Ive been looking at pictures on google of herpes infections on the genitals, and then of the mouth. i was wondering if someone has herpes 1 genital would they have different bumps or leasions than that of hsv2? do the outbreaks vary in differ in any other way such as length of the outbreak. medications to treat it etc.

How long have you had the braces? It could be a reaction to the metal or some sort of irritation. If they don't go away or get worse, I would see your orthodontist.

Have you tried anything yet? A mild antiseptic wash could help. Clotrimazole cream could be tried first and if it resolves the itch and the smell it should fade away these areas you re concerned with.
