Avatar f tn My mom went to see a Heart Specialist and he recommended the Adenosine Stress Test. She is not having any chest pains, but this he said would make sure there are no blockages. I would like more information about this procedure and is it dangerous? Another doctor had recommended a stress test that involved putting something in her veins and it would make her heart speed up. This Heart Specialist said no, and that this Adenosine Stress Test is not the same thing.
Avatar f tn I just landed in the hospital for severe chest pain, racing heart, high blood pressure, severe dry mouth, anxiety, ..also given nitroglycerin...and stress test. stress test normal except for elevated blood pressure.....I had dinner at a restaurant the night before all this, and a lot of these symptoms are the same as MSG poisoning. I was given the diagnosis of " severe indigestion" and sent home on blood pressure meds.
Avatar f tn What is it like to have A stress test? I was in the hospital for 3 days, last Sept for tightness and throwing up. With that A migraine headache and lower back pain. Has any one experienced these symptoms? Please if you can, help me to understand all of this.
805943 tn?1238093647 It is not normal to have burning in your legs during a stress test and it is not normal for the lower portion of the heart to show up as abnormal in women. If the lower part of your heart is not working correctly, it most likely had been damaged. Your triglyercides need to come down. This can be done with cholesterol medication and a strict diet of very limited meat and lots of fresh vegetables. Brown rice is good, oatmeal, salmon with Omega 3 is healthy for the heart.
Avatar f tn In a low risk pregnancy a non stress test or stress test would only be warranted if their was a concern. However diabetics (both gestational and non) have a higher rate of stillborn babies (still rare, but better to be safe) so its common practice to keep a closer eye as the pregnancy nears the end.
Avatar n tn If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test. The test provides a perfusion of a dye through your vessels at rest and with exercise. Would be or should be able to see any blockages. Blockages would cause chest pain. The statistics for a regular treadmill stress test for diagnosing important disease is approximately 67% or 2/3 rd of patients with coronary artery disease.

Avatar f tn I have been experiencing angina for the past several months and I recently took a nuclear stress test. I can not see the cardiologist until next week so I am hoping you can shed some light on my diagnosis. " The patient reached a maximal heart rate of 154, which is 91% of predicted maximum. There is some thinning of the myocardium near the apex with small area of reversible activity in anteroseptal region.

Avatar m tn Usually, a doctor is on site to be available if the stress test causes an adverse medical problem. And there is a tech that conducts the test and together with the doctor they view an EKG reading as the test progresses. That has been my experience. A nuclear stress test measures blood flow to your heart muscle both at rest and during stress on the heart.
Avatar m tn I have had a hr trend over the last 15 yrs of 46 -standing-40 resting-.Bp 128/70 Suddenly my VA dr is concerned and is doing a work-up.I just had a stress test where my SBP went to 220 @ 4 min.I did not see my diastolic but test was stopped.Original EKG defined the brady but nothing else.ST segment normal. I have been on prophalactic dose of HCT 12.5 for 15 yrs as family history of early cardiac events at 40 yrs old resulting in death. I am essentially asymptomatic.
182884 tn?1259312906 That could be why your cardiologist wishes that you could do the treadmill test as it is both a perfusion test and a stress EKG. The persantine test doesn't put your heart under a workload the way exercise does and so isn't a real stress EKG. But the best news is really that you don't have blocked coronary arteries! Good luck in getting everything else sorted out.
Avatar f tn I recently went for a stress test where i had to walk on a treadmill and was wired up to an ECG machine, during the test at regular intervals the treadmill got faster and steeper, once the test was finished i heard one of the doctors say "I saw one VE on there" i would like to know what this could mean, is anything serious as ive got to wait until April before i go back and see the doctor.
9264354 tn?1408743148 Does anyone else seem to have increased muscle spasms with decreases sleep and stress? I've been working very odd and lat hours as well as juggling home and my mothers health problems lately. With this my neck and lower back and hips are giving me hell.
Avatar n tn I feel like such a jerk posting on here. So many of you are hoping to conceive and here I am whining and moaning that I might be pregnant when I'm not ready to be. I hope you don't think me insensitive! I am so grateful for your answers and the fact that you've all been so gracious when some of you probably want to tell me to quit whining! Just wanted to say thanks for all the great responses and your patience.
Avatar f tn After the most recent test and visit, the stress test, we were told that I need to wear the Holter moniter again. This time for 48 hours. My cardiologist says that she expected the PVCs to stop completely during extreme excercise but they only decreased. I can't get anymore information out of the cardiologist or the office, and they aren't telling my regular doctor anything at all.
Avatar f tn Anyone know?
