16221027 tn?1446217790 6 days ago i was perscribed Medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10days. i was having side effects so i decided to stop taking it. and it's been 2 days since the 5th dose. I've been having brown discharge and light cramping in my lower stomach. I'm not sure if this is even right? Or not. I'm also trying to eventually have a baby. i'm 18. i've been with my partner for almost a year. i've never really had regular period.
777396 tn?1329791151 I first wanted to know about side effects. Second I was reading that this particular drug is not recommended as it could cause some sort of pregnancy issue. Wasn't sure about if that was fact or myth. Any input is appreciated.
Avatar n tn Contact your doctor or pharmacist to know the side effects. I would think it would be okay, since you are CD 4 and more than likely having AF.
Avatar f tn Hi EAFarm, I recommend googling the name of this medication and see if you can find out what the possible side effects of this drug are and see if there is any mention of an association with breast cancer. I found a helpful site for looking up side effects of various drugs is www.rxlist.com .
1906894 tn?1321877167 Ive been on medroxyprogesterone for a wk already to hopefully regulate my period but my breast are very sore. I havent felt this soreness since i was pregnant. I know the soreness is normal but I also feel like my breast feel n look bigger. I barely fit a size 34b for over 3 yrs or so n now it fits a lil tight. Is this normal? Are my breast getting bigger? Does my age have something to do with it (20years old).
Avatar f tn I noticed that none of the pills I have tried here were comfortable to use as far as side effects, which I did not experience in Brazil. Weather transitions, geographic location and some environment influence might as well be considered, because I have noticed that none of my Latin-American friends have kept the same health situation as they would in their origin place of birth, etc etc.
Avatar n tn (not this one) Okay, now, my concern is the effcts after STOPPING yasmin. I understand that all bc pills are different and so are we women as far as side effects go. I have read postings about women who stopped taking yasmin and have experienced the following: - anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations and fluttering - depression - excessive weight gain - hair loss *I already have a prob. with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, so I am currently on medication.
237300 tn?1231458318 http://www.medicinenet.com/medroxyprogesterone/article.htm She may be hesitant because its just been 6 weeks, may want to wait a bit to see if your period comes naturally. I waited just over 7 weeks post D&C to start the Provera. Dose can be 10mg provera for 5-10 days (I took mine for 10). You should have a period 3-7 days after the last provera dose, although many drs may want you to wait up to 14 days before doing further testing and/or trying the provera again.
Avatar n tn I do smoke sometimes, otherwise very healthy, and am afraid of the side effects. What is your take on this protocol?
Avatar f tn Now, as someone who suffers from panic attacks, I'm staring at the bottle, scared out of my mind that all of the bad side effects are going to happen to me. This may seem extreme, but it's my cycle of thinking. I also have had a build up of PMS, therefore am experiencing some hormone imbalance, which I confirmed with my doctor is NOT the same as clinical or post partum depression. Does anyone have some advice for me?
Avatar f tn This is actually one of the side effects of the drug. Are you taking it on the days prescribed? Are you taking it at exactly the same time for each dose? Those are things that can affect how well the medication works. I would wait about four more days and then contact the doctor. Some medications can take several months to "kick in" but this shouldn't be the case here.
Avatar m tn Hello, Unfortunately there are no 'remedies' (herbal) or otherwise which will safely reduce a man's sexual desire. Antiandrogen drugs such as cyproterone or medroxyprogesterone can be used but they have plenty of side effects. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn yeah.. its the side effect of depo.. consult your doctor now..so that she can give you the right contraceptives method...
Avatar f tn I have pcos and I dont get my period unless I am on some type of medication. My doctor started me in medroxyprogesterone to induce my period then clomid for ovulation today is my last day on it. Just wondering how many women actually get pregnant from this and how long it took. Im pretty new to all this so any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn any suggestions from ppl that may have gone through this would be appreciated? The doctor told me that the side effects from hysterectomy are not that bad as long as they leave the ovaries. I am in a little bit of a panic and not sure what route would be best.
