Avatar f tn Normally I don't have that bad of sensitive skin, but since the past few weeks I have noticed that when I take a shower and use my loofa sponge and coco butter body wash (which I have used for about a year now) I break out with a rash on my stomach. Also I took a bath tonight, just plain water, not hot of course and noticed that I broke out with a rash on my stomach AND my chest. What is going on? Is this normal?
Avatar f tn just started treatment 5 days ago (it already feels like forever). I have many symptoms, but the latest and greatest is my skin is so sensitive!! I have a rash on my torso, but it's not so much itchy as incredibly sensitive. Trying to dress for work everyday is awful, does anyone have any good tips on managing this?? Is everyone else working through their treatment?
Avatar f tn Hi, At first I thought it was shingles, but the rash has no fluid-filled blisters, and no independent dots are noticeable. It is just red and itchy. I've been putting anti-itch cream, taking showers with oatmeal bath, and keep the water at high levels of heat. Unfortunately, the rash has expanded. now it has gone up my back and on the core of my stomach. Also for some reason, I have an itchy rash on my hands and thighs.
Avatar m tn hello, can hiv be transmitted through the encounter of verginal fluids with sensitive skin. By sensitive i mean that no blood can be observed but the upper layer may have been ripped off so if salt is sprinkled it hurts but there are no signs of blood or a cut only the upper layer of skin may be ripped off. secondly if the fluids are completely dry or at best slightly sticky what difference does this make.
4936507 tn?1365361667 Hi everyone. I have what I have chalked up to be just extremely sensitive skin, but only in certain areas. It started a couple of years ago when moisturizers I was using around my eyes and eyelids suddenly started causing a weird rash just under my eyebrows. It feels like it has been scratched and it itches and burns like crazy if I put anything on it. I started trying all different kinds of all natural, hypoallergenic, organic, etc types of moisturizers, all with the same affect.
Avatar m tn However, these should be used only after consultation with a dermatologist and with caution in the pubic area, with extra care not to touch anywhere beyond the skin. For folliculitis you could use OTC ointments containing benzoyl peroxide/ clindamycin. Hope this helps. Take care!
1583124 tn?1296634833 There is no redness or rash. Its not swollen nor is there anything visible to the naked eye. She says its sore when something brushes against it or to the touch. It is also sore when left alone (but not as much as when something touches it). Its been about 5 hours since it started hurting. It is located in her lower back. Any ideas what this might be?
Avatar m tn There is no rash, no redness, or anything else. The skin looks completely normal. It started in my left armpit, shortly after shaving, so I ignored it at first assuming it was razor burn. The area has spread now and covers the full armpit, and works its way into my arm, and around the back to my shoulder blade. It has also started on my left hip and the area there is getting larger as well.
Avatar n tn Shingles will in time, present with a rash but it can be sensitive prior to the development of one. The first sign of the condition is a tingling or sensitivity of the skin in the affected area and than pain should follow. Pain may be perceived differently by everyone. The nerves supplying the chest and abdomen are commonly affected. The rash usually appears several days after the pain begins but it can take longer. Shingles affect only one side of the body. I would watch for a rash.
Avatar n tn I came on the internet to search more for this condition, because my husband just started to complain of the same symptoms; sunburn like sensitive skin but no rash or redness.
Avatar m tn It is strange because there is No RASH, no bruising, no bumps like shingles (which I had at 28), it hurts to wear clothing, to be touched, lay in bed anything. I've read many possible answers.. I have not seen a Dr yet as typically, I do not get answers from them only bills. any suggestions would be welcome.

335728 tn?1331414412 However, on Monday I got up and under my arm the skin felt as if there was a rash on it (liken it to a rash from rough clothing against your skin) but there is nothing there! As the day progressed the pain progressed and by the time I went to bed last night the pain had grown to include the whole underarm area and also my shoulder blade area on my back. It felt as though the skin was on fire and yet there was no redness or anything.
Avatar n tn Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching. No treatment is usually required. In most patients, the condition lasts only a matter of weeks or months(upto six months) If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.Other possibilities have to be ruled out then.
Avatar f tn nearly ever sunscreen I have ever tried has caused a fine, itchy rash that makes my skin feel tight. It takes 3-5 days of using the product for the rash to appear. Upon stopping the sunscreen, it takes about 2 weeks for the rash to go away. There are very few sunscreens that my face seems to tolerate. They are the "natural" sunscreens (Origins and Burt's Bees, JASON). However, I am indian and they make me look sickly, grey. I am a professional and need to look presentable.
Avatar n tn I have sensitive skin and I've been using one particular brand of lotion all my life because it's the only brand that didn't break me out, and I never had any strange reactions when I used it. Then recently when I used it I started to feel burning and stinging on my skin. This also happens with other lotions too that never used to make my skin burn until recently. Is there any way I can treat this problem or get help for it? Please help.
Avatar f tn Try Neosporin cream, worked immediately to stop pain and in 2 days no more pain. I do believe was shingles but no rash.
Avatar n tn Hi, This could indeed be be due to irritation, infection or other skin condition such as dermatitis. The skin of the glans is very sensitive and can be easily damaged, which may lead to infection. Irritation of the skin can be caused by the soap you are using, over-washing or scrubbing, chemicals in some condoms, spermicides, and lubricants, or some washing powders or fabric conditioners that are not completely rinsed from the underwear. Try to use mild soap and detergents.
Avatar m tn I am having a problem with a rash that radiates downward from the sides of my lips. There are no blisters or bumps, it's just red. This area is also particularly dry with flaky skin, particularly close to the sides of the lips. Sweat and toothpaste cause the redness to increase significantly and produce pain. The toothpaste I'm using is very strong - Aquafresh Extreme Clean. From the time I began using it the area has become increasingly more irritated.
Avatar m tn ) my penis sometimes develops a rash on the head an upper shaft. If I scratch it enough, it becomes raw. The rash usually results in the skin eventually flaking off/peeling once the rash/cold runs it's course (1-2 weeks). Is this some sort of herpes or something? It's not like little bumps, but more of a broad area that gets reddish/purplish.
Avatar f tn I have used this filter on my shower and never got the rash. I have extremely sensitive skin and used Lubriderm twice a day and the clorine filter and went the entire winter/spring/summer treating for Hep C. Hope this information helps.
Avatar f tn You may try skin ointment with Cortisone that is designed for sensitive skin maybe something from the baby aisle. Per WebMD. This medication is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., insect bites, poison oak/ivy, eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash, itching of the outer female genitals, anal itching). Hydrocortisone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a mild corticosteroid.
