Hello, I am 10 weeks today and have a horrible sore throat. It's red and inflamed but no white spots indicating strep. I think it's from post nasal drip, I am also choking up phlegm mostly clear and light yellow. I used the netti pot twice today so far and it's helped my nose but not throat. Also tried a shot of apple cider vinegar and failed spectacularly at getting it down. I do not want to take over the counter medicine but I know you ladies will have more natural ideas.
Also haven't had much of an appetite at all.. I think I'd be lucky to say I've eaten 1 good sized meal each of the last two days.
Then my voice became rough and then I developed a sore throat. So I took some drinking medication for the cold-flu and coughs, to cure my throat. It didn't work.
Well after a day or two of completing the medicine, I got dry nose condition. Everytime I breathe, I feel my nasal passage getting dry which is a very uncomfortable feeling. I felt the inside of my nose and noticed there were dried mucus. Now I got a sore throat and a dry nose.
After that, I woke up with a Cough and Ear Ache in the middle of the night. That morning I woke up with a sore throat and a popped ear (same ear). The sore throat lasted a few days, the popped ear was gone within 2. Its been 9 days now, and I feel much better. I have had a lot less cough. I still dont feel 100% . I feel like i have a lump in my throat, making swallowing a struggle. When I clear my throat, I cough up normal light green/white phlegm.
I am having phlegm problem and soar throat from last one year i have been to GP many times first they give me the omeprazole and gaviscon but it didnt work so they send me for endoscopy but everything was fine so they refer to ENT specialist and he send me for barium swallow test and over there they find out that i have small hiatius hernia and they give me the lanzaprazole 30mg morning and 30 mg evening but that didnt work as well so they send me for chest xray and the result is: there is minim
About 10 days ago, I was at this event in which I ended up breathing a lot of second hand smoke and, worst of all, second hand vaping. I have never smoked or vaped myself.
The next morning, I woke up with a slightly sore throat, I thought it may have been due to the cold weather or something, and it disappeared in about an hour or so so I quickly forgot about it.
I get a bad sore throat every night and it lasts through the morning until I have my water/coffee then I am fine the rest of the day.
Should I be concerned or is this just due to the extra phlegm pregnancy produces? I have a doc appt tomorrow so I will ask then, just curious if anyone else has this daily (annoying) sore throat.

Ideally you should consult a chest specialist like you did. A comprehensive investigation including CBC, throat swab, allergic tests, X-rays, examination with a scope in throat, spirometry etc is required keeping all the points in mind.
I take tylenols to ease away my headache. I also had some dark green phlegm that I spit out when I wake up and sore throat too.
I asked a doctor about it and she told me to take ambroxol (mucolytic) and some loratadine. She told me that I may be having some allergy attack. I finished taking the dosage and I felt a little better but I still have the same symptoms.
Here are what I'm feeling the past week, I hope someone will take time to explain to me what possibly I have.
About a week ago I woke up with a sore throat and ear ache. I gargled with salt water and took pain killers for a couple days until it all went away. Now I have developed a cough which always seems to produce phlegm and in the morning, when I wake up, my chest feels kind of heavy and it's harder to breathe but after a hard cough some phlegm comes up and it's fine for the rest of the day.
I have sore throat, cough and occasional runny nose. I,otherwise feel generally ok. Then I started noticing something behind my throat. Could be strep but can anyone clarify. This are the links for the images (warning it's pictures of the suspected pseudomembrane)

About 10 days after the last time, I developed a sore throat, low fever and fatigue. The fever was never significant and went away within 24 hours. The sore throat subsided significantly and is immediately relieved (usually in the morning) after coughing up green / yellow phlegm congestion. On Day 3 now, sore throat is almost non-existent except mild upon waking in the morning and then gone for the rest of the day after coughing up congestion / phlegm first thing in the morning.
I had a bout of sore throat and something like a flu about 3 weeks back. I was given amoxycilin 250mg for 5 days, but till now, I have been experiencing a dark brownish mucous from my nose when I suck my mucous back and spit it out during the mornings. Throughout the day, when I blow my nose, there will be occasional green mucous too. But phlegm that I cough out is colourless. My throat is only very slightly sore occasionally.
I have been told it is pluersy but why am I getting these so often and I am only 27 yrs old? I dont undrstand it. I have to clear my throat till its sore and still the mucus continues to rise in my throat... I cough constantly with the symptoms becomming more violent and severe at night... I have that feeling of some one on my chest... (shortness of breath and pressure) I dont know what it is but if you or any one has any comments I am listening!
Dear Dr, after a possible HIV exposure I had a swollen lymph node, sore throat and yellow phlegm. However I am aware that viral infections typically result in clear, white, phlegm whilst bacterial infections cause yellow phlegm. Does this still apply to HIV? (Furthermore, I only had 1 swollen lymph node in my neck, which again points to a bacterial infection as acute HIV would cause widespread swelling of lymph nodes).

Still had phlegm in my throat but no fever, no pain, and no coughing.
Week 4: Same symptoms. I went back to the doctor and he said as long as my phlegm is clear not to worry.
Week 5: Went to another doctor for a second opinion. She said my throat is red and gave me some antibiotics called zithromax.
Week 6: Less Phlegm but my ears started hurting and I had some pain under my jaw. Like 2 lines. Went back to the doctor and she gave me a nasal spray to reduce the phlegm in my throat.
This time the soreness persisted the whole entire day. I went to bed last night with a lot of phlegm in my throat and woke up this morning with a lot of soreness and phlegm once again. I tried to hack up the phlegm. Most of it was clear or yellow. Then I managed to get a real good one... I hacked up a real thick sample that was directly from my throat, and spit it out onto a tissue. I noticed a streak of blood on the tissue mixed with yellow phlegm.
I thought I had strep. My only symptoms at the time were a fever and a severe sore throat. The quick test came back negative. They took a culture sample which later came back to be negative. Since then, my throat has not been better, but I no longer have fevers. I do not have other symptoms.
The only problem is that my throat is so bad, that I can not swallow anything including saliva or even food. I can manage to drink water though.
So far I went to a doctor a week ago and she said I had restrictive airway disease and just prescribed a Qvar inhaler to take twice a day and Ventolin for a rescue inhaler. But the inhalers were making my throat very sore, and not making me feel any better, so I stopped using them. The phlegm has continued. If I had pneumonia or acid reflux, would those inhalers be of any help?
If it was just the one time, it could have been irritation from coughing. Was your throat sore at all? I have had this happen a few times myself, especially if my throat is sore or if I have been coughing excessively.
If this continues, it wouldn't hurt to run it by your doctor. You could have an infection or something else. He would be able to better assess you and run the appropriate tests if necessary.
