It first appeared 6 days ago when all of a sudden I felt like a burning sensation and my lip felt swollen. Since then I have been putting cold sore medicine, thinking it could possibly be one starting out. I have never had one before, but my sister-in law and friend said they start out in a tingling or burning or itching sensation. So, upset, but worried, I continued the ointment. Six days later, it looks exactly the same maybe a little dry but the same.
The reason I ask is because two weeks after my FNA I had neck pain on the whole left side that felt like I had whiplash and I also had a cold/sore throat. The neck pain lasted about a week and the sore throat lasted maybe 3 days. No one else seemed to think it was related to the FNA, but I couldn't figure out anything else it could be.
I have had cold symptoms for 2 weeks now. It started out sore throat, then went into nasal congestion. I thought I was getting better and it felt like it was clearing up. Well, last night I woke up and had a really sore throat and body aches, and I having been feeling this way all day today too. With the sore throat and body aches though I have started havng neck and ear pain when I swallow.
Hello! I know it's gross but over the past 24hrs I've developed a really nasty cold sore on my bottom lip.. I haven't had one for about 7 years but use to get them so bad in primary school my Mum had to pull me out of class for 3wks once. On top of that when I woke this morning I figured out the glands in my neck are swollen and I've got a terrible headache.. Im 17weeks pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this?
The lymph node on my left side of my neck was very sore. This was the end result of a cold I had for approximately 3 days. The cold cleared. The congestion hung around. I was just recently given prednisone to help with that and it's clearing up great.
Let me also say it wasn't swollen. Just sore. That lasted for about a month and cleared up. No I've noticed a few of the others in my neck area are sore but again not swollen. What's going on?

But if the stiff neck is associated with runny nose and cough, its most likely that the symptoms are due a throat infection. The pain can also be due to lymph node enlargement. Hi, I started seeing a guy that has the cold sore virus (herpes). He currently does not have any visible sore on his mouth, but he has very dry /cracked lips (may bleed). If he kisses me (with his dry /cracked lips), how likely will he pass the virus to me?

t even see them but when I touch my neck I can definitely feel little bulging lumps that were not there before this cold. (I've been feeling my neck a lot lately due to worrying about Hiv symptoms and I always thought I could have had swollen lymph nodes but didn't know how to tell but now that I've got them I can certainly tell, you can really feel little lumps in the neck, and the other side is smooth as usual.
Actually, it's quite common to get HSV1 outbreaks on the neck. Not nearly as common as around the mouth, but for many people the virus travels down the nerves that go down the neck. I have had confirmed "cold sore" outbreaks on my neck.

I have been having some bad pain in the right side of my neck. I have always had some neck problems but it hasn't been this bad in awhile. On top of it all my right shoulder is hurting and so is my right arm. My arm muscle is so sore and feels so heavy and tight and I haven't done a whole lot. 3 days later i had severe itching on my face, had sore throat after about 20 days, and diarhea after a month, also started having neck pains. after 2 months i had oral herpes breakout and a swollen neck, blood test showed everything ok except that i had high epstien barr virus igg levels. oral herpes is gone now, but my neck is still swollen, also feel pain in my armpits and elbows sometime. this was my first encounter outside a monogamous relationship after 10 years.
can i get spread the virus if i don't have any cold sore and kissed on her neck??
I would think your neck nodes were swollen. Since you are sick, you may be lying in bed with more pillows and bending your neck wrong. It's just not unusual to have neck pain when you are sick, although a very stiff neck can be a sign of meningitis, so be sure you keep that in mind.
I've never ever in my life had a cold sore, i've been kissed (on the cheek) by family who's had cold sores and i still never get them.
I get a bump on my lip every week...every time one goes away another is there...idk if it's a cold sore due to stress or just pimples...
But does that mean that I will end up spreading it to my partner? I haven't had a cold sore since. And I've never seen that he had a cold sore before... So should I really stress spreading it to him; I rarely ever get cold sores.... He's never gotten one, even though we've been together for a long time. Can you infect an open cut on your lip with the cold sore virus if you haven't brushed your teeth since an old cold sore from saliva?
