Mouth infection after surgery

Common Questions and Answers about Mouth infection after surgery

infection

Three days before she had a minor surgery in her mouth. She told me this after we (deep) kissed. A week (or two) later I had stomach troubles. A lot of gas and diarrhea, but no fever or something else. This is what scares me, although I did not taste any blood when we were kissing. Did this event put me at risk for HIV? I can say that I myself never had mouthproblems, but I am a smoker. Thnx for the good work..
For yeast infection of the mouth, Nystatin (Mycostatin) liquid is used by swishing a bit in your mouth several times a day and then swallowing the medicine. Throat lozenges called Mycelex trouches can also be used. If the symptoms are severe then oral antifungals may be needed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

Make sure that your employer knows that you are willing to do to a little extra, but that it can't be physical or have insane deadlines right now. Let me know what happens with the mouth surgery, I have a surgery coming up too.
The white patches have a cottage cheese appearance. They can occur as a consequence to mouth/throat infection or sometimes steroid inhalers are known to promote their growth. This can cause a swollen uvula. Your will need to consult a doctor for proper assessment. In the meantime you can try warm salt water gargles and betadine mouthwashes. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Ear--Nose--Throat/concerns-after-surgery/show/1871947# Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
is it caused by some type of nasal fungal or bacterial infection; or is it simply something else? 2. Assuming what’s going on in my mouth is HSV2; is it true that in the case of mouth HSV2 since the virus has a preference for the genital area it does not have the tendency of recurring; and if so, why have I had what appears to be a three month or longer continuous outbreak in my mouth.
The various causes of dental pain are tooth decay, gum disease, trauma or injury, dry socket or infection after tooth extraction, impacted teeth, malocclusion, toothwear, sinusitis, neuralgia and a cracked tooth. Certain times you may experience referred pain. This is due to the trigeminal nerve which supplies branches to all teeth. a pain maybe felt in the upper jaw when the causative is a lower jaw tooth due to referred pain which occurs when decay is within a tooth.
I asked the Ear-Nose-Throat doctor if it was possible for a sinus bacterial infection to cause the mouth lesions and did not get an answer. After three months I can still smell that foul smell in my sinuses when I breathe in, and now I’m scheduled to have surgery to flush out my sinuses but I’m not sure that’s the cause of the foul smell and the mouth lesions.
I did have an extremely sore throat afterwards and had some cuts/sores on my mouth too. It was very annoying but went away after a week or so. Is the blood pinkish or is it really bright red? How much is coming up? If it's just a little it may be that your throat was scratched a bit and is getting irritated after you eat something. In any event, I would definitely call the doctor asap to make sure it isn't something serious. Leave a message for him to call you back with the on-call service.
Its been 4 months and I am still not well-at all. I have dizzeness, severe headaches and pain, and always feel like im under water or in a fog. Oh ya I stammer a lot and have memory loss and am so very tired and just wiped out. Sometimes I dont see things right. When will this all end? Since the surgery, I've noticed that her breath smells. She brushes and rinses her mouth but it never smells fresh. Is this something that is a side effect of the surgery?
Before removal I had many small infections on both sides over a few months. There wasn't a lot of bleeding after the surgery and I seemed to recover pretty fast at first.  I have felt sick in my stomach almost constantly since returning home from the hospital and I have a fever (unsure of temperature) and chills. My head feels like it is burning up and I have a horrible head ache almost continually.
I'm guessing that the radiation damaged the salivary gland, which caused dry mouth, and hence the back-up/infection in the gland. Currently taking 300mg clindamycin 4 times a day, for two weeks. Doc told me to call after one week if not vast improvement and so far, day 5, not seeing much improvement. Any thoughts, experience would be appreciated.
The knots maybe a residual infection. The trismus which is the difficulty in opening your jaw can be from the trauma of the extractions and or the injections into the muscles or both which causes the opening to be reduced. It can take a while for this to get better. You might consider forcing it open each day a little bit at a time.
You could also ring up the Dentist to check your mouth to ensure there is no infection. Doing mouth washes with salty water will aid healing. Hope you start to feel better soon.

This may be a little different than what some of you are experiencing, but hopefully this will help someone. After being on antibiotics for 7 months - I had had a highly resistant yeast infection for about 2 years - I was taking diflucan 3x a wk during that time (expensive) and finally went to a Homeopathic Medical Doctor....yes, he was an MD - they are out there! Not only was the yeast infection in my vagina, but it was throughout my entire body.
I have had SEVERE swelling in my mouth and pain since the surgery i was prescribed vicodin 5-500 and also motrin 800 milligrams. The first 24 hours i pretty much slept after i took the meds and an ice pack seemed to ease the pain. Well this morning i noticed yellow bruising around my jam bone on the right side and the inside of my mouth near the extraction sight is feeling kind of inflamed and has a wierd taste to it. It also has slimy milky mucus on it.
I had thyroid cancer in2013 and was finished in2014 after surgery and Radiation Iodine Therapy. I had no issue with my saliva glands but I did experience a swelling in my eyes and soreness in my mouth. This has gone away but now I have experienced a loss of a filling in my back molar and a soreness in my cheeks and a taste of salt when I run my tongue over my back teeth. I used salt before my thyroid treatment but have not used any since then.
On oct 31 my son fell 2 stories off a building he was working on and broke his neck at c-5 and c-3 he is now in a halo for 3 months and still may have to have surgery after it is removed. My question is his mouth as developed a white coating with sores on the tongue, roof of mouth and back of throat and is now coughing up some blood also very painful for him to swallow.
I have a question; before my mouth started burning, I had a sinus infection can this cause burning mouth?
No nausea or vomiting, at all. Extreme dry mouth right after surgery and for several days afterward. If anyone has any tips or suggestions on what is causing my mouth and tongue pain, I would appreciate any advise. I do not have any white patches or white discolorations on my tongue or in my mouth, however even running my tongue across my teeth gently causes severe pain. I can't imagine what this might be. I have not called my doctor, and my follow up appt is Thursday, Sept 15th.
I felt great after the surgery, did the walking that was recommended and everything. One week after the surgery I woke up with excruciating pain going down my right leg. It has not let up. I went to my surgeon and he explained to me that during surgery a nerve root was damaged and the myelin sheath is no longer there protecting it. He told me that the pain was due to the nerve trying to heal itself.
My urologist said I have a prolapsed bladder, he is waiting to do surgery on that until after this next surgery. I'am discouraged thinking of going through another surgery!
I asked the Ear-Nose-Throat doctor if it was possible for a sinus bacterial infection to cause the mouth lesions and did not get an answer. My mouth has been free of any lesions for about a week now but after months I can still smell that chemical smell in my sinuses when I breathe in, and in two more days scheduled to have surgery in my sinuses, but I’m not sure that’s the cause of the chemical smell or the mouth lesions.
She was reluctant at first and informed us that babies rarely ever get ear infections at this age because there ear cannals are just too small, but after looking in my childs ears her first question was "Does anyone in the house smoke?".Neither I nor my husband smoke, but we are most all of the time at my mothers house, and alot of the time my child and I spend the night, and my mother does smoke, almost always outside, but I know that smoke still gets trapped on her hair and clothes.
