anything.
Avatar f tn I will have these episodes where I have a sharp pain in the back of my head where my head and neck meet and mean while I am completly concious and aware of whats happening but I lose control of my muscles. I still have feeling and they are not rigid but I just can't move any part of my body. These episodes only last between 15-30 seconds and they only happen about every 5-7 months.
Avatar n tn Hi. My boyfriend was attacked 2 years ago and kicked in the head. He was knocked out with a concussion, and had red blood cells in his spinal fluid (albeit it was a traumatic tap, but the doctors claimed that it shouldn't have elevated it as much as it was). One of his pupils was irregularly shaped for awhile afterward, but went back to normal, or so we thought.
Avatar f tn Straightening of the normal lordotic curvature of the cervical spine may indicate positioning of the paraspinal muscle spasm. There is mild intravertebral disc space narrowing at C5-6 with associated endplate osteophytosis. There is no fracture or listhesis. There is no bony foraminal narrowing. 7mm lucent lesion in the anterior C3 vertebral body appears consistent with a small benign hemangioma. Minimal lower cervical spondylosis. No acute bony abnormality or traumatic malalignment.
