Aldara back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara back pain

aldara

Avatar n tn After using Aldara for 8 weeks or so the warts went away and my doctor said that they were gone and I could stop using Aldara. About a week ago I noticed that two warts were back and my doctor said to continue use of Aldara. I was wondering how long Aldara takes to get rid of warts and when they do go away, how often may the warts reappear?
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with HPV for the past 4 months, and it has been a serious struggle. I have gone to get the warts burned off about 5-6 times, and they keep coming back. My doctor put me on Aldara, but I am having SERIOUS side effects. It says for me to put it on the area once a night before I go to bed, but I started having redness and irritation. I thought that just meant that it was working, so I was off it for a day and went back on it for 2.
Avatar n tn I've had my 4th treatment, and I'm not having fun. Within 24 hours after teatment I am crying in pain, muscle aches, joint pain, my skin over my whole body hurts. I also have vaginal itching, burning, but its not that bad. I also am having nausea, with upset stomach and vomiting. About 48 hours after the treatment, i begin to feel better. Are these symptoms normal? Is there anyone else out there being treated with Aldara vaginally? I cant find any information online about using it this way.
Avatar f tn Is there any link to aldara stopping your menstral cycle? Just used stopped using it and haven't had my cycle since I used it. Since July 2 I haven't had any menstration. My boyfriend has a vasectomy (14 years). I have taken like 5 pregnancy tests (all negative) and I'm looking at the calender and its been 9 weeks since any kind of flow. I haven't used it in 2 weeks. Im not on the pill, dont have any STIs (neither of us - tests came back).
Avatar m tn Hello, The skin of penis is very thin and delicate and if you apply aldara imiquimod then you should pull the foreskin back and gently wash it daily. Failing to do so may result in swelling, wearing away of the skin, or pain in pulling back the foreskin. You can resort to other treatment options also like electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.
Avatar n tn This left me devastated for a few days and I hit an all time low. I was advised that I could go back onto the aldara cream because the doctor seemed to think it wasn't linked to the herpes outbreak. I started again with the aldara cream and I started to get a regular tingling sensation again and also saw visible outbreaks again on the scrotum area (not where the cream was applied at any time). I carried on using three or four sachets but then I took the decision myself to stop.
Avatar n tn One another suggestion is to apply some moisturizer or petrolium jelly on the skin surrounding the warts while applying the aldara on warts... remember, aldara is to be applied on warts only and should not come in contact with the healthy skin...
Avatar f tn I also had red itchy swollen labia, an initial vaginal discharge, anal itching, occaisonal stabbing pain in the back of my legs. My Gyno first said I had dermatitis. However, I had been using DMSO cream which significantly reduced the symptoms by the time I saw her. I was able to keep the itching and redness somewhat under control with the DMSO and other natural products I purchased. But it kept coming back. I fully expected to break out with herpes, but I never did.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had genital warts back in 2002 (3-4 small ones). The doctor used the nitro gun and froze them but he missed one. It was a very small one, hardly visible, so I didn't do much about it. I went to the doctor again 2 months ago and he suggested to use Aldara on it because he didn't keep a nitro gun. I had been using it for about 2 months when I developed this sore on my penis, size of a quater, but not round. There were no blisters but just a sore as if the skin had been peeled off.
Avatar n tn I'd still say it could be a reaction to the Aldara, and how you are using it. You will just need to wait and see what the test results say.
Avatar m tn hey im a 20 year old gay male who used aldara for some small gw for about a month. i quit becuase it was irritating my penis. i have a huge redish pink tinlgling burning blotch that appears to be getting better (after over 3 weeks!) but now another is starting to form i believe it is not incredibly flakey like some of the psoriasis pictures ive seen but it has been kinda dry..
Avatar n tn 1) I have HPV and have been using aldara successfully whenever a new wart pops up. However, this week I had the worst reaction yet to the cream ( I think?!): Itching, burning, painful sores (which scab over in less than 1 day). This has persisted on one side of my body for 5 days now. I am worried that I have herpes. My right lypmh node is swollen as well in my genital area. The redness and swelling has subsided somewhat on the 5th day. Is this too short to be a herpes outbreak?
Avatar f tn runny or stuffy nose, cough, sore throat; headache, back ache, muscle pain; or diarrhea, upset stomach. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Avatar f tn I have never experience pain to that degree before. She then advised me to continue using Aldara. The same night I had cryotherapy done, I used Aldara. It's been over a week now and I can hardly walk, let alone use the bathroom. I went back to the OB/GYN four days after the cryotherapy session, and was told the wart must have been deep and that it will take two weeks to heal. I think I need to see a dermatologist. How long will this burn last?
