Hello All. I'm really new on the panel and I'm searching for help. In the last two weeks I have not been able to have a BM. My doctor gave me some samples of amitiza 24 mcg. I've been taken them 2 per day for the last 4 days - One at night and another in the A.M. With the 1st tablet I had a BM. I have not had another BM since. It doesn't seem that I'm having any normal digestive sounds or movements. I don't even have the urge to have a BM.
my symptoms are weight loss, severe constipation, headaches, bloating, gas, and loss of appetite. Ive had and endoscopy, colonoscopy, cat scan, xray, multiple blood tests, allergy tests, diabetes test, fructose intolerance test, and stomach motility/emptying test and the doctors haven't found anything except lactose intolerance. I tried an IBS diet but that did nothing to alleviate my symptoms (it might have even made the worse especially the bloating).
Had breast reconstruction over 10 years ago - TRAM flap with abdominal muscle. Digestion issues worsen every year. Physician prescribed Amitiza last year but now have to meet new-year deductible before I can benefit from manufacturer coupon. Symptoms now include increased, painful bloating, no burps, no flatulence and no bowel movement after about 5 days drinking only water. Usually fruit or juice will help but nothing is helping or happening. Suggestions welcome and encouraged.
at the place small colon is connected i had a CT scan which says i have a stricture and scarring. I am having terrible bloating and cannot eat any large meal, also can't do fiber, gluten or carbs. Any suggestions. I take amitiza twice a day and drink miralax every night with prune juice. this has ruined my life. it has just gotten worse over the last 6 months.
My daughter began amitiza and it has worked wonderfully, however, she is spotting in between periods. Is this common?
This looks like "official" matter. What meds are in question?

IBS is not a disease at all, and there's no drugs for IBS, as I know (my opinion). Zelnorm was even withdrawn from the (U.S.) market last year, now it might be back again.
When it starts I get awful bloating, and pain that raidiates all over my stomach and then when it gets really bad I get pan that starts to radiate all over my low back and get extremely painful to walk. I have had it get so bad that I literally was wearing maternity clothes because my stomach was huge and i looked pregnant. I have gained weight because I can't go correctly. I have had a colonoscopy done and it came back fine.
I've had severe constipation for two weeks now. I have severe abdominal bloating/distention, rapid weight gain (put 25 pounds on in less than 2 weeks), stingy sensation up and down my lower legs (front) almost burning and my fingers tingle/feel swollen, fatigue (wake up tired, tired after eating, and sleep whenever not at work), waking up tired, muscle soreness, joint pain, nausea, and my stomach is warm to the touch and hurts.
t seem to gain it back. As soon as I eat I start getting this symptoms and the bloating sensations are there always, I would say that I have abdominal discomfort the whole day, since its not really a pain that I can't take I have not gone to the doctor and I dont complain about it, I just have been living with it. Any ideas of what it can be?
m a 24 year old female with a 7 year history of abdominal pain with trapped gas, extreme bloating, and on again off again constipation. It all started when i was 17 everyday I would have a salad for lunch and about 20 minutes later I had severe abdominal pain, bloating, and my stomach was distended. The only way to relive the pain was to lie down and let the gas work itself out.
Now, sometimes it does not work at all, even though it has been 3 - 4 days of not going....I am pretty much in a constant state of bloating and pain...now, sometimes even after i deficate. I have been to numerous Dr's whose answers have always been eat fiber fiber fiber........it kills me...i have tried and tried and tried...the longest is 10 days....i simply cannot function without going for 10 days!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions...ideas...anything, i am desperate. thanks........
Have you tried taking magnesium citrate every morning? Have you tried Amitiza? I have not tried Linzess yet, but Amitiza is pretty good for me.
You could try taking walnut hull and wormwood preparation for parasites to see if that helps you.
Also take Lactulose and Amitiza. However, in order to take the Amitiza must take a nausea pill before and after. Often times still have nausea with the Amitiza and not convinced it helps all that much. I've been at this for 8 yrs and have done everything but stand on my head. Without pills and powder - bowel movements are difficult and every 3-5 days. And only partial. EXTREMELY bloated. Have difficulty fitting into street clothes later in the day. Makes work life and social life difficult.
