it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. Already I am not able to take my Prevacid the way it should be taken because it will interfer with the Synthroid. Boniva would complicate my pill schedule even more. I am just not sold on the fact that I need to take it. There is no history of ostero in my family and I wonder if I can do the same thing with food. t have a malfunctioning parathyroid - because excess calcium from pills etc. can give you a heart attack or stroke along with organ damage and kidney stones. Be very careful. Checking calcium is easy and fairly cheap. And if you have a parathyroid problem, do NOT take vitamin D. If you have low vitamin D in your blood and high calcium, do not try to enter more vitamin D into your diet. If you do, you put yourself at substantial risk for a stroke.