Avatar m tn I have no clue if the two could be related but my symptoms started some 2-3 weeks after my encounter (protected oral sex) last July. I have pain on the right side of my foreskin just below the head and above the shaft of my penis. I have never had a bump/blister or anything in the spot.
Avatar f tn We tested for all STDs again, even herpes this time, and they all came back negative. Symptoms are still red inflammed penis head, over sensitivity, and pain in and around urethra opening. She said it was probably a yeast infection, so she gave me one pill of fluconazole 150 mg.
Avatar n tn I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.
Avatar n tn She told me I had Molluscum contagiosum, she gave me aldara, told me to stop shaving and two months later I went back and she froze what was left and I continued on the aldara.
598912 tn?1219552112 I have hpv,and i had a reoccurence of gw so m doc 0rescribed aldara. ******* hell hole in a packet. after only s couple days of using it, yesterday my vagina lips swoll up along with the middle portion too. i began to walk funny because it would hurt to bump them together. i was at work still and needed to home asap.
Avatar f tn To: who ever can offer more advice I have more questions please...I had been using aldara after my dr. told me I had molloscum. I completely agreed with him that from what I had read, it's what I had. Anyway I made my follow up visit with him a week early because the cream aldara was killing me. The bumps from the molloscum which I had popped (and out came a hard white thing) all opened up as if the cream was pretty much burning them off.
Avatar f tn I have been going to a local low-cost clinic and was treated for one initial huge one and have been intermittently self-treating with Aldara and going back to the clinic for review. On my last visit I noticed a few odd papules in my pubic hair and really small, pinhead size "whiteheads" on the shaft of my penis and on my scrotum. I immediately went back to the clinic thinking the warts were spreading from the anal area.
Avatar f tn Went to the doctor in June of this year and she prescribed with Aldara because she thought it was molluscum contagiosum which I was told to put on 3 times a week. So I started using the cream and noticed no difference on my inner thighs or butt. But when I put it on my labia it turned into a sore and is terribly itching and burning now and now has a lump/bulge. No idea what it is or how I can help the burning and itching which is causing a lot of pain.
Avatar f tn If you are willing to go through some intense but short bursts of pain I highly recommend doing what I did. The apple cider vinegar is intense drawn out pain. I couldn't handle it. My method made them look bigger. Then they turn a bright white and then dissolved. A week!! And I have two tiny bumps left. It was worth every second of pain to have these bastards gone. Best wishes. Worst STD imo.
Avatar m tn I have been waiting for the results (though I know I have no other STDs thankfully those tests have already come back) and using the veregen. i have not noticed any changes to the bumps or what i think are bumps surrounding my vagina nor the the bumps surrounding my anus.
Avatar m tn 2) I am on holiday in a different country and cannot go see a doc now, so do you think i should go back to using the aldara cream? i have stopped using it for about a week and a half now 3) Ive had increased discharge since my symptoms have come up, so i was wondering does genital warts cause excess discharge?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with the virus back in May. After months of endless treatment, mostly freezing i am trying aldara. I've tried it before but am now using it less regularly to reduce pain. After my first time using it again 2 nights ago, they have turned white. Is this working ? Need some positive news as it's just got worse since I was diagnosed.
Avatar m tn i have tried picking them off which was painful and messy but they were only gone for a month or so then they came back . Is there anyway to get rid of these its killing me mentally because im actually turning down sex because im so embarrassed and worried of infecting anyone else. i have tried a topical cream also called aldara which was expensive and i picked one off at the time before using it so not sure if it worked properly?
Avatar m tn ) with genital warts, but these feelings have been exacerbated since beginning my treatment of aldara (which I use very sparingly on all of the warts*) Could aldara be a likely cause. 4. After the warts clear (assuming aldara is effective), will it ever be reasonably safe for me to have protected sex with an unaffected partner? My current new girlfriend is asking to have sex, and I have been using my back injury as an excuse not to. Do I need to break her off? Thank you.
Avatar n tn If your wife had them, they would be external and visible. I think you're better off having them frozen than using Aldara, because Aldara can take months and can be very irritating. Freezing really doesn't hurt much and does not leave scars. You might possibly have to have leftovers re-frozen once or twice. If you wait them out, they'll go away but may take months. You really don't need to worry about back-and-forth infections with your wife.
Avatar n tn I've gotten tested for Herpes and came back negative for HSV-2 but positive for HSV-1. I've used Aldara in the past on a lesion that was burned off, but stopped after 3-4 weeks of use. I've read online that Aldara has a tendency to burn the skin and my dermatologist also mentioned that she has noticed that Aldara always irritates the penis in the location where mine is irritated. I have tried applying 1% hydrocortizone cream with no luck.