Avatar f tn My mom really doesn't want me on that or the stronger birth control. The Metforum apparently makes my aunt really sick (I knew she was on it, but not the side-effects) and my mom took the same pill they're going to want me on if Provera doesn't work, but it made her crazy. I don't usually have weird drug reactions like that, so I am still open to trying it if these two months don't go the way they're supposed to. I'm putting my foot down this time around.
Avatar f tn I tried getting on them when i was younger but the side effects were so bad I did not want to be on them. If anyone has had similar issues please any info is appreciated. My question is also if take this med and I do get my period will it last longer than normal or should it just be like a normal period 4-5 days long?
Avatar f tn http://www.drugs.com/pdr/provera.html#ixzz0p34uv1bA Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Provera.
Avatar n tn From what i've read PCOS effects some women a bit different, some the same but the things it has in common is it's hard to concieve a child, other family members have diabeties and women in your family have problems with their periods in some way, my mum has always had heavy periods like the blood would come out like water it was that bad, same happens to one of my aunties and some of my female cousins have really severe cramping so they have to be on birth control, it seems diabeties only effec
Avatar f tn Hiya, Although there may not appear to be harmful components in Deproprovera the side effects listed are horrendous. Myself and 2 of my friends began receving the injections at age 36. After 2 years of injections 2 of us had completely lost our sex drive, we are all emotially manic and one chronically depressed. Vaginal dryness & irritation also occured.
Avatar f tn I was given a prescription for pain pills and only took one 5mg vicodin after the procedure but was doing laundry and cleaning the house by the afternoon. I didn't have any side effects that I read about online. I now either don't have a period or will have one or two days where I have a couple spots on a pantyliner. But, it may or may not be for you since you have a different situation with the fibroids. I'd at least mention it to your Dr and see what his/her opinion is about it.
Avatar f tn Little by little you will decrease your use of progesterone during the ninth week of pregnancy. Side Effects of Progesterone What are the side effects of taking progesterone? Natural progesterone does not have any known side effects on a pregnancy. This includes the progesterone in Crinone gel suppositories, Prometrium capsules, and the progesterone in oil for injection.
1433738 tn?1284359825 Does anyone know if this are side effects of the birth control or can I be indeed be pregnant..
Avatar f tn I was on clomid for a while and then we stopped because at that time the side effects were killing us both. We never used OPK's Charted, ETC I just went back to the doctor when she told me to come and that was it. Anyhoo, now we know what to expect with the side effects, but clomid according to my RE is the next option if Metformin alone doesn't regulate my cycle/ovulation and get us that bundle of joy that we've been hoping and praying for for so long.
Avatar n tn However, some women do state that they experience a preference for different men's odors and not others on the pill. Having a different body odor is also not listed as one of Aviane's side effects. The best way to get an answer to this question may be to call the company that makes the pill and speak to their consumer line. They will have a record of every complaint associated with the pill.
1611503 tn?1325485790 Unless you're over 30, they won't give you clomid until you've been trying for one year. The side effects from clomid are killer and its not guaranteed to work. Potential Complications of Clomid The main risk associated with Clomid use is the potential for developing Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS). OHSS can occur with the use of any type of ovulation stimulating drug. It happens when cysts begin to form on the ovaries, causing them to swell to a very large size.
Avatar f tn If you have overgrowth of endometrial tissue, that will have more to do with your odd menstrual issues than the synthroid, The Medroxyprogesterone is not a double whammy with the synthroid because synthroid is a thyroid hormone and progesterone is reproductive hormone - while all hormones must work together in the body, they each have a different function. Typically, side effects from Synthroid only last until your body has adjusted to having the hormones it's been doing without.
Avatar m tn My OBGYN first thought it was uterine bleeding and put me on provera (medroxyprogesterone) I was supposed to take it for 10 days, but stopped. The side effects were unbearable. I was bloated, constantly feeling full, constantly thirsty, chest pains, chest tightness, all of a sudden I developed acne on my chin. I stopped taking 5 days into it and within 24 hours everything started to go back to normal and the acne was clearing up, no more chest pain, low back pain, ab pain went away, etc.
