Lyrica with other medications

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica with other medications

lyrica

1202033 tn?1273771354 I would not stop the Lyrica and pace yourself with the benadryl.I used Nyquil without the decongestant for a few nights in the beginning to help me sleep. There is always the possibilty of the benadryl being habitforming not truly addicting. As long as you do not become dependant on the benadryl for sleep all the time I don't think there is no harm using it a few nights.
Avatar n tn I have had FM for years now. They had me on some much ****. I even tried the Lyrica. I take no medications. All I am willing to take are vitamins. My sensitivity levels can not have the side effects of any medications.

Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
307897 tn?1242419260 Besides Lyrica and Neurontin, what other pain med is really out there for Fibromyalgia? I have taken both. Loved the Lyrica. I had no pain but the side effects were terrible, including the two broken toes. My GP put me on Neurontin and I am up to 600mg as of last Friday. One 300mg in the morning and one of the same at bedtime. I still have pain but not quite as bad but u know it's still there. I have some side effects from it, too, especially legs and ankles swelling daily.
Avatar f tn It does sound like the medication is causing some CNS problems in your case. I know that there are other medications that can cause 'tics', and it's a side-effect. I also feel it is best to discuss these symptoms with your physician. Maybe they can change you to something that will help without the annoying symptoms. Best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn Anyone have luck with other pain medications other than Percoset for nerve pain?
959341 tn?1246884689 Treatment can include lyrica and other pain medications for neuropathic pain (pain coming from nerves), such as lyrica, neurontin, or elavil. Eye movements are not typically something that would trigger Lhermitte's phenomenon; if you have eye pain when you move your eyes, inflammation of the nerve to the eye (optic neuritis) would need to be excluded.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Lyrica and Amitriptyline at night...I am post surgery (about 8 months). I was on Neurontin but the side effects were too much for me to handle as I am very susceptible to meds. I would ask your Dr about it...the main objective for me was to help me sleep and it does do that. Also, the Lyrica has helped some with the muscle twitches and the vibrating feeling (if you get those things).
543791 tn?1216381777 The Commerical for Lyrica alone is terrifying with all the disclaimers and I've heard some bad things from other people.. I'm one of those people who always seems to have the worst case scenario happen so I just assume the worst and have never felt good about trying it. I don't have any great reason just that feeling you get. I may give it a whirl..at first I was resistant b/c it was soo new,, but now it's been out a while.......
Avatar f tn Before taking Adderall, tell your doctor if you are using any of the following drugs: blood pressure medications; a diuretic (water pill); cold or allergy medicines (antihistamines); acetazolamide (Diamox); chlorpromazine (Thorazine); ethosuximide (Zarontin); guanethidine (Ismelin); haloperidol (Haldol); lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid); methenamine (Hiprex, Mandelamine, Urex); phenytoin (Dilantin), phenobarbital (Luminal, Solfoton); propoxyphene (Darvon, Darvocet); reserpine; sodium
4939681 tn?1361299299 I have a combo of neuro pain and inflammatory pain. The inflammatory pain is in the joints, chest, and everywhere the lymph vessels flow and pool. The neuro pain is what I think this "flu-like" pain is coming from. For instance my skin hurts to exist. I don't want anything to touch it or even the wind to blow on it. Kinda like sunburn, but as though every nerve ending in my skin is exaggerated 10 fold. I think the pain in the bottom of the feet is neuro also.
Avatar f tn The plus side is that there are other medications that can be used in place of Lyrica to treat certain issues. I would encourage your future son in law to explore other options if possible.
1088430 tn?1259159773 This is especially the case with seizure medications (like lyrica), heart medications and SSRIs (which are all types of medications used to treat migraines which is why I mention them all). With Lyrica specifically, it should be slowly tapered off over a least a week, if not longer. Your doctor will give you the safest schedule to stop the medication on if you ever want to stop taking it.
Avatar m tn So far, I have found this to be manageable, but you need to be careful, especially with things like driving. Second, I have developed some minor issues with bodily coordination, and I believe that the medication is the cause. Again, it has been manageable, but you need be careful, and self-aware. Best wishes!
Avatar n tn I now know that the drugs Neurontin and Lyrica can produce angioedema, but how can I be sure it is not from something else. First with Neurontin 300 mg. HS on 5th morning my lower lip looked slightly swollen and white underneath as if I had had Botox. A month later I was put on Lyrica 50 mg. HS which was really beginning to resolve the C7 radicultitis when I awoke on day 13 with both lips slightly swollen, thick, same whiteness below lower lip. That was yesterday morning.
Avatar n tn t think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both. However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar n tn Since the lip has remained the same for 7 days, he feels it is okay to continue with both drugs, especially since I got such great nerve pain relief days 12-16 the first time around with the Lyrica. I will, of course, be alert for any changes. I may also get one of the drugs you listed in your post to have in the house in case the Benadryl doesn't work. Thank you for your help and interest.
1088430 tn?1259159773 my doctor was so worried about that with me. We came to the conclusion that with one of medications I was on it curved my appetite and then the lyrica was said to gain weight. however, i lost weight. so I wasn't complaining. When I did eat, I just ate right. Lots of natural foods, no processed foods, no nitrates, no soda/caffeine, no hfcs, lots of fruits and lots of veggies.
Avatar n tn Just wanted to say thanks man! I was already skeptical about it and now I really don't think I'm going to even start it. i have a job where I really can't afford to be walking around in a daze and slurring my speach. LOL! I wonder why it affects people with addiction tendencies? Does it give a person a euphoric feeling or something?
