Miscarriage with iud

Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage with iud

miscarriage

Avatar f tn It was decided the safest way to help avoid miscarriage is to leave the IUD in until the baby is born. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, were there any complications I should look out for?
5026566 tn?1362512817 I am really scared and was looking for other moms that heard of delivering with an IUD still in place. We are hoping our future child will not have a heart condition or another birth defect.
Avatar f tn I was able to get in for an ultrasound in 2 days to determine if it was a viable pregnancy or not. Seeing the ultrasound with the IUD positioned above the gestational sack was scary. Since the IUD strings were still in place, the doctor explained that at 8 weeks we should remove the IUD. It could have caused miscarriage and I had 3 more visits in the next 4 weeks due to the increased risk of miscarriage. I am currently 32 weeks along with a boy.
Avatar f tn pregnancy with an iud in place can be life threatening. it can cause miscarriage or infertility. it says this on all the commercials, booklets etc. i also had the paraguard but it was awful and fell out.
Avatar f tn I have two friends that concieved while having the IUD. One is 7 months pregnant with a baby girl due in may and the other her baby boy was born in December. They both had complications in the first trimester but they went on to have healthy pregnancies. I dont know if your pregnant you should take a HPT. Use first morning urine and the iud shouldnt effect the result.
Avatar f tn Congrats... I got pregnant with my second with an iud in. The only concern the dr had was when taling it out may cause miscarriage.
Avatar f tn Hi, what was wrong with you when you went? I have taken in total 4 tests all negative .
Avatar f tn Even though the chance of pregnancy while an IUD is in place is extremely low, if it does happen, you should have the IUD removed as soon as pregnancy is confirmed. Pregnancies with IUD increase the risk of pelvic infection, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and early labor and delivery. Ideally urine for pregnancy test should be done after 1 week of your missed periods date.
Avatar f tn I'm 23yrs old and I found out I'm pregnant and I have the IUD fully in place. This will be my third baby and I'm scared cause wasn't ready for another that's why I had IUD. The doctors aren't very helpful with risks since pregnant with IUD on weither take it out or leave it in. I'm 15weeks now and they told me to do the research and make the choice take out or not so need any opinions if this happen someone else what to do.
Avatar f tn s experiences with pregnancy and particularly pregnancy with the Mirena IUD in place. I feel like I am pregnant even though I have had my IUD for 3.25 years.
Avatar n tn I conceived 3 months after my Mirena IUD was removed. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks pregnant. Having had an IUD had nothing to do with the miscarriage, so don't worry.
Avatar n tn I recently found out my iud has failed me! I have been wanting a baby for a while,or at least I thought I did.I am 31 and now that it's to late I'm not sure I do. my Dr said I'm at risk of having a miscarriage cause of my removal of my iud, and now I'm having mixed feelings.
Avatar f tn I had an IUD put in & regret it. I had an ectopic pregnancy & was able to take it out myself (which the dr. said isn't normal) & then it took us over a year to concieve. It's definitely different for each woman, hopefully you don't have as long of a wait for your little miracle to happen. I'd suggest relaxing & not trying so hard. This can be easier said than done, but I've heard so many times that when couples just have fun, they have better luck conceiving.
996919 tn?1249892926 July 30th i went in to have my IUD switched to Mirena, they did a precautionary pregnancy test and it came back with a slight postive. So i was told i needed to remove the IUD and they sent me to get an ultrasound and a blood test. My ultrasound returned no results. My blood test on July 31st came back with a 14.5 hCG level (barely a week along) they waited over the weekend and the next monday i had my second blood test done and it came back with a 7.2 hCG level.
Avatar f tn I've miscarried my first 2 pregnancies... but they were because the birth controls I was on did not work and it led to pregnancy and 2 miscarriages... now I'm 6 weeks with my 3rd and NOT on any birth control.
Avatar f tn Has anyone here gotten pregnant with the mirena IUD still in? Im really worried about what to expect this pregnancy.
Avatar f tn ll have a miscarriage because of how soon I got pregnant. Any other ladies got pregnant soon after having the iud taken out?
Avatar n tn Depending on the location of the IUD it may be removed, it may be left in place and be fine, or it may cause miscarriage or birth deformities.
2082101 tn?1419965061 There is always a small chance you can become pregnant with an IUD. A large number of the reported pregnancies with the IUD result in ectopic pregnancies. But a very small number of pregnancies have resulted in utero with the IUD. They can move, migrate into the uterus or surrounding tissue, although again it is rare. They can also on occation fall out. Be sure to check your strings periodically, and monitor for pain.
Avatar f tn That is a great question. I went on a exercising spree 3years ago and accidently got pregnant with my first and only son. I was not in a good place to have a baby in a bad relationship, but I took the reins on becoming a mommy and I love my son dearly. After his birth I got an IUD placed. Now that I have been married to a wonderful man and removed my IUD in July. We are now trying for a baby. I have been on prenatal pills for 5months and had no luck with a positive pregnancy test.
Avatar f tn I found out that I was pregnant with an IUD (Mirena, only about 4 weeks pregnant.) I had my hCg levels done and they were falling. I had my IUD taken out and bleed slightly for a week with only slight cramps. Did I miscarry or was the light bleeding from the IUD removal? I haven't passed anything indicating the miscarriage but I also don't think there is any hope of a healthy pregnancy if my hCg levels were falling. I'm not sure what to expect. Can you please help?
Avatar n tn I am 42, I had a miscarriage Oct last year. THAT had nothing to do with my age, I had a IUD taken out which left the lining of my uterus thin. I wasn't meant to fall pregnant the same month I had the IUD taken out. I am now 5w 5d and just had my first bloods drawn, I get the results today. I agree with Clysta, give it 6 months. I gave up trying for a baby, so this one was a shock!
Avatar n tn I miscarried at a month pregnant and I couldnt go to the doctor because my parents dont know about it, this was in December. And in January i got an IUD. A week ago, I went to the ER with extreme abdominal and back pain and light headed-ness. Also, that day people told me i was pale and my lips looked blue. I thought this was my IUD moving or something, but I went to the ER, and they did a lot of tests. They did two ultra sounds. The outer one, and the one with the camera that goes up there.
Avatar f tn According to my doctor it doesn't make u gain weight. However she said there's other risk to consider such as pain, or pregnancy than can result in miscarriage.
Avatar n tn By coil fitted - do you mean an IUD? I have read that there can be some complications associated with them. Definitely get checked out by your dr. I agree with Steph though.
541196 tn?1293552936 I got my IUD removed because we wanted to have another baby, and it resulted in a miscarriage. My OB said it was from my IUD. I do not recommend this and have several friends that have tried it and had no success. Ask your doctor for another options. THere's others out there that won't cause so many problems. Good luck!
513175 tn?1222957502 If you are pregnant with the IUD removal of the IUD could cause a miscarriage and leaving it there could cause complications during your pregnancy so it would be a very difficult choice with no absolute outcome either way. I would say, be safe, go to your doctor, if you are pregnant then talk to your Dr. about possible conplications. If you are not pregnant, get it removed wait a couple of cycles so your body "cleans" itself from the hormones and start trying to get pregnant.
