Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram of eye

angiogram

Avatar n tn He ran a series of test and told her to return for an Angiogram on the eye with the Fovea. Why is an Angiogram necessary for this type of problem and if the Fovea is still there, is there a cure for it? What can they do for her Fovea? This discussion is related to Cataract Complication: Fovea leakage .
Avatar n tn I have been given dilated eye exam 6 times plus twice was given fluorecent angiogram within less than one year time. One of the doctors had told me that I have retinopathy and some aneurysms. The second last time I went to see him, he gave me my second angiogram. After that, My eyes become very sensitive to light. Any sunlight, ipad glare, night lights, sometimes even room lights. it has been more than two weeks this condition still remains and I got headache while in the sun today.
Avatar f tn The new test that usually gives the answer is very easy to do and is called a macular OCT if that is indeterminate than a retinal fluoriscene angiogram (of the eye not brain and carotids) is usally done at the same time. I don't know where you live but retina ophthalmologists would not let your mom walk out the door without one or both tests being done. See if you get her to a retina MD tomorrow. ERs are not equipped to do this testing.
Avatar f tn Anyhow, two days before the test was taken I started having a sort of headache behind my right eye and after the angiogram I had very bad headaches that causeed nausea for 3 days straight. As well, I have had before some tingling sensations on my right hand side of my head and in my leg. These tingly sensations i have had off and on for about a year now though.
Avatar m tn Can you have a CT done every month? Of course not. A CT--even with the very slight risk of cancer--is safer than an angiogram. Angiograms are very safe, but not without risk. The CT is noninvasive, and it would give you either information that you are developing heart disease, or it would give you piece of mind that you are not. Either answer would be useful to you.
Avatar m tn The blind spot is to the right of center. In trying to read the eye chart with my right eye, I have only been able to see the left side - and can only read the 1st two letters, and usually only about half-way down the chart. My left eye can read the full width, and usually the bottom line. I will post the results from the referral, but am wondering if anyone has any idea what the heck is going on?
Avatar f tn had magnetic reasonnance angiogram no significant abnormalties found wats the definition of this doeas it say its clear or just ok wat were they looking for and have i any worries never explained didnt go bk 2 neurologist.
Avatar f tn It makes a world if difference the training of the "eye specialists" you saw. Both should be Eye MD ophthalmologists not non MD optometrists. Ideally one would be an eye MD that specializes in retina/macula/vitreous. You should have some special tests: Macular and nerve fiber layer OCT, Amsler grid testing, visual field test. It is possible you might need a fluorescein angiogram. I suspect you have not had all these done, I would get them scheduled.

