Common Questions and Answers about Aldara equivalent

Avatar n tn I'm female, well past the age of 26. I take immunosuppressive drugs for a kidney transplant and had two HPV outbreaks 5 years ago, but haven't had an outbreak since then. I'm in committed, consensually nonmonogamous relationships with Fred (4 yrs) and George (1 yr). When George and I met, he told me he'd had genital warts for >6 months and was about start Aldara. After several months of no results he applied an OTC product (!
Avatar m tn It began in one area, spread to the other side of my penis, and I now have recurring warts in 8 different patches on my penis and testicles. I have tried Condylox, Veregen, Cryo, and am now on Aldara. I have one large one about2.5 cm across, and one problem patch of 5 surrounded by dozens that recur immediately after every treatment and have for years now. I have smoked marijuana daily for about 10 years.
Avatar n tn Other available treatments are freezing (in the health care provider's office) and imiquimod (trade name Aldara). Having said all that, if your warts are on a dry surface such as your labia major, and if you carefully apply the product only to the wart(s), avoid contact with surrounding skin, and dry the product (e.g., with a hair dryer) so it won't smear around onto normal skin, then the treatment likely will be effective and not cause undue irritation.
Avatar m tn I have since spoken to 2 doctors plus both Handsfield and Hook and the equivalent expert in the UK - I wont mention his name as he doesn't operate on forums so I feel that would be harsh. All I'll say is if you type "chester sexual health - genital warts always go for good eventually" in to google UK it will point you in the right direction. Anyway the general consensus is, warts do always go - some people need a few treatment cycles, some need only need one.

Avatar n tn About 6 months later I put garlic on it which did make it way smaller, though it came back. I used aldara just twice and garlic and it was gone- it took about a year. Then it came back last year, in the same exact place, very tiny. I went to an NP and she put acetic acid on it, it did not turn white. She said it was not a wart, that sometimes you can get bumps. She offered to burn it off, I said no... It stayed there the same size for a while and then it started to get bigger.
Avatar m tn aldara on the skin where you inject the vaccine is a very promising approach, and very available. The injections should be done intradermally, maybe 6 to eight injections spaced about 1cm on skin that has been prepared with aldara 2 hours before and again immediately before the injection. the doses for intradermal vaccinations are less than for intramuscular. having zadaxin in the mix would enhance it further, a Canadian trial has proven that.
