Avatar f tn My mom went to see a Heart Specialist and he recommended the Adenosine Stress Test. She is not having any chest pains, but this he said would make sure there are no blockages. I would like more information about this procedure and is it dangerous? Another doctor had recommended a stress test that involved putting something in her veins and it would make her heart speed up. This Heart Specialist said no, and that this Adenosine Stress Test is not the same thing.
Avatar f tn I just landed in the hospital for severe chest pain, racing heart, high blood pressure, severe dry mouth, anxiety, ..also given nitroglycerin...and stress test. stress test normal except for elevated blood pressure.....I had dinner at a restaurant the night before all this, and a lot of these symptoms are the same as MSG poisoning. I was given the diagnosis of " severe indigestion" and sent home on blood pressure meds.
Avatar f tn I have had severe chest pain and shortness of breath. Tightness of the chest alot at night . I have to have A stress test next week. What is it like to have A stress test? I was in the hospital for 3 days, last Sept for tightness and throwing up. With that A migraine headache and lower back pain. Has any one experienced these symptoms? 805943 tn?1238093647 My stress test was a little harder than I thought it would be, within a min my legs were burning like I had run a marathon and I could hardly breathe. My Dr. said the lower portion of my heart was showing up abnormal but he wasn't worried because it usually is in women. The nurse at the Dr.'s office asked me if they had told me I had a heart attack and I said No and she just shook her head.
Avatar f tn In a low risk pregnancy a non stress test or stress test would only be warranted if their was a concern. However diabetics (both gestational and non) have a higher rate of stillborn babies (still rare, but better to be safe) so its common practice to keep a closer eye as the pregnancy nears the end.
Avatar n tn An Echo Stress Test or a Nuclear Stress Test, if the doctor is suspecting coronary artery disease. However, a regular stress may be sufficient in stable patients or those with a low suspicion of coronary artery disease who are being assessed for exercise tolerance (for example, prior to undergoing a structured exercise or rehab program). If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test.
Avatar f tn Internet monster hit againENT said sore throat and white tounge are reflux put me on meds said will take 2 to 4 weeks to start feeling better and that I am doing it to myself with anxiety and stress . Avatar f tn ok I have had the stress test for abnormal EKG, I passed this test with flying colors but have not yet heard the results. Would this be a good thing?
Avatar f tn I really hope you feel better! Idk the answers to your questions though but I remember when I cried with my first baby I got little pains too.
Avatar f tn Had a stress test there is a large sized anterior walldefect extending to the apex and septal wall. There is a samll sized distal anteroapical defecdt extending to the septal wall. Small sized fixed distal anteroapical defect textending to the septal wall consistent wiht myocardial scar. What does all this mean. I an 70 year old female with family heart history.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing angina for the past several months and I recently took a nuclear stress test. I can not see the cardiologist until next week so I am hoping you can shed some light on my diagnosis. " The patient reached a maximal heart rate of 154, which is 91% of predicted maximum. There is some thinning of the myocardium near the apex with small area of reversible activity in anteroseptal region.
Avatar m tn Went for a heart stress test. After I'm hooked up to the machine a woman comes into the room to gives me the test. She doesn't introduce herself other than telling me her name. I don't know what her credentials are. She gives me the test then tells me about a minor negative reading and recommends I have Nuclear stress test. She does not consult with the cardiologist. I find this odd but don't want to question her.
182884 tn?1259312906 That could be why your cardiologist wishes that you could do the treadmill test as it is both a perfusion test and a stress EKG. The persantine test doesn't put your heart under a workload the way exercise does and so isn't a real stress EKG. But the best news is really that you don't have blocked coronary arteries! Good luck in getting everything else sorted out.
Avatar f tn 55 into the test when I passed out. In that 4:55, I had frequent pvc's; 2 PVC couplets and 1 PVC triplet and my QRS segment of PVC's narrowed substantially with exercise, widening again in recovery (180 ms to 80 ms) which I was told was a problem.
Avatar f tn Anyone know?
Avatar n tn To clarify, I did undergo a nuclear stress test prior to my heart cath. The stress test indicated there was blockage in one of the arteries. So I was stunned when I was told that I was a false positive and there was no blockage! I thought that a stress test was more reliable! I think my physician was being extra cautious because I have diabetes and because my father died of a massive heart attack at the age of 54. I guess I am now trying to figure out what do I do now?
Avatar f tn Doctor, thanks for your answers. I'm confused, though, if the perfusion defect is due to a stenosis and this degree of stenosis could cause pain with exertion, why isn't that already considered significant heart disease? Also, my LDL is 48 mg/dl, HDL 76, total cholesterol 134. Would lipid lowering meds provide any additional protection in my case?
Avatar n tn s why they are doing the cath. I have no blockages yet have EF 17% and stress test images show severe damage and restricted perfusion. If it is a blockage, and they can stent it, you should be pretty much back to "normal" shortly after. Disclaimer: I am NOT a doctor. Do not rely on my opinion or advise. Avatar f tn I was told I had runs of SVT on the monitor and that I needed a few more tests. So I had an exercise stress test done. I only walked for 4 minutes before my heart rate was 190. I had to get off the treadmill right after that. Should I be worried about this? Any ideas of what could be causing this to happen to me?
Avatar f tn I saw him again last week because I am still getting the symptoms and wanted to get to the bottom of it once and for all. He ordered an echo and stress test which I am having done tomorrow and also a 2 week monitor from cardionet, which I just put on tonight. My question is this- how likely is it that this is stress related and what do I need to know about the monitor?
