Avatar m tn We have been discussing the possibility of ADHD for about 2 years and finally made the decision to ask the doctor, the doctor gave us the conners parent rating scale but upon looking it over, I noticed that their are several questions that do not apply to my step son, for example: he does not have a hard time making friends, he is a good student- 1st grade, math, spelling he gets good grades, I guess im just wondering if he really could be ADHD if he gets good grades.

Avatar n tn ADHD is very rare and is one of the most over diagnosed of all "syndromes" I would look at a more relaxed daycare before I ever put a child on drugs. Look up the side effects now and maybe read the feingold cookbook for hyperactive kids.

Avatar n tn s developmental history, examining the family history, examining the recent school performance and school history, collecting standardized data via commonly-used behavior checklists (e.g., ADHD Rating Scale-IV, Basic Assessment System for Children, Child Behavior Checklist, Conners Behavior Checklist) which are completed by both parents and teachers, and scrutinizing the child's performance on any intelligence testing (e.g., WISC) that might be available.
Avatar n tn He simply said my Biopsy was bad and that I had a high Knodell scale rating. I was soo detached as he talked, I just shook my head as if I understood, while I actually heard very little. To clarify what this means, "What questions should I ask him?" How does this score relate to Tx? Thanx!!
Avatar n tn Also, you might want to ask the school psychologist/counselor about possible symptoms of ADHD - a simple rating scale, such as the Vanderbilt Scales or the ADHD Rating Scale or the short-form Conners can be used to obtain a glimps of the symptoms.
Avatar n tn I have a 6 1/2 yr old daughter. She is the middle of 3 girls, and always seems to run off of a motor...never ever stopping. This week we have gone over her reading homework at least 2 times every evening, and she took her test today on it, and got a D- I don't understand, and I don't want to just put her on meds for the rest of her childhood. I was wondering what everyone thought about the possibility of a food allergy?
Avatar f tn It seems that there are many different methods of rating and tracking mood and each one has a different granularity when it comes to the rating scale. Our goal with the mood tracker is to allow as much granularity as possible and in the future, we would like to change the mood scale to support that. Hopefully that solution will allow you to do the -5 to 5 rating scale. We'll let you know when something more granular is available.
Avatar n tn s rating scale to see if he was ADHD and the score was not quite high enough for him to be diagnosed as having ADHD. They say that he needs some behavior counseling, so that is what I am going to try and get for him, but was wondering if there were any other ideas from some other parents. Thank you for any advice at this time.
Avatar n tn Prior to the evaluation, see if you can complete a standardized rating scale that can help to pinpoint the presence of a condition such as Asperger's. A well regarded scale of this sort is the GILLIAM ASPERGER'S DISORDER SCALE. The psychologist can score it and interpret it and then discuss it with you.
Avatar f tn Ferritin is a test for adults? O_o "Serum ferritin is the most accurate test indicating iron status within normal range as well as iron deficiency and excess. Avatar m tn Would you consider changing the pain rating scale from 1-5 to 1-10 in the pain tracker? It would help with precision.

585414 tn?1288941302 This is the closest I've come to recovery from tardive psychosis. I've had it for 10 years, most of the time, it was not known by anyone. Including science. There were sporadic case studies of this "hypothetical condition" and one that said "tardive psychosis is the hardest form of psychosis to treat". Let's change that to "was". It CAN be treated. And identified. But how did it start?
Avatar f tn Dear elviss11, Basically the terms used are descriptors of the the abnormalities seen which are summarized with a BIRADS rating of 4. BIRADS scale is a rating system used by radiologists to categorize findings on a mammogram or ultrasound. The scale runs from 1 to 5. 1 being nothing to comment on to 5 being highly suggestive of malignancy.
Avatar n tn IF THEY RATED ME A 5 ON THE BIRADS SCALE AFTER MY ULTRASOUND WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? This discussion is related to birad rating system.
Avatar n tn Dear MikeCristina, Stage 4 breast cancer refers to cancer that has spread to another area of the body away from the breast. What you may be referring to here is a rating of 4 on the BIRADS scale used when interpreting a mammogram or ultrasound. In that case a BIRADS rating of 4 describes a suspicious looking abnormality that is not characteristic but has a reasonable probability of malignancy, and a biopsy should be considered. So there is a possiblility that it is non-cancerous as well.
Avatar n tn Dear sheilamac, BI-RADS rating scale for rating mammograms has five categories ranging from 1 (negative, nothing to comment on) to 5 (highly suggestive of malignancy). A 4 rating means there is a suspicious looking abnormality, not characteristic but has a reasonable probability of malignancy. Biopsy should be considered. That is about as much that can be offered at this point in terms of prediction of what your biopsy results might be.
Avatar n tn There are 18 diagnostic criteria for ADHD, and these 18 criteria represent various symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity (children do not have to manifest all of the symptoms to qualify for the diagnosis). It's best not to try to assess this yourself, although the criteria are widely avaialble in books and on the internet.
Avatar f tn Dear Kate062, The BIRADS scale is a rating system used by radiologists to categorize findings on a mammogram. The scale runs from 1 to 5. (1 being nothing to comment on. Routine screening) to (5 being highly suggestive of malignancy). A rating of 0 just indicates that additional evaluation to clarify findings is recommended. In this case the dense area finding needs more clarification which is why the ultrasound has been recommended.
