Aldara hiv

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara hiv

Avatar n tn I went to the doctor, and they gave me Aldara for HPV. This was in January. Since then, I have had the worst yeast infections, and while one bump is slowly decreasing in size (and has hardened and turned quite red in the process), none of the others are changing size at all, and I am getting more tiny little white bumps within a few inches of the initial three bumps I had. I am pretty sure it is HPV, but it seems to be geting worse. I have been tested recently for HIV, and that was negative...
Avatar n tn This is no question but rather a clarification. I have been using aldara for about a month and a half, and judgeing by the topics, several others need some guidence. I caught Molluscum contagium, maybe from the gym, maybe from sex who knows, who cares. I noticed some very small hybrid of pimples and warts in my gentital area. So of course, like most of you, I freaked. I am a healthy 21 year old male who has had a fairly modest sexual life (less than 10 partners, no one night stands).
Avatar n tn I'd still say it could be a reaction to the Aldara, and how you are using it. You will just need to wait and see what the test results say.
Avatar n tn It was a very small one, hardly visible, so I didn't do much about it. I went to the doctor again 2 months ago and he suggested to use Aldara on it because he didn't keep a nitro gun. I had been using it for about 2 months when I developed this sore on my penis, size of a quater, but not round. There were no blisters but just a sore as if the skin had been peeled off. It was slightly weepy, pink, shiny and had white pus like formation/skin on it.
Avatar f tn I fully expected to break out with herpes, but I never did. My blood tests for herpes, HIV, syphillis all came back negative, as did swabs for chylamidia and gonnnerea. Then I developed a couple of small bumps around the labial area. I went back to my gyno. She then told me it looked like Molluscsum Contagiosum and gave me Aldara cream to use. Well, I used it all over my genital area for 3 days. On the 3rd day - I developed 5 small ulcers. They didn't hurt. I went back to my gyno.
Avatar f tn This December I had a tiny, flesh colored flat wart on my outerr vaginal lip. My doctor prescribed me a 24 pack of Aldara cream. Afetr about a week of using the cream I called him and aske him if I could stop using the cream or do I need to finish it all. He told me to finish using until all gone. I continued using the cream and around the second week of using i developed a sever rash. They were bumps that were really red and itchy.
Avatar n tn 9 Days after the initial encounter I went to my regular health care provider because I wanted to get check for HIV. The test came back negative, and the HIV test was only 9 days after possible exposure. I did contract gentile warts from this woman also. 32 days after possible exposure I started to develop very sore armpits, a neck, and clavicle area. The pain was moderate to mild and I am to be considered a generally healthy person.
Avatar m tn Any way you are lucky that u didnt penitrate her without condom so u dont have risk of HIV and simptoms doesnt seems like HIV related to me.So feel free.
Avatar n tn About ten days later i noticed some little bumps and my penis, they didnt hurt just wernt normal so i went to planned parent hood and they saind it wasnt herpes and that i looked more like warts. so they gave me aldara and told me to come back in a month.
Avatar n tn 1. The guy says he is hiv negative and that he had intense reconstructive surgery 3 months ago and they did thorough bloodwork. When undergoing intense surgery do they test your blood for everything? 2. The herpes scare.
Avatar m tn the rates of herpes in gay males are very high so it's worth the testing. also since having hsv2 increases your risk of hiv if should happen to have a hiv+ partner, knowing your hsv2 status periodically is always a good idea.
Avatar m tn Now the part about HIV, I read that people can take a MC infection as a sign that they are HIV positive. Also I read that if you are HIV positive, that MC is progressive, and does not clear up easily. I had a HIV test a while ago, but since then I have had some risky behaviour. Basically, what I am wondering is, if I were HIV positive then the MC wouldnt have cleared up so easily right?
Avatar n tn Felt terribly guilty when I sobered up and even worse when I developed genital warts several weeks later and a constant hot/cold burning sensation in the genital area which I put down to extreme sress, guilt and Aldara which was percribed to treat the warts. The warts went away after 14 weeks and clear at the moment. The burning persited and I finally went to see a Urologist. Told him everything, he tested my urine and it wasn't spring water. Now on antibiotics as he suspects it's Chlamidaya.
Avatar m tn What concerns me is the fact that the previous day of the test I had a last encounter with a csw and we did protected oral and protected vaginal sex. Given the fact that people with STDs have more probabilities to get Hiv infection and the fact that hiv test after 1 day isn't reliable,am I at risk of infection ? I have to say that the window period covers my for all encounters besides the last one. Also I repeat that we only had Protected sex but the existence of STDs make me very anxious.
Avatar n tn i am a 33yrd old hetrosexual male. i had a hiv test done in march of 05 that was negative. i had unprotected sex in july of 05 with a woman. in dec of 05 i developed genital warts. i have gone 3 times to the doctor to have them frozen off.each time they have come back. i have used aldara twice but it didnt work at all.i have 6 warts. 5 of them r the size of the tip of the pen and 1 is the size of the opening of a straw.
