Yes, I took prozac for a while and I looked like I swallowed a wheelie bin,I put the weight on,but that all changed when the doc put me on valium to help with my anxiety.It worked well and helped me sleep with no weight gain.Prozac also cause a huge drop in sexual desire/performance.

My daughter started going to phychiatrist(she just turned 18 she was on 40mg of prozac) he put her on valium 5mg,celexa60 mg and and 100 mg of wellbutrin what is this combination usually treat? She has some aniexty and depression ?Her hands shake after wellbutrin,but doctor said to try and see if it subsides after body gets use to it.Please let me know if this combination is used alot?

i started tapering him off and some most of these have calmed down at a quarter of the dose, strattera is a non stimulant and works like an antidepresant wellbutrin but is for kids too..frontline has a series on the medicated child on www . pbs. org, you should really check this out, it is scary!!! deals with kids being on physc meds...

ve found that both the benzos (valium, xanex, ativan etc..) AND the SSRIs (Prozac, Zoloft,etc..) help with palpitations. I have been on Prozac for almost two months and have seen my ectopic beats (PVCs) reduce. At my worst, I had maybe 6 a day. Now I'm down to one every couple of days. Anxiety makes them worse so the meds help the anxiety etc.. However, when I started the Prozac, I had them every day for the first week. If you go on SSRI meds, give them time to work.

Or go back to my old meds I used to take tofranil PM and valium as needed but after a month or so cut out the valium completly and was just on tofranil did really well on it eventually weaned off and was fine but them symtoms came back I didnt to therapy tohugh this time i am .

I am going on Valium for my anxiety. I can't tollerate xanax because it gives me that "druged" feeling and makes me extremely sleepy. A friend gave me a few valium for the weekend and I FELT GREAT! No body aches, my mind was clear and I had energy. I realize this was only two days but can anyone tell me about the negatives that go along with prolonged use of Valium. Recently after many years of no symptoms, I have for the last couple of months been getting panic/anxiety attacks, they do not go away or lessen but stay with me 24/7. I have seen my doctor and she thought it was depression (I'm not as sure) but she put me on prozac 20 and valium, with an hour I was so much worse! I understand these take time to kick in but the side effects are worse than ever, I now cannot leave the house, I do try, I cry so much.

Lexapro sent me to the ER with a major anxiety attack and prozac also made me nervous. Long story short, my doc. and physchiatrist recognized that I ONLY needed ativan for my anxiety. Unfortunately and for some reason, a lot of doctors out there are trying to treat anxiety with anti-depressants. Anti-depressants are uppers and they basically make you more nervous. These drugs are good for depressive folks. However, for anxiety...we need the benzos...

I have been posting for a few days, sharing my withdrawal experience off of Subutex. Yesterday was not too bad, but I woke up last night and I felt like I had stopped breathing. And then as I lay there, It felt impossible to get a breath. I was really scared to fall back asleep, like ther was a ton of bricks on my chest. I got up and went to the ER. After some tests came back negative for anythng heart related, they told me I was having a panic attack. What?

i've seen a hundred times that mixing those two is very dangerous. i'm no doctor, but i myself take methadone and once i took a valium, i've never felt sicker!! i do believe it is very dangerous. . .

Hi, I recently took Valium and it worked for me to help calm anxiety and depression (I only took this pill before bed)...however, the prescription was just for a surgery and I was told that Klonopin would be a good alternative to the Diazepam...however, I am concerned about the addictive quality of that pill and the weight gaining side effects...I was also given a prescription of low dose amitriptyline and found that it also can cause weight gain.

I personaly dont agree with A.Ds "ssris, snris, all of em" My theroy is that people with anxiety are over stimulated as a result from Higher production of Seritonin, Norepinephrine, Dopeamine, and the onder production of GABA. A.D's make those certian nerotransmitter more sensitive, creating worse panic. And of course the GABA definently can keep up with the other 3 nerotransmitters because it already had a unhealthy lowered functioning level.

All had horrible side efffects on me. The valium actually worked and I noticed that my zest for life returned. I realize valium is highly addictive but so is that other stuff. I'm rambling now but I just wanted to toot my own horn for just a second. TOOT TOOT!.

Hi I'm in a dilemma. I feel like in a corner because I know what the best thing for me to do would be, but I don't want to take 2 years to withdraw from benzos as prescribed. Currently I am taking suboxone, a very small dose, after addiction to pain pills. That was my drug of choice. I don't even really like them, so I've been taking 0.-5 mg per night for many, many years.

Dh and I have been trying to get pregnant for 16 months and this last month I was on the koladapins from prozac for the last month because I haven't been ovulating so they knew it was safe to take a class d. I started to lose the ability for prozac to do me any good. Does anyone know of any good meds they can recommend for me that would be safe for me to take while TTCing?

i just started taking prozac and wellbutrin. with this combination it helps with anxiety and depression. yes, i struggle with benzos as well etc. the combination of this two meds has really helped with w/d.

t start until he stated Buspar and Prozac for depression, on top of taking Tegretol. Stopped Buspar and Prozac after a month and high bp lasted for almost 4 weeks.

t mean you will experience it. Prozac is an excellent medication and has been widely used for many years. Work closely with your doctor when it comes to your medication, he knows best. Take care.

NOW poof, it is back in full force and effect. I have been on Prozac for years (now slowing switching to Zoloft), Klonopin (now switching slowly to Valium), and Buspar. Anyone have any suggestions on how to shorten the hours of panic and not keep trying to take a deep breath constantly when I know it's just going to make me feel worse. BUT WHAT A RELIEF when I get one. I also always try to yawn during an attack.

Also at his next psychiatrist appointment just days later, his psychiatrist discontinued the Effexor and Depakote and changed his Prozac dose to 20 mg three times daily, and added Valium 5 mg prn. He is not any better since returning from the hospital after four days other than his blood pressure.

I have tried Buspar, and that caused insomnia even after 3 weeks. Prozac was started at 2.5 mg and still made the anxiety worse and caused insomnia. Lexapro was also tried with no luck and I'm still feeling the withdrawal effects from it. I feel like I'm worse than before I tried the SSRI's.

ok so i know now from all those helpful messages to not go down the road and keep using lortab. Iv been on prozac for 2 1/2 weeks and its seems like it is not woking for me, so my DR suggested xanax. does anyboady have some suggestions with that med? good or bad PLEASE!!

I have to put my dog down in 3 days and I am totally freaking out about it. I usually don't have anxiety problems and I am on Prozac 20mg/day. Since the news a week and a half ago that I would have to put my dog down I haven't been able to sleep, I've been having horrible nightmares when I do sleep. I feel like the world is falling down around me and I am losing control. I called my doctor today and he recc. Ativan 0.5mg 1-2 tablets every 6 hours as needed.
