Avatar f tn My muscles and joints have been really sore the past couple of days and I haven't done anything for them to have reason to be sore? Especially in my left leg, foot and shoulder! I hate it bc I'm 26 years old and should be able to run and play with my kids and just can't!
Avatar m tn The "sternocleidomastoid muscles" are most likely those which are giving you radiating pain from ear down to neck/shoulder/arm(Google for picture of this muscle if unfamiliar with its location). There are two of these muscles in the superficial layers of the anterior (front) portion of the neck that make the shape of a ā€œVā€, and they are primarily helpful in rotation, flexing and extension of the head.
Avatar m tn Suddenly I am having muscles soreness in a few random spots on my body. It started in the heels of my feet, it isn't my whole foot, just one particular spot by the heel. I haven't bought new shoes or anything recently, or been standing anymore than usual. It is the exact same spot on both feet, and there does not appear to be any bruising or anything. This started about a week ago. A day or so after, my right shoulder started hurting very badly.
Avatar m tn Virtually everybody in the entire universe gets tense, sore and achy muscles for many, many reasons. And yes, many of us are not aware of how we end up with them. Poor posture, lifting heavy things incorrectly, physical activities, being hunched over our computers for hours on end, the stress of day to day life..........all of these things can cause the problems you mention.
Avatar f tn I have been to the clinic 3 times and the doctors keep saying it should just go away. However it is getting worse, more pain and my right arm and shoulder muscles are starting to stiffen up and getting sore.
Avatar m tn I wonder if it was a mis-diagnosis or half-diagnosis, and it makes me question whether the nerve pinching issues is actually at the shoulder RATHER than the neck. Regardless, the issue is no longer in my neck and shoulder, but in my neck, shoulder, and back. It's difficult to even pinpoint the pain. It's like one big, sore clump spawning from mid-back to shoulder to neck. DIFFICULTY SPEAKING: One of the red flags I'm experiencing is difficulty speaking.
611254 tn?1223914841 said it looks as though I had injured my neck some time ago which is what brought on the arthritis. So now I stretch my neck, shoulder and arm muscles daily, take Motrin when needed and if it's really bad, I will take the Darvocet the Dr. prescribed for severe pain. I just wanted to let others know who are experiencing neck pain and may be curious as to whether or not it could be arthritis or a strain, this is my story.
Avatar n tn Do I likely have a pinched nerve? I had, for about 2 weeks, tight neck/shoulder muscles. Since I had this a couple years ago I saw my Doctor and was prescribed muscle relaxers again. I knew my left arm was weaker feeling but attributed it to the muscles being tight for so long. I then realized that my left triceps was not working at all(before taking muscle relaxers). I also have some pain in my left shoulder and elbow.
Avatar n tn I have been to my dentist for sensitive teeth and am getting a nighttime occlusion splint to prevent teeth grinding/clenching. I also have a sore jaw, mild neck pain and headaches, occasional blocked ears (As if they need to pop). The dentist did this thing called a "parachute test" thats supposed to test reflexes or something and thought i seemed weak.
Avatar m tn The surgeon is suggesting removing the disk And fusing the vertebra ( I think) together But the grey area is my leg? My question is can a disk in my neck cause the numb and twitching of muscles in my leg Also could I live a normal life after it? PS also I feel like I have been running when I walk in my right leg (all right side) Please help life is getting very hard!
1710955 tn?1309446473 I had an MRI done and it showed two bulging discs on my C5/ C6 area, a tear in my tendon, along with impingement on the nerve. The pain radiated down my left side of my neck, into the shoulder and down the left arm to my fingers. It was the most excruciating pain ever! I thought I was having a heart attack because it was all on my left side and the pain was absolutely unbearable. During the day, it was so bad, except for lifting my arm. i couldn't... Too much pain.
Avatar m tn Hey community, This is the first time I've ever joined an online community for help. I'll tell you my story, hopefully with as much clarity as possible, in hopes that I can receive some wise words or help from somebody out there. STARTED WITH SHOULDER: Three years ago, at the age of 24, I woke up feeling fine and healthy. Some three hours later, a burning pain from my right shoulder sent me to the ER in the most pain I've ever experienced in my life.
Avatar m tn 9 months...I'm finally throwing it out to the internet. In June 2020 I got a bout of laryngitis. I continued on for 10 days w/ progressing neck pain radiating up to my temple on right side. Sent for Covid test (neg). Worsened and went to ER. Xrays and CTs showed slight protrusion of C4&5 and C6&7, but otherwise - normal. CBCs normal. SedRate/Inflammation marker - normal. I am female, 5'8 140, overall good health. In the last 9 months, ENT for laryrngoscopy -> clear.
Avatar n tn It could be a swollen lymph node. They run down along side your trachea, and if one is swollen, it may feel like something is stuck in your throat. I'm not sure how it is tied into standing or sitting, though, or the severe shoulder pain. I had one a few months back and it took almost two months (and 3 trips to the doc) to go away.
Avatar n tn In this case sharp pain in the back of the neck/shoulder following overexertion, lasting for weeks.
429700 tn?1308007823 The thigh one feels like a sore muscle. The shoulder/ neck one is the worst. It starts by feeling like I slept wrong, and just a sore muscle. Over the course of a few days the muscles get tighter and tighter feeling like a continuous charlie horse. It gets to the point where I can't turn my head in any direction without pain. Then, over a matter of days it will ease up again. I hope you can get some answers from your neuro!
Avatar f tn Try putting a towel in the dryer or a magic bean and put it on your neck (i have alit if issues with my neck and this helps relax the muscles)
446156 tn?1275859576 d lay down and get a heating pad for your neck and shoulder to help loosen up those muscles. Every now and then stretch your neck a little bit but do not over-extend it. Just stretch it as far as it will go in all directions.
Avatar f tn The upper most part of my spine that connects to my neck feels sore and bruised along with my upper spine. The pain radiates into my shoulder blade, upper right arm, collarbone, and chest. At least five times a day I hear this loud pop (as does anyone that is within ten feet of me) where my neck connects to my right shoulder closest to my spine. It often feels like my shoulder blade pops- rather feels like it shifts as if moving from one side to the next.
1280322 tn?1302780827 should get checked out-might be rotator cuff or pinched nerve in your neck or a combo. i had similar and they found herniated disk @c5 and torn rotator cuff. gfo to primary and see if need referral to a GOOD (i cannot stress that enough-it took a year before i found my good doc) ortho. if that's what they find, of course!! be well and best luck!!
Avatar n tn The nexk worries me most because its at the base of my skull. I have had some vertabrea issues, and I have very tight muscles in the neck shoulder area, but never up into this high to the skull. I do have a lot of stress right now, but find it weird that it hurts to touch it with slight pressure. Its just worrisome. I have never had low headaches. I use to get migranes before I went through early menapause, but this is not like a migrane.
Avatar n tn Both sides of neck the muscles are sore, like the muscles that connect the neck to the upper shoulder trapezius muscles. Exact same spot on both sides. I know u said I'm not at risk, but these muscles feel very tender and sore to the touch. Also my neck in front feels puffy...any possible connections?
Avatar m tn Have you been on the computer for a while. Your neck could be very tense leading to neck pains. Just try to exercise your neck muscles lightly.
Avatar m tn Your neck muscles are most probably very tight. Try to massage them and see if they feel better. Wait a couple of days. If that doesn't help, see a doctor.
