1498386 tn?1403027653 Now that we are ttc and found out I have PCOS I have been struggling with the weight loss. So far in 8 months I have only been able to loss 30lbs. What really helped me was that I took out the high calorie foods and drinks ie: Starbucks and all pop. I will only drink pop when we go out to eat because I hate restaurant water (most places do not filter). Starbucks is a rare thing for me now I just can’t pass up the Pumpkin Spice thank goodness its only seasonal.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any success stories about losing weight after being put on Synthroid? I would like to hear some encouraging words. I have gained 50 pds. and are miserable. I have not been on meds long enough to tell any difference in energy or hunger, but I am hopeing there will be some difference in the future.

Avatar f tn Hi all, I am severely depressed & have been taking Prozac for a month now & my doc suggested Abilify to add. I had already put on 30lbs from lexapro, which is part of becoming depressed again. I have been on the Abilify for 6days now & can tell it is having a positive impact on me. I have had enough motivation to work out the past two days & I am really watching what I'm eating. Has anyone here had success with losing weight on Abilify & prozac?
Avatar m tn m also interested in finding out if there are other medically supervised weight-loss programs in the Chester/Chesterfield, South Richmond, or Tri-Cities areas - so far, Hall-Harris is the nearest one I can find! Thanks for sharing!

1519601 tn?1298475950 You might get better answers from those on the Weight Loss alternatives forum....... on this forum, we don't generally advocate weight loss aids such as that........ While it may take longer, it's much safer to implement a healthy diet and exercise program that you can stick with over the long haul For most people using weight loss aids of this nature, weight loss may occur, but as soon as you stop taking the med, you gain back all the weight (often with even more)........
Avatar f tn Welcome. It's best to make lifestyle changes that you will be able to live with for the rest of your life. Too often, when taking weight loss pills or supplements or going on a "diet", the weight is gained back as soon as the weight loss program is stopped; not to mention that some weight loss methods have some rather "unpleasant" side effects.
1046985 tn?1305117048 Has anyone got any advice, or stories of hope. I have heard that ovarian problems can cause weight gain, and that its almost a given with menopause, aaargh..
172023 tn?1334672284 Its clear that there are a lot of proponents of chemically assisted weight loss here. This forum, however, is not for that purpose. There is another forum, called WEIGHT LOSS ALTERNATIVES, that is for discussion of supplements, surgery, and other assisted methods.
Avatar f tn If your on metformin and if your overweight and on a diet, your symptoms will improve with weight loss. Im on metformin 500mg 1x a day plus birth control. I also take a multi viatmin and another vitamin called Super B Complex (it has a ton of vitamin in it, also it helps with hair skin and nails, well thats what it says on the bottle) I've noticed while taking everything, my symptoms are getting better. My periods use to be about 4-5 days while on bc pills, now it last 3 days.
Avatar f tn s not proper weight loss with hyper thyroid because of the muscle loss and that needs to go back in. I too wish there were more positive stories - I have grown very sceptical of endless people saying they've gained 4 or 4 stone. I am back to my pre-op positive attitude that now I'm not too ill to exercise, I'm going to make 'the most of it and not sit around doing nothing and making excuses.
Skulleton If you were my patient, I would advise you to check into a few different weight loss plans--that way when you get bored with one, you can move to another. Believe it or not, Weight Watchers is one of the absolute best success stories around--probably because it is more than a diet--it teaches you to change your bad eating habits. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn You definitely need to ask your Dr. Everyone here can give you personal stories, but I think it is an important issue that is sensitive to each individual, depending on your pregnancy risk, your blood pressure, etc.
Avatar n tn html There are many success stories of people losing weight on topamax. If you read the side effects, weight loss is one of them. It helps suppress the desire to eat even smoking which I have quit too. I have had all blood tests ran on me. I've been going to my doctor for 10 years. I like how you just jump to conclusions without doing any research. For anyone else who has any experience using this please write.
Avatar f tn Anyone have any good tips and or experiences for losing the pregnancy weight after giving birth?
393685 tn?1425812522 There has been new information released recently on the use of particular weight loss drugs and the use of Levothyroxine together. The specific weight loss medication is Alli ( which is the brand name for the medication Rx Orlistat) Orlistat is a drug that promotes fat-blocking - taken with meals to help block some of the fat -- and therefore fewer intake of calories -- from meals, and aids in some weight loss.
