Interesting...When you say 50% of muscle, where you referring to weight loss? Weight now/then?
as you go along.. and loose abit of weight after the first week..you will start eating better and better on your own. You don't need to diet...but excercise is good too..start by stretching...that's not hard to do..and build up slowly..it does happen..If I did it, anyone can.
I was diagnosed with papillary thryoid cancer 2 years ago and had my entire thyroid removed. After the surgery I wasn't losing any weight or gaining, while eating a healthy diet, so I began an exercise program 3 days a week with a personal trainer. That was over a year ago. I haven't lost an ounce. I am healthier and I've lost almost 3 dress sizes, but no weight. I know I've gained some muscle; however, will I ever lose the pounds?
15 pounds in a month is too much to do safely. Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week. What have you tried, so far?
now Im 330 and still strugling with my weight I've tried everything dieting, exercising and some pills. Im scared of surgery. I need help this weight loss is hard. I do want desperately to loose this weight I already have high blood pressure and would not want anything else.
You can buy a heart rate monitor for about $50-$60. You burn 30 percent more fat from doing cardio after a weights session as opposed to cardio on its own. Before doing anything get the OK from your doctor!!
I know a lot of people have trouble getting the weight off. How many moms had problems getting their weight back down and what did you do to get it down? Just wondering is all, because I really just want to go back to normal after I have bubs.
I have a main goal of weight loss that I have had for two years. I have concentrated on it every day through diet and exercise. My problem is my weight, 10 stone 6 (i'm 5' 7'' dress size 10) has not moved. I am a fitness instructor so understand what I am doing but am desperate as I have tried every option. I have been exercising 6 days a week, 2-4 hrs a day and training hard, cv and weights.
You have to burn more calories than you take in, in order to lose weight. Do you know what your BMR is? You will use some calories through your BMR - it's been said, approximately 50% of the calories you use/day will be BMR, the rest will be exercise. If you're hitting that 2900 calorie mark, you're probably eating too many.
25 mcg might be plenty for some people, while 50 mcg might be way too much. You might be fine with a starting dose of 50 mcg, but it would have been way too much for me. It's always best to start with the lowest dose and work your way up slowly, giving your body time to adjust to the medication. When looking for an endo, be careful, there too. Many endos specialize in diabetes and are not good thyroid doctors.
And in reality, this isn’t the case either. Now, to understand how exercise effects weight-loss, you have to understand how your body creates energy, and there are only 2 ways it does it. One is by burning fat and the other is by burning blood sugar, or glucose. Even when you’re not doing anything strenuous your body still burns fat. It’s known as “Resting Metabolic Rate.” So, when you’re sitting at a desk, driving a car, watching TV, or even sleeping, your body is still burning fat.
) I also heard that a cleanse could also jumpstart your wieght loss. I did one before and I did lose a little weight -- colonix is the one I did. Anyway -- I commend you for sticking to it.
I have never in my life needed a Wonder Bra but I sure did after that weight loss! I don't want to get skinny again. A 25 - 30 pound loss would make me happy.
went to the gym today after work & handed in my food diary wich I did for 2weeks . my Instructer also weighed me & measured me has well today. I was so HAPPY that I had lost 6lbs :-) I didn't think I lost anything . I have also lost 8 1/2 " all over my body to, & my body fat was 50% on 11/10/10, 22/10/10 it was 47.3% & now on 9/11/10 my body fat is 46.3%................
First off CONGRATULATIONS on a great loss! WOW! Sounds like with such a significant weight loss, surgery might be your only option. My mom had GBP and is waiting to have the surgery to remove the skin left from her loss of over 100 lbs. I have always been told to drink plenty of water during diet and exercise to give your skin elasticity (sp), it will help it shrink with your body. But let's face it, you have lost an entire person and your skin is never going to retract that much.

Conscious of eating less than 1500 calories per day/ 35-50 carbs. Can not lose weight. I take metformin, zocor, toprol, lotrel ( minimal dosage ) What can I do ? Maximum effort - no results.
Absolutely. I lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks. Have you had off the hook anxiety for the last 6 to 8 months? For me everything tasted like cardboard and I had no desire to eat. If that is the case for you, it isn't healthy to be in this state of anxiety so you may want to consider talking to your doctor again.
Quick question I had a Gastric Emptying Scan that came back abnormal. I was told that after 90 min. 50% emptying is normal, but I only had 30% emptying. I have never vomited due to any of my digestive issues. To the threadstarter, what happens to you when you eat fresh frutis and vegetables?
My doc recently prescribed me Topomax for migraines as well as some nerve damage. He also mentioned the side affect of weight loss (which will be a blessing if this is in fact true since I could stand to lose some weight). He started me out on 25 mg for a week, 50 for the second week, 75 for the 3rd week and 100 4th week. Can anyone tell me how they felt on the Topomax as far as the weight loss went? Did they feel not hungry? Nauseaous? Stomach pain?
