Swollen glands muscle aches

Common Questions and Answers about Swollen glands muscle aches

Avatar_m_tn This started 3 weeks ago when I noticed mildly swollen neck glands and abdominal pain. As the week progressed the pain increased to the point it was difficult even sitting up. The pain then manifested as neck and back pain during the second week and fatigue. Now into my third week I have mild aches and pains pretty much all over the place, primarily my back, I'm still fatigued and obviously very concerned. My doc set up blood tests which were taken yesterday. Any possible causes?
Avatar_n_tn 7 days later after sex, i had a sore throat, after this, very strong muscle aches had started at the second week, i had swollen glands( lymph nodes) in groin, under my chin, and armpit. They are still exist and also i am in 43 rd day. For three days i had a rash on my hip for three days...And also i have pain abdoman(abdomen, kidney area) After that i went to laboratory for test at 23 rd day. Avatar_f_tn No fever, no rash and no swollen glands as far as I could tell. I'm getting tested as soon as it will be conclusive but until then freaking out. Can anyone give me info on how often there's no fever, rash etc? I know symptoms aren't conclusive but a little help would be nice. Thanks...
Avatar_n_tn Thanks for the response. My symptoms are severe myalgia in all extremeties with a feeling of denervation, periodic sinuitis and swollen lymph glands in neck, sore throat, & peripheral neuropathy. I don't get very tired however and my rhuem ruled out CFS. He may prescribe Valrex since EBV is in the herpes family. Has anyone ever tried this or any type of anti-viral drug? Any other treatment suggestions?

Avatar_m_tn I will be more specific. My submental glands are swollen and my submandibular gland is swollen. Under my jaw there is like a knot that has been there for 2 months. I am seeing an ENT next Tuesday. But what could i really have if all blood was fine?
Avatar_n_tn For the past 3 months now I have been having strange symptoms like nausea, dizziness (extreme at times), headache behind the eye and sensitivity to light, joint/muscle aches and stiffness mostly in hands and feet but occassionally like a full body flu-type attack, weakness in wrists, cold feet and hands that feel like they are plunged in ice water whenever I take a hot bath/shower, constant feeling of cold so that I just can't get warm, occasional hot flashes and chills, exhaustion and sleepine
Avatar_n_tn I have lost over 17 pounds ( ok not such a bad thing, but not for a good reason), my back of my throat is swollen as well as my voice box, which are swollen quite badly. I cough to the extreme as to try and clear my throat.. to the point where I vomit, and my head feels like it is going to explode. I have had a Upper GI done and it came back no problems.. I think they need to do more tests and I am going to make sure they do................Oh and with this..
Avatar_n_tn I have suffered from all of the above (headaches, neck, shoulder, back aches, muscle aches, dizziness, fatigue, bloating, etc.,etc.) for years. Like most of you, I tried all kinds of remedies, went to all kinds of doctors and had very little relief. I finally began to exercise and found that I felt somewhat better.
Avatar_m_tn Too much stress can cause swollen glands and swollen tongue, which I have. Every doc so far thinks its no big deal. Please don't drive yourself nuts. I now have abdominal pain and its scaring the hell out of me but I refuse to let it get to me. I have pain under my belly and right above my crotch. Sometimes it feels like its my testicles until I feel around there and notice that there is really no tender spot. Some type of virus is going around.
Avatar_m_tn From time to time I get headaches and random muscle aches, some abdominal pains, and heartburn/acid reflux. I am not sure if these are contributing factors, but I am just confused; what would cause these glands to stay so hard?
Avatar_f_tn PART 2 Natural Energy Boosters for Chronic Fatigue People with chronic fatigue syndrome — many more women than men — can experience symptoms that range from severe fatigue and low-grade fever to swollen lymph glands and muscle and joint aches. The puzzling array of symptoms associated with chronic fatigue has left many physicians perplexed and many patients open to alternative therapies to help manage their symptoms.
Avatar_m_tn I really think something is really wrong with my thyroid . My thoat and glands are very swollen. my neck does not look or feel normal. I have pain that shoots down my left side of my thyroid. and hurts when i eat or drink. from what I read them are not good signs. I hope to get to see my doc soon then i will post my levels.
Avatar_n_tn It started with a mild fever and sore throat then violent headaches, disorientation, muscle and joint pain, muscle twitching(fasiculation)in all muscle groups, Irregular heart beats, severe stiffening of the jaw and facial muscles, abdominal pain. I too was treated for depression, seen neurologist for EMG, MRI, Cardiologist, ENT specialist, nobody found a thing.
Avatar_n_tn I have no fever associated with any of these things. I did see a doctor today and she seemed to think my neck could be swollen from glands underneath that pushed some muscles out. I guess if these could be ARS symptoms how long until my neck swelling goes down? The doctor also mentioned this could be mono but I have had it before. Thanks again for taking my question. This site is a great resource!
Avatar_n_tn I have seen physicians for several years, chronic pain in back, joints, skin, swollen glands at times, extreme fatigue, fogginess, concentration issues, weight gain, bloating. I feel much worse in the morning when I get out of bed. After I have been up a little while I usually get somewhat better and able to function fairly throught out the day. I am a nurse. I am 50 pounds or so overweight. BMI approximately 36. One physician put me on Dyazide, for fluid retention.
Avatar_m_tn 1) Ignore spots/ Glands, Unless They get Worse. Glands Can be Swollen for Months/Permanently after Viral Infections. It's Normal, Not HIV 2) Stop Hiv Research, I Have Learnt a Lot, but Nothing That Gives me Real Answers. 3) More Exercise/Drink More Water/Eat More Fruit 4) Think Positive, let the Body Heal itself 5) Go See ENT Dr.
1408091_tn?1281412298 other glands in my throat are starting to swell, close to middle of throat...throat still isnt sore, just swollen glands that are somewhat painful...very mild pain, seems to get worse sometimes when i turn my head certain ways. And sometimes I get a metallic taste in the back of my throat also. Not very often though. My sinus cavities hurt more than usual today, no fever. And I've been having some mild abdominal pains, but that may be unrelated. Oh my ears ring sometimes too.
Avatar_n_tn And since then, I've had swollen glands around my collarbone, in and around my armpits, and around my groin. Its on both sides of my body, and some of the nodes are quite large. Anytime I notice a new one, its because its quite tender to the touch, and sometimes even general movement (especially in the armpit). I haven't gone to a doctor because I don't have health insurance and couldn't possibly afford to get any major tests done. I haven't had any recent infections.
Avatar_n_tn You have muscle aches instead of joint pain, correct ? Are you dizzy ? Do you have unrefreshing sleep ? Any allergies ?
Avatar_n_tn Had chills, muscle aches, felt a twinge of discomfort when peeing. - Apr 12 had flu symptoms. Small discomfort when peeing, glands in groin slightly swollen. Thought bladder infection, went to doc that day. Urine sample was fine. Temperature of 100.7. Doc questioned me about possibility of herpes. Doc did an internal exam - no discharge, no lesions anywhere. Doc took a culture. - Apr 13, 14, 15 - felt fine, almost well.
Avatar_n_tn I ended up going to my doctor's. She tested me and everything came back normal, so there was no real explanation for the swollen glands. In hindsight, however, I was a college student and I did drink rather frequently and quite a lot (most college students do without realizing that). I was also under a lot of stress and some emotional problems that I was not very aware of. I really do think that the stress and alcohol combined was the cause of these swollen glands.
