Avatar f tn hello, I had a gum graft done 5 days ago. they took skin from the roof of my mouth and stitched it to the gums where I am missing the tooth. (tooth #12) I am eventually getting a dental implant done, but I needed a gum graft done and then once it heals a bone graft done then finally the implant. my question is..... I have heard of some ppl feeling a lot better within days.. I have more pain now then I did the first cpl days? is this normal.
Avatar f tn   I have completed the course of antibiotics that I was prescribed after the surgery and the anti-inflamatories and panadine fort I was prescribed have done nothing more than make me feel ill. I have been cleaning my teeth and rinsing with salty water. I don't smoke and I have been sticking to soft food and no hot drinks.  Is it possible I have an infection? If so what can I do to relieve my pain?
Avatar n tn Sounds as if youve gotten an infection. Go see your doctor or the place that did the surgery and have them look at it. An infection should be healed with antiobiotics. I had the same thing and mine was healed with antibiotics within a few days.
Avatar n tn Hi, I need some advise regarding my teeth. I had a root canal done on my tooth 19th maybe about 3 years ago. 2 years ago my gum swelled because of pus & infection therefore the dentist did another root canal to remove the infection. I found out last sep. that there's some infection underneath that same tooth again, but because of some complication with insurance i didn't do anything about it till now. This time there's no swelling or pain or any sort of discomfort.
Avatar n tn re ending up sleeping with your mouth open, as opposed to breathing through your nose. Mouth breathing will definitely dry your mouth out much faster. Unfortunately, I don't really know of any way to keep your mouth from dropping open when you fall asleep, but if you make sure your nose is very clear when you lay down - and not congested at all - it might help you to be able to breathe through your nose instead. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I am 62 years old, and have been healthy. Last April I had an infected wisdom tooth removed. Weeks before and after I had terrible sinus issues (NEVER had a sinus infection before) Dentist discovered a tiny fistula, a hole to my sinus. Told me not to blow my nose for 3 weeks. When I went back, he said it was closed (and in fact, foul tasting drainage had stopped) but x ray showed my sinus was still infected, my sinus was still clogged. I was on assorted antibiotics for 6 months.
Avatar n tn I have had a reoccurring infection after a root canal over the past two years. Now my hands & feet are swelling up and showing arthritis like symptoms. Very painful. I am having mouth surgery very soon to "clean out" the cavity that has formed from the infection eating away the bone tissue in the area near where the root canal was done.
Avatar n tn first immediately after the surgery and second starting 4 days ago. My concern is that it's not getting better even with such strong antibiotic (two courses of the latter), but rather worse: the swelling to include my left cheek and a bit in my neck after so many days after the surgery. I would appreciate any advice as to how to proceed. Almost two weeks now (12 days) after surgery now. Thank you. Dan.
Avatar n tn She send me an antibiotic (CLINDAMYCIN 300 MG) and told me that I had to get my stitches remove from my redo belly bottom it was reddish and it had pass 20 day after the surgery. Am almost 2 month since my surgery my belly bottom look a little better, but still have some redness , and am getting some bother around my area stomach, or some burning sensation here and there. Am also feeling this bothers around my breast.
Avatar n tn I had terrible pain in my upper tooth over Memorial wkend. A year previous, that tooth's filling came out. There was a small crack & I chose to have the tooth filled. But it was never right, as I couldn't use it w/o pain. The Tues after Mem day wkend, I had a root canal done on the tooth. But since, there was still pain in the gum above the tooth when I press it. I can chew w/o pain.
20883343 tn?1563914316 About a month ago I was in the hospital due to an infection caused by two molars on my right side. Prior to that I was unable to open my mouth more than half an inch for about two weeks and it hurt really bad to even swallow liquids. So that was why I went to the hospital. I got the infection taken care of and was released from the hospital.
Avatar f tn My mom is six weeks out from having a TKR where they used titanium but was I was informed today that her knee replacement WAS NOT total titanium. within 2 wks post surgery my mom developed a bad smell in sinuses, a very bad bitter metallic taste in her mouth, she's has had constant nausea for six weeks now along with loss of appetite to which she has lost considerable amount of weight, severely depressed with anxiety now..
Avatar f tn I have a question; before my mouth started burning, I had a sinus infection can this cause burning mouth?
1098999 tn?1276787267 granted i'm not even a week out of surgery but still.did anyone have issues with swallowing and opening their mouth after surgery? I'm having that issue now and it's like I can't open it too far to put food in my mouth and then it hurts to swallow anything...and i never had any pain in my throat after surgery from the tube being down. it's almost as if it's muscular but not muscular. i don't know how else to describe it.
Avatar m tn oral sex. He is a healthy man, and got tested as a pre-requisite for dentist surgery (what I mean to say is, he is not sick or anything). We both went to the RED CROSS, and got tested. His results were, again, HIV positive. My results were negative (which means I'm not infected). This was one week ago. If I had been infected the past year and a half, it would have shown.
Avatar f tn Did surgery damage my lungs even more or could I now have, after so many days, chest infection? I have a tightness feeling in upper chest area but no real pain other than where they went in 5 holes. They are just tender. Should I call my doctor about this breathing difficulty or give it more time.
Avatar m tn hi im 20 years old and i experience dry mouth my question is wat can u do to prevent dry mouth or if u have dry mouth wat can u do to clear it up sometimes my mouth gets really dry that sometimes it feels like its hard to swallow cause its so dry if anybody can help me that would be nice thanks
Avatar n tn The dentist again took xrays and said that he could not find the area causing the problem and would need to do exploratory surgery. I had this surgery two days ago. It was very painful and took two hours. I had to have 2 addtional novacaine shots during the procedure. The dentist said he found that on one root of the tooth, it was thin and the filler material from the root canal was touching my gum through this roo because the tooth root was so thin is was actually broken through.
Avatar n tn My jaw actually came apart finally after that surgery when I was singing along with the radio. I remember it had been locked for quite some time, like a week. Don't panic too much!
Avatar f tn Hi there, It is common to have some discomfort after surgery. A follow up visit is important after any surgery. In this visit the doctor will clean and examine the operative site. It is possible that there was packing left in your nose which is causing bad taste in mouth and nose. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. For more queries and assistance visit an ENT specialist. I hope it helps. Best luck ad regards!
Avatar f tn m guessing that the radiation damaged the salivary gland, which caused dry mouth, and hence the back-up/infection in the gland. Currently taking 300mg clindamycin 4 times a day, for two weeks. Doc told me to call after one week if not vast improvement and so far, day 5, not seeing much improvement. Any thoughts, experience would be appreciated.
