Avatar m tn Golden Paste is a recipe with turmeric, coconut oil and fresh ground black pepper. Look up the recipe, dosage and what kind of turmeric. It's on Facebook - there is a group. People and pets have gotten the best help from this recipe.
16237877 tn?1446544835 If you have knee osteoarthritis, for example, you may benefit from using boswellia, ginger, turmeric and white willow bark. Bromelain is believed to be an effective herbal remedy for soft tissue inflammation and pain relief. In her book "Herbal Medicine From the Heart of the Earth," naturopathic doctor and herbalist Sharol Tilgner notes that arnica, calendula and rue are particularly helpful for musculoskeletal injuries.
Avatar f tn Just wondering what type (brand?) of turmeric is most effective? After doing some research it seems some are better than others. Thanks!
Avatar f tn , published his exceptionally careful and comprehensive research about niacinamide and osteoarthritis titled The Common Form of Joint Dysfunction: Its Incidence and Treatment. Dr.Kaufman’s research came out around the same time that patented cortisone formulas were being heavily promoted, so niacinamide treatment was hardly noticed. I read 1,000 milligrams of niacinamide three times a day (it doesn’t work as well if you only take it once or twice daily).
Avatar m tn Friends, can you tell me where a site in the net to buy vitamin d and black cumin, turmeric....
Avatar f tn They are reaccuring and now are spreading. Also in those areas I get what looks like black heads.
Avatar m tn A better anti-inflammatory is turmeric, and usually ginger will be found in formulas combining standardized ginger with standardized turmeric. If you want to use non-standardized herbs, which are more natural, ginger is best used juiced and raw, but it's hard to get enough of it that way if you want to use it for inflammation as extreme as arthritis. Candied ginger is actually pro-inflammatory, because sugar increases inflammation and candied has lots of sugar in it.
Avatar n tn or you can also take raw turmeric, lime, ginger, and mint leaf to make turmeric tea
Avatar n tn First of all, we don't know what meds you're on. Herbs can conflict with them. We also don't know your condition -- devil's claw is one good herb for your condition, but it also contains a little of the acid that causes aspirin to cause internal bleeding, so if you have that problem you might want to go easy on it. If you don't, it's fine. There are many herbs that are anti-inflammatory in action. Two used often with RA are the one you mentioned and boswellia.
Avatar n tn I dont want to hear advice on trying not to take them cause in terrible pain. Need a doctors opinoin. Just answer yes or no. and some insight about mixing the two. will I go into withdrawal. Not trying to get a buzz.
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
529224 tn?1400648219 The other knee was about to be replaced in 2012 and an emergency came in and my OP was postponed.I took up hill walking, despite it hurt, aquafit twice a week and swimming lengths (not breaststroke!) - which my consultant had suggested before first knee OP, and my knee (despite being in a worse arthritic state than the first knee before OP!) improved - I don't have pain, or instability anymore!
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar n tn t tried it myself yet, only because I HATE taking pills, but have heard a few success stories about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Another thing you can do is start physical therapy. Strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joints helps to slow the degenerative changes.
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
Avatar m tn t expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar f tn Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein? Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition? Thanks!
18581475 tn?1466016439 I just started taking turmeric too. Supposed to help prevent dementia, or something, I can't remember. Just kidding.
Avatar f tn Hi,thanks in advance for any responses...much appreciated and my drs. do not know. I've been menopausal since Nov.2011(my last period) and I've been diag.hypothyr.about 3-5 yrs. I'm currently on estrogen patch+progesterone+150 mcg synthroid. Wondering if anyone has had experience with hip (actually where the leg and hip meet)pain that disturbs their sleep? Also on another note wondering the best labs to target any such problems, whether hormone or thyroid related.
Avatar n tn There was a guy who has since been kicked off the website who suffered from blood clotting and decided to stop using his Warfarin and used powdered turmeric instead. He put it on everything, and it burned a hole in this throat -- it's a very hot herb. Either it's going to work for you in the recommended doses or it's not.
Avatar m tn The osteoarthritis may progress slowly over time. Strengthening the muscles that support the neck and cervical spine may lesson symptoms of pain and discomfort. ~•~ Dr. Parks This answer is not intended as and does not substitute for medical advice. Avatar f tn I am hoping Dr Mathur or Paderia Anitha will comment but any one else is also welcome .There has been some research suggesting that turmeric may help restore steroid sensitivity in COPD. I tried it and it seemed to work very well but I developed chills/mild fever so stopped. It has been about a month since I took any but tried it again today and got a little chill. I had been taking the turmeric in olive oil with some black pepper to improve bioavailability but today did not use pepper.