Avatar m tn Hes also stating that there is restricted blood flow in retina which is causing the blurred vision, black spots and color difference. He has increased my eye drops to reduce swelling and has scheduled a angiogram for both eyes. He stated day after surgery during visit everything seem to be ok except pressure was 38 and eye swollen, he put some drops in for the pressure.
469349 tn?1217606941 I have been experiencing pink eye since Sunday, not the regular pink eye...there is no discharge from the eye, the left eye, where all the problem is, gets really pink and my vision gets cloudy, especially when my pain starts. Im schedule to have an angiogram this coming Wednesday, and Im hoping I can wait til there. If someone can let me know if this has to do with the fistula and what should I do, please comment.
Avatar f tn Have any specialists heard of this before?
Avatar f tn He is ordering an MRI of the upper spine and a CT Angiogram of the chest I think to rule out Horners Syndrome. My eyesight went from -1.25 and-.75 to -2.25 and -2.00. My eyesight does seem blurry and occasion double vision. I am growing concerned as I have almost fallen, my son caught me.I am very dizzy and nauseated. My head hurts all the time. I am also having leg cramps. There is pressure behind my eyes. I am extremely tired and seem to sleep all the time now.
Avatar m tn I had seen an eye doctor becuase of vision loss in my left eye, i had my eyes fully diolated, and went through an eye exam. About 4 -5 days they performed the Angiogram, injected the dye into my arm and started to take photos of the eye. they didnt see anything that stood out so i was refered to the eye hospital downtown. About a week later i went down there had a full diolation done, and another eye exam.
Avatar m tn 7 montha ago I had an eye stroke. Had 3 surgeries to remove blood and reattachment of retina. Now poor vision and scar tisses built up. 1. Is surgery only option to remove tissues? 2.Could retina be detached again during surgery. 3.Would surgery help to improve the vision.
Avatar m tn The surgeon never brought up any other options other than surgery. I'm a healthy 56 yr. old and don't have cataracts. Retina Sp. didn't do a flourescein angiogram so he wasn't concerned about that problem. The ERM is just thick and in front of the macula which has the thickess on the OCT as "302 microns at A-scan" . Previous OCT at a different Dr. office 5 weeks prior showed the center of the circle with the ILM-RPE thickness to be 525.
Avatar n tn It appears just off the center (macula) of the eye in the +X +Y area using the Amsler Grid. Vision around the spot is intact. My visual acuity is 20/20 in both eyes without assistance. I had no headache, sinus issue, or other health related problem. I am also seeing bright light flashes when I move my eye either to the right or to the left. I have been to both an optometrist and a retinal specialst. I had a florusciene angiogram and a tomography scan performed.
344352 tn?1605238012 Once in a while I’ll get a small pin size flash of light. I don’t suffer from migraines. It’s the o my eye I have as I lost sight in my other eye in 1986. I have dealt with something like this many years ago but it would be grey area and the dr said could be the ME. But now it’s more blueish and has lasted almost 3 weeks. Any thoughts?! Needless to say I am freaking out.
Avatar n tn Hi, hoping someone could offer me some information as to what is happening to my eye Here's what happened: I slept with my contacts on (this is like my second time... hopefully this is some helpful information?) and then at night time I got back to my dorm, took off my contacts and I felt something in my left eye. I wash it out with water and I see an eyelash on my eye so I try to remove it with my fingers, then OK good, I got it out.
359574 tn?1328360424 I had my initial appointment with a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins yesterday about my brain aneurysm. She is not happy with the quality of the angiogram I had done in March, and wants me to have one done at Hopkins. Then she would follow up with me, and also have me see another neuro-ophthalmalogist while I'm there. I will have to schedule it around my work, so it may not be until sometime next year.
Avatar m tn Dear doc. I am in my early 20'. I am seeing something like this in both of my eyes always and it seems to be getting more noticable. I have 20/30 vision correctable with glasses. http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n568/hunteravatar12345/untitled.jpg The center dot is a perfect faint blackish dot i can see it. but more clearly if i blink fast. I have seen an opthamologist and a retina specialist and found nothing wrong. I also taken an ERG and Fluorescein Angiogram and it is normal.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm trying to figure out what ILT infundibulum is. My angiogram report states that I have a small outpouching within the horizontal portion of the cavernous ICA, likely representing an ILT infundibulum. So far I have surmised that ILT means Intraluminal Thrombus but can't really understand what it means. I have been diagnosed with a small pituitary tumor with some cysts and an aneurysm behind my left eye.
469349 tn?1217606941 After complaining of pulsatile tinnitus, extreme headaches, blurred vission, red eye...I had MRA..MRI with and w/out contrast...carotid ultrasound...ct scans ... and an angiogram that led to 8 coils embolization to left jugular vein on April 23rd. The headaches remained and stronger than ever...the eye redness and vission gotten worst day by day and having blackout episodes I went to the ophtalmologyst were they found papilledema and diagnosed me with Pseudotumor cerebri...
Avatar n tn Depending which of 12 electrodes placed on the chest for output to the EKG would determine the location of a possible ischemic (lack of blood flow), can indicate an MI. An EKG is not very reliable to diagnose ischemia or a an MI and requires further testing i.e. stress test, ct angiogram or cath angiogram. If it is closed (implant vessel), in all probability it can be reopened with a stent.
Avatar n tn I have had a chest pain 2 months and went and admitted in the hospita under observation and they have taken all the tests related to heart(ECG,Thread Mill,Blood tests, ultra sound and angiogram). After checking all these tests doctors told every thing is normal and you dont need to worry. But in angiogram it is showing 30% blockage.