Avatar m tn To put this in perspective, even if she was very promiscuous, the odds are that she was not HIV infected. Here in the U.S. the prevalence of HIV in the general population is estimated to be no more than 1%. Even if she had many sex partners, odds her her risk would be no more than double that . I suspect the odds are similar or lower in Canada, thus I would suspect from the outset that it is unlikely the she had HIV.
Avatar n tn Hello Doctor, I am a 23 year old male who has broken out in a shingles rash beneath my left nipple. I was using Aldara cream to treat HPV and stopped about a month ago. While I was unfortunate enough to get HPV, I still consider myself low risk, that being I have had unprotected sex with women twice in the past year. Should these shingles be a warning sign of HIV?
Avatar m tn I was infected with MC and have been using Aldara. Afetr 5 weeks my tongue and gums became very red and sore and little white spots appeared under the skin on the inside of my upper lip (none on the bottom lip). Can anypne please help? Avatar n tn I am on HIV theropy, but have INTERNAL anal there anything I can do to get rid of them.
Avatar n tn 10 days later i had all stds and hiv tests done all negative i donot know if is herpes or hiv. could the test misdiagnosed all the stds since it was only 10 days after exposure? today i had the 20 min hiv rapid test today, 29 days after exposure but feeling very sick for the last 29 days. could it be hiv?
Avatar n tn I just found out I had HPV yesterday and had my warts frozen and was given aldara to use in two days time. My question was, when would it be ok to masturbate again, and when would it be ok to have sex again?
Avatar f tn I am a 42yr old female in excellent health. MY HIV and herpes test are negative.Recent pap normal. Two month ago i was dx with genital wart--anogenital wart(mainly around the anus), under went several treatments--exsion and hyfercation, once under local anesthesia treated by a colorectal surgeon, but they keep reoccurring every 1-2wks. I am healthy, do not smoke, exercise and live a healthy life style.
Avatar n tn 2) Second, what are chances of me having HIV seens I didn't see any symptoms or signs? 3) How effective Liquid nitrogen and aldara therapy is? and When I will start seeing those going away after I have started therapy of liquid nitrogena and Aldara like two days ago. I will appreciate if I can get a help on it. Because, I am so scare and I dont know where this came from. I am so emotionally brokedown right now. Thank You.
Avatar m tn You can't use your mild case of molluscum as an excuse not to get a real HIV test. It can take years before HIV noticeably compromises your immune system. From your history it sounds like you have no reason to be concerned, but you won't know for sure unless you get a blood test 6 weeks after your last unprotected sexual encounter.
Avatar n tn the dermatologist applied a blistering solution to the area that wiped out all the skin in that area and after a really painful week, everything cleared up totally - but then, 3 weeks after the treatment, they came back with a vengeance - with a really bad break out that measured almost an inch wide on either side of my anal area. i am hiv-negative and i have no other medical conditions.
Avatar n tn Doc, 1st of all I wanted to thank you for your prior replies on my concerns. I've just had my HIV anti body test and it came out negative, the result says "non reactive",(11 weeks from last exposure) and Im happy about it..... Thanks a lot. Now for my frustrating concern..... Me and my fiance have genital warts and was treated for more than 3 times already..... but it keeps growing on other areas..... No sign of relapse on the former lesions... But it gets very frustrating.....
Avatar m tn I had a one night stand with a girl I had just met. We used a condom. A few months later, after no more partners, I had a cluster of little red bumps, that were painless, and lasted for months. The bumps were diagnosed as Molluscum contagiosum. I got rid of it by waiting it out, squeezing a few bumps, and using Aldara cream. I have been clean of MC for years now.
Avatar f tn Following a LEEP procedure and Aldara in 2004, I have been symptom free to date. I understand that my virus is most likely dormant. My partner and I have not had vaginal sex...but brief genital contact(tip of penis did touch outside of vagina with mucosal secretions and oral sex (once). Did I expose him to HPV? Could that have passed it on to him? HPV really took a toil on me emotionally. So I truly appreciate a forum where I can ask a question.
Avatar n tn A lot of information I have read says your body should eventually do that and I do not have HIV. Do you have any explanation of why this is prolonged or if there is anything I can do to help my Immune system? The only other explanation I can offer is that I do have a couple other issues in that area and could they be contributing? I currently get the warts lasered. I have been prescribed aldara for external break outs which I haven't had in a while.
Avatar m tn I've been with this now for at least 10 months, it seems, and have gone through a few rounds of treatment, and am currently using Aldara on a bunch of visible warts. My question is, at some point, will these warts just go away on their own? Is the Aldara or some other method of treatment the only way to eradicate them? I wonder if I shouldn't just count 'em up, and call the doctor for a quote (no insurance, unfortuately).
