Avatar f tn Hello All, It's been Six days since my last medroxyprogesterone (provera) pill and I'm waitinf for AF to show and nothing! So of course her I go with the worrying. I have PCOS so the chances of me being pregnant right now without the Clomid Metformin and Medroxyprogesterone is slim to none as I haven't had a cycle since July of Last year.
Avatar m tn Had a period in May with no help, missed June and July so I Started my Medroxyprogesterone again in August and started my period later that same month. Missed September, but as of October and without needing the medroxyprogesterone I have been getting my period every month. So my first question is can taking just a couple rounds of progesterone help elevate your hormones? My next question is in regards to some symptoms I'm having and if they are related to things regulating out.
706727 tn?1229093232 I was aslo on medroxyprogesterone last summer due to PCOS and it gave me a flow for 2 weeks ( My menstrual usually last 5 days) and also had bad cramping. She gave it to me to take 5 days out of every month but after the first time, I did not take it again. I would go to the doctor.
Avatar f tn this pill induces a period each month. I was told I have PCOS and this should help regulate everything so I can ovulate on my own monthly. If you are unsure of anything, just ask your doctor!
Avatar f tn anyway Ive been taking the medroxyprogesterone for 2 1/2 days and no significant side effects...a little sluggish feeling kinda blah and dreaming alot more than usual.....
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and my ObGyn had a transvaginal ultrasound. The lining of my uterus was so thick, she has prescribed a 90 day course of Medroxyprogesterone! Before seeing my current Gynecologist, I was told, "oh its normal for a woman to skip a period, and sometimes women that are overweight suffer from hirutism", "some women just bleed heavier and longer than others" I can't believe the malarkey some DR's let spew from their mouths.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am taking Medroxyprogesterone also. I took it for 10 days and 3-4 days later spotting occured, then 2 days after AF arrived. The way I took it was before I went to bed. I've heard it has some bad effects, which was the case the first round. I did see my doctor during the first round of taking (for other reasons) and casually said that "yesterday was the last day" and she had mentioned that AF would come within 10 days.
Avatar f tn More information is that I was on birth control for about 8 years and have been taking medroxyprogesterone for about a year now. I take 2 pills per day for the first 15 days of every month.
Avatar n tn HI, The problem of PCOS needs to be excluded by doing an ultrasound scan and hormonal panel. PCOS is one of the reasons of infrequent menstruation. Once a definite diagnosis is made then appropriated treatment can be initiated. Irregular taking of hormones can complicate matters. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
2051102 tn?1330317633 And I really pray that God intervenes and be a spiritual cure for this pcos. My fiance and I really want to have one more baby. But as I explained to him description and the purpose he became really concerned also and told me to read on it more. As I read the stories and the comments I became sad because for one I have never been through this and for this to be my first time it puts me a bit on edge.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to start trying for a baby. I have pcos and I dont get my period unless I am on some type of medication. My doctor started me in medroxyprogesterone to induce my period then clomid for ovulation today is my last day on it. Just wondering how many women actually get pregnant from this and how long it took. Im pretty new to all this so any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated!
1897345 tn?1374265855 I have PCOS and the only sign that I had was weight gain and weird periods. I was put on Metformin and it help amazingly! Be sure you are going to a doctor that you feel comfortable with. My doctor makes me feel like I am his only patient. When ttc is very important to have a good doctor.
Avatar n tn I am 20 years old and have not had a period for almost a year. I have seen a doctor about this and have been tested for many things including thyroid disorders, pituitary problems genetic tests and hormone imbalances. I have somewhat low estrogen (29) for my age and somewhat high FSH (18). I do not have any other issues than these either. I don't know if this will definitely lead me to early menopause and other health problems or if not having a period really isn't that big of a deal.
Avatar n tn Your doctor probably ordered the ultrasound to make sure that your ovaries are normal in size and that they are not poly cystic. PCOS poly cystic ovarian syndrome is one possibility that causes women to miss their periods and infertility. PCOS has a lot of possible symptoms but some women experience more than others. Another possibility is high prolactin levels...that was probably tested during your blood work though.
Avatar f tn Hi, My doctor put me on medroxyprogesterone to give me my period (I hadn't had one for over a year). It took a full week after taking the last pill to get it. I started Clomid on cd 5-9 and started testing using ovulation predictors on cd 10. I'm now on cd 15 and still no LH surge. Could I be getting a false negative? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I haven't had period since Sept 28 so my Dr put me on medroxyprogesterone 10 days 10mg, but my period came down on day 4. should i continue to finish medroxyprogesterone so should i take metformin???
Avatar m tn t ovulate) and they just sit in there and confirmed PCOS. I was thrown off by this, went for a second opinion and the diagnosis was confirmed for the second time. I can say, if I were you to get a second opinion and that way you will have more time to let it sink in. I went through two miscarriages last year, was placed on Metformin 1000 MG twice a day to help with the insulin resistance that can come with PCOS.
Avatar f tn I finished taking a 10 day supply of medroxyprogesterone 9 days ago and still no period. Should I be concerned? Can I still get pregnant this cycle using iui? Or should I wait for one more cycle after this?
Avatar f tn My periods were very heavy and irregular before going on it and I was diagnosed with PCOS. So its been 12 months since my last injection as I am now in a steady relationship and wanted to see if I was normal after all the years. Ive had every symptom of being pregnant over 12 months - doctor even sent me for a scan - but to date no period or pregnancy.
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn This is used in cases where men feel that they cannot control their sexual impulses. The Medroxyprogesterone acetate will control urges and also may diminish pre-occupation which should make it easier to practice self-control.
Avatar f tn I was bleeding for 3 months straight and my obgyn put me on medroxyprogesterone to make it stop. I started it the day before I was predicted to ovulated. I have been off it over a week and was told when I stopped I should spot and then my period should come normally. I have been having unprotected sex and I am 3 days late on my period. I have no clue what is going on. My questions is has anyone taken this and had this problem?
Avatar f tn Hi I'm 27 years ago and I have a 7 year old daughter. Me and my fiance have been ttc for 3+ years now. I was prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days. I started taking this medicine on the first of March and had a regular cycle on the 19. I didn't take the medicine in April due to me being on antibiotics. I didn't have a period in April and haven't had one so far in May. I'm usually regular with my cycles being off a few days.
Avatar m tn i didnt have a period for years and i took that same stuff to get it and then stuff to stop it since it wouldnt stop by itself i have been like this for years i have not heard that could cause cancer there are lots of women that are irregular i have had many visits to the doc and have had many clean pap results. I now am 36 with two healthy kids and no period yet again..
Avatar n tn Hi I also have PCOS and was diagnosed with it since I was 16. I had to be put on bc to try and help regulate my period. I'm 5'6 and weighed about 240 back in 2012. I'm also insulin resistant so i had a hard time losing weight and was told I would probably have a very hard time trying to conceive down the road due to my health issues. So my doctor put me on Metformin 500mg 2x a day and in a year I had lost 40lbs and my periods had somewhat regulated.
