19 Male : I have an oily t-zone with many clogged pores and small, somewhat invisible bumps, on the middle of my forehead. Sometimes the pores enlarge making them very visible, especially if I touch and pick at my skin! It gets very red after I do this and after I cleanse morning and night. I've stopped moisturizing, which has improved my skin somewhat (I think). Sometimes I wear foundation on my forehead to blend in post acne marks and cover redness.
hello, I have a normal skin sometimes going to oily in my noise area only (rarely), i started to use 3 months ago a product or L'oreal, a cheap and commercial one and i started to feel for the first time that i have blocked pores; like a white material stuck in my skin which can't be removed, i read about it and i knew its caused by this product so I stopped using it immediately. Hi. I am 27 years old and I have had moderate acne since grade school during puberty. Only I have never fully grown out of it. My derm says I have hormonal acne and she prescribed me 200 mg spironolactone and Tazorac .01% gel. My acne has changed since I was younger. For the past maybe 4 years maybe I have gone from mild pimples to extreme clogged pores. I have always had oily skin and mild clogged pores I guess.

Thanks for your comment. He does not have oily skin or acne. His skin is nice and clear. I am looking at his dad's nose and he has big open pores all over his nose too. So, don't you think it could be just genes? Although why would they open up so early?
After doing some research, I believe it is an over production and build up of sebum on the scalp. I have had acne problems, have rosacea, and my skin and hair is very oily. I found balancing shampoos on line that are supposed to prevent sebum build up. Aveda is one of them, but I haven't tried it. Sebum: substance with an oily consistency produced by the sebaceous glands. It lubricates hair, is an antifungal/antibacterial, and imparts waterproofing properties to the skin.
Bronner's Tea Tree liquid soap (one with the orange label) as it contains antimocrobial essential oils (does not clog pores or leave skin oily). Avoiding sugar & antibiotics was also key for me. I hope this helps!
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but since then, my skin has changed drastically where all the pores on my skin are permanently open, not only on my face but on my body too. They are not blackheads or whiteheads for the most part, but they won't close even if I apply ice on them. My skin on my face now looks like an orange peel and although I don't have blackheads on my body, all the pores are dark looking, and my skin texture has gone very rough.
I have the most terrible open pores on my face. They are only on my cheecks. I've also noticed very small blackheads covering my nose. I have used blckhead strips, and tons of face washes. I have low-med oily skin, just in the t zone. I use cetaphil on a daily basis along with blackhead and pore shrinking washes and creams. I have also paid lots of money for "pore cleansing" facials. I need help, they are awful. Cold water washes don't even touch them. Any suggestions or tips.
I have never had any problems with oily skin or oily hair ever. I wash my hair daily and condition. I have not changed my daily regimen in 2 years One thing I have tried was applied Shower to Shower powder to my hair before going to bed and washed out in the morning (not the sexiest looking thing at night but it helps). It drastically reduced the oil, but came back 2 days later. The only thing I worry about is clogging the glands that are producing the oil, so I don't do it daily...
Hello Doctor, my face has turned darker over the years. I have oily skin and open pores as well. Could i use glyco-6 cream to regain my complexion?
Beta hydroxyl acid (Salicylic acid) is an organic acid that exfoliates the skin, allowing dead and dying skin cells to slough off more readily, thus opening the pores. Opening your pores allows the comedones (blackheads) to come to the surface for easier blackhead removal. ref:http://www.getridofthings.com/getridofblackheads.htm ref:http://en.wikipedia.
I use dermalogica products however of late, my skin become extreemly greasy and I have breakout every single day esp on and around my chin. I would say I have a oily T zone with open pores in some areas.
Steam your face to open your pores by boiling a pan of water and after few minutes remove the pan from the stove. Add fresh herbs to create a fresh scent such as mint, chamomile and rosemary or green tea because it's an antioxidant. 6.Stand directly over the steam Stay 10/ 15 minutes until the steam disappears Be careful not to burn your face. You shouldn’t feel any discomfort. 7.Apply the cleanser preferably CETAPHIL move your fingers in a circular motion for at least 30 seconds. Then Rinse. 8.

Hello, Open pores are as difficult to treat as severe, treatment-resistant acne. The preferred preventive and ongoing treatment for open pores in all skin types and conditions is azelaic acid, the highest concentration of which (20%) is found in MD Rx Higher Strength Azelaic Acid. The next highest concentration is available in Jan Marini Bioclear Cream and Lotion, albeit at only 1%. No other alternative sources currently exist. http://www.treatment-skincare.com/Open-Pores.

that's is most likely not skin cancer at all. it sounds like tinea versicolor possibly. google that term and look at the images. if that's what you have it is a fungal infection that is often times caught in tanning beds. that is absolutely not the only place people catch it, but common. and it is very very common on the chest and back. easily treatable. you'll need a prescription. skin cancer comes by way of scaly sores, weird bumps , lesions etc.
I am 43 and have washed my hair daily for as long I can remember. I have oily skin and hair but never been a problem. Last week I washed my hair as normal, dried it and noticed that my crown looked really greasy and my hair around the crown extremely dull. I presumed I hadnt washed my conditioner out properly but same happened next day.
I've also read that you should not use petrolatum on the skin as it will clog pores. I have absolutely no problem with pimples (maybe one per year) and makeup does not seem to bother me--in fact, foundation seems to make my face feel better. BUT, most moisturizers (except for the Vaseline) irritate my skin after a few days. I will get kind of irritated looking on my face and get some little bumps that will disappear quite fast if I quit using the lotion.
First it was bugs excreting frm my skin now the bugs are more violent and are now ripping my skin open and eating my skin. Like I stated before I dont ever see anything. It's just when my mind is idle I get thoughts and images in my head of this happening. I am at my wits end. It is like i am having nightmares while I am awake. I do think it is a matter of my mind playing tricks on me so I just want to know how to stop these images and thoughts in my head.
Hi, Acne occurs when the pores of the skin become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and/or bacteria. The hair follicles containing glands that produce sebum open onto the skin through pores. These pores allow the sebum to reach the hair shaft and the skin. In certain situations, the glands excrete excess sebum and it cannot be cleared from the pores efficiently.
If you are shaving your legs do so in a warm bath when pores are open, use a new razor and a good quality shaving foam like King of Shaves. The scars are probably superficial and will fade but i would see your doctor to rule out a skin condition like psoriasis.
I have extremely sensetive skin myself and had to resort to baby lotion and shampoos to keep me from overdrying my skin. Many lotions make the skin oily rather than truly moisturize. Cetaphil is a good lotion, but I use Aveeno baby lotion. It seems to do the trick. What soaps do you use? Dial AB or Dove, ?? ?
I started noticing what had always been relatively oily skin drying out — permanently — within two weeks of finishing the drug and within a year I had gone from having very youthful skin to extremely dry, loose skin everywhere: face, neck, elbows, hands, knees, eyelids, you name it. Awful. Vein and joint damage too. I remain interested in knowing whether anyone else reporting skin problems here was prescribed a quinolone within the year or so before they surfaced.
Hi , I am 35 and my skin has always been very oily with large pores. I do have a few acne scars ( the pitted kind ) . I saw a plastic surgeon and he suggested either the fraction co2 laser or erbium laser with three sessions . After researching both , I feel the fraction is too expensive and I read a lot of people feel as though their skin is thinner . I do not have thick skin to begin with .
