Hello, Itchy skin that isn't accompanied by other obvious skin changes, such as a rash, is most often caused by dry skin (xerosis). Dry skin usually results from environmental factors that you can wholly or partially control. These include hot or cold weather with low humidity levels, long-term use of air conditioning or central heating, and washing or bathing too much. Other conditions cause itchy skin as well.

You should wash the area and keep it clean, apply calamine lotion at the site and take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine for your symptoms. It would be best to consult a skin specialist if the rash does not resolve in a few days. You should get the relevant investigations as advised by your doctor including blood work. Let us know about what your doctor advises and if you have any other doubts. Post us about how you are doing. Regards.
Do you have any hives or rash? Have you gone hiking and maybe brushed against a plant you may be allergic too. It sounds much like an allergy to something. If you can take benedryl at night. It will help with the sleeping and the itching. Cortisone topical may help but be sure to not get it in your eyes or on your face. Have you changed your laundry detergent? There must be something new. If not it is from a plant or a new shirt or something like that. A new perfume, makeup. New medicine?
I have days where I feel so weak and tired and my legs and arms feel weak. He said I need the medicine. I was on one other one and my hole body gotthis rash and my skin stated breaking open, I was on steriiod shots for 1 week and then the pills for 1 week and a steriod cream. They took me off the BP med and changed it. The dr. said that med can do that. So maybe ask your dr. to change your Med's and see if its one of them, I am suprise none of them has done that as of yet..
He provided me with Hydroxyzine which helped a bit but did not work as well for me as Benadryl. I also saw a dermatologist who checked my full body. He did not find a rash and also could not find any evidence of scabies. He prescribed a moisturizing lotion for my legs as well as Permethrin. The symptoms continued through May until another internal medicine doctor prescribed me a 5 day course of Methylprednisolone.
Hello, From the symptoms that the rash has spread to the whole body in very less time raises the doubts of this rash being due to an allergic reaction or a viral infection. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and consult a dermatologist soon so as to confirm the diagnosis. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
- no fluid and no yellowish. FYI, my whole body is itching. Is it caused by allergic reaction?? Do reply soonest possible. Many thanks....
Give him or her the whole story. You need an objective opinion from someone who has the benefit of the whole picture. I have little doubt that you can get this cleared up and off your family's mind. Good luck. Dr.

I've tried using different soaps and shampoos, and I change my bed sheets every two weeks. I don't think that it's just dry skin because my skin has been dry every winter, yet this is the only time that I've ever been so itchy in my life.. and I don't think that dry skin would cause white bumps.. The white part(s) are also sometimes like lines, but get more swelled and start to look more like bumps.
Hello, Since the itching is present over the whole body and that too without any visible rash, so I would like to rule out dry skin or xerosis in your case. Dry skin usually results from environmental factors that you can wholly or partially control. These include hot or cold weather with low humidity levels, long-term use of air conditioning or central heating, and washing or bathing too much. Take some anti itch lotion and apply it all over the body.
this is something that has began in the last month or so where i will wake up and feel like my whole top half of my body esp chest area is vibrating/trembling... if i try to check if it's my heart i can't feel anything because the vibrating is stronger than my hearts beat. The trembling stops once i have got out of bed and move about.
Maybe the next day, or the day after, I started developing a rash all over my body. It started with my upper body and eventually covered all of my body except for my genitalia area and my neck/head. It didn't itch or have any three dimensional bumps, as I can remember, but, literally, there were red spots covering my whole body for a few days.
I have numbness (loss of feeling) over my whole body. I finished taking Azithromycin and Prednisone on Monday. Do they have anything to do with it? If so, when can I expect it to improve?
My skin has dried out noticeably around the sites of the rash, which has now spread all over my body. My scalp itches, my whole body itches. I am very worried and appreciate any help or explanation that could possibly explain what kind of skin problem I am experiencing, and whether or not it can be cured. Thank you.
I woke up this morning with a pinkish-red rash on my whole body. My arms, stomach, lower back, thighs, hips.... Its itches a little on places like the inside of my elbow and where my bra is rubbing under my arm pit.... but generally it doesnt itch. In some spots it looks like red pin dots but also blotchy..... Any ideas?
Hello, It can be due to an allergy or hives. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes. If the symptoms persist then topical or oral steroids may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Even in the palms of her hands It doesnt itch, and is not painful, and its not in a pattern but just completely covers her whole body. Her skin feels kinda rough and is a bit dry now as its winter here and I didnt want to put any cream on her as Im not sure what the rash is. She didnt have a fever yet or any cold symptoms. She doesnt seem sick either. She ate some haddock and brown rice flour, and the pharmacist said it might be a food allergy, so gave her Allergex. Does this sound right?
I have little skin colored bumps. All over my body. They do not itch. They are very small, almost not noticeable. Look like insect bites. Could these be a heat rash or something else? Let know please.
Fungal infections also come up whenever there is moisture or temperature difference and Tinea versicolor can cause whole body itch. Over the counter antihistamines help. Calamine lotions and other over the counter preparations with camphor/menthol do help to reduce the itch. Try a soft cotton ball dipped in cool water applied over the itchy areas instead. Calamine lotions and other over the counter preparations with camphor/menthol can be applied after the cool water application.
I just got this rash, it looks like little bumps, at first there are a white spot around the red bump and then my whole leg turns red, when my leg is red in some spots it looks like my flesh just got slabbed on my body it is raised. it is hot and itchy. I have tried Aveeno and it did nothing, I also bought benadrill cream and it helped the swelling but then it started to turn parts of my legs purple, I have also tired cortisone 1 percent and 10 percent.
My 9 yr old daughter broke out in hives (according to her doctor) after 7days of augmenton taken for strep. It covered her whole body even palms of hands and soles of feet. After two days of no med. it seemed to ease up and some went away. But now after 4 weeks there are still many spots mostly on her torso and upper limbs. They look dry and scaly and still itch slightly. The doctor said it could be Pityriasis Rosea, but she has had no mother patch. How can it go from hives to Pityriasis.
