lyrica and paxil

my daughter is very anxious so the dr put her on both the cymbalta 30 mg with the paxil of 20 for one week and then 15 paxel for another week and then 10 paxil and increase to 60 cymbalta. she had a brain trauma in a car accident and has to deal with alot so is this too much. she had a seizure on the ultram but she took too many at one time for a headache..

Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.

I have nerve pain also, and Lyrica has been helping me for the past 8 months.

It only makes you tired? Does it stop any of the pains associated with Fibro? Or any muscle aches/pains? Any other side effects?

One of my doctors and I decided to take me off the Paxil and try Wellbutrin. My family doctor advised against it so know I am being weaned off the Paxil with "one of its sister drugs". I am having severe withdrawal: depression, sleepliss nights, headaches that mimic migraines, blurred vision, dizziness, irritable bowel, etc. The bowel problems alone make adhering to a specific schedule virtually impossible.

Yes anxiety can cause headache and pressure. Feels like you head is gonna explode. Its one of my symptomes and I hate it. More than likely its due to you neck and shoulders tensed up which creates spasms. Trying to relax is easier said than done. My suggestion to you is get a massage, and continue going to your doctor to see if you can't ease you pain and anxiety.

Hi lou yes burning skin and burning in the head and chest pain and numbness and tingling starts in my face and continues through my body. My psy said give the medicine time 6 wks but I can't continue on this way it has to not be the right one for me. Been on it 3wks but weaned off of paxil and wasn't sure if it were paxil withdrawl or the lexapro affects.

Does the dizziness and spaciness ever go away with Lyrica? I been taking this drug since December and I am still in so much pain in addition to the above :( (And I can't tolerate any of the 6 SSRIs) Paxil was pretty much the last straw which I took long ago for treatment of GAD..

You're talking about Tamoxifen and Paxil used at the same time, yes? It has been proven that certain SSRI's which is what Paxil is do stop the benefits of tamoxifen. From Pharmacist's Letter's: July 2009, vol 25, no. 7 "You'll see new warnings not to combine tamoxifen with certain SSRIs..paroxetine, fluoxetine, and sertraline. .... Women have a higher risk of breast cancer recurrence if they take tamoxifen along with paroxetine, fluoxetine, or sertraline...

Thanks lynn but I have already tried neurontin and lyrica and cymbala,zoloft,prozac,celexa.lexapro,amitriptyline,trazodone,effexor,paxil,nortipyline,lamicital,and ,etc...I know there is more just cant think of them right now but I have tried them all....sometimes I just dont know if its the thing for my body and maybe I am doing it more harm than good by staying on it....but I will continue on for a while....my biggest thiing right now is the dizziness,headaches and not wantig to go outside...

The pain resolved it self up until a month ago, I ate food with chilli on it and that completely set me off. I now have the pain back, nothing much helps. I tried Paracetemol which helped a little and came off Paxil.

I take paxil 25 cr now and it is working pretty good. My doc upped me to 37.5 and I noticed no difference either so went back down to 25 without a problem. I think as long as you are taking paxil going down on dose is not an issue, it's if you go off all at once but my son who is 14 and has just developed panic attacks was put on zoloft 50 mgs and it has helped him. I took zoloft first but gave me gastro problems so doc wanted me to switch.

This was an excellent choice, as it helps with my anxiety, I use less clonazepam and I feel less drowsy. Lyrica did give me blurred vision and extra paranoia at the start, and that was indeed awful for the first couple weeks as I upped my dosage! After the initial troubles, I found that it really was better than gabapentin for me now. I have not gained weight, but remain the same weight I call my meds weight. I just try to remain active and not pig out.

I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.

What happens if i find out im pregnant and am on Paxil? I hear that it is very bad to be on Paxil especially during the first trimester. I definately want to come off of it-but i cant do it cold turkey being that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. If, in the past, i missed a dose-I would begin feeling very dizzy and nauseaus. Im sure this affect or worse wouldnt be good for the baby either. If I ween myself off slowly-im still taking Paxil in my system during the first trimester.

He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Hello. Does anyone in this group take Paxil and crave alcohol? I do and never did before....I told my Dr. and he said Paxil doesn't cause alcohol cravings. He also wants to keep me on Paxil..I just want off it..

I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.

I have an anxeity disorder that triggers OCD and Paxil has worked very very well and given me a great life since being on it. I figure I should try something different to see if it helps the weight gain and if Zoloft doesn't work, or help me to lose the weight then I will have to cut off the wine and go back on Paxil. t heard much about doing it the other way around. And why Paxil and not Prozac or Lexapro? Lots of questions here. Sounds like your main problem, from the meds you're on, has been diagnosed as depression, not anxiety. True? If so, you might get better help on the depression forum.

Now, one day, I forgot to take my 30mg of oxycontin extended release (ER) in the morning, as prescribed, and I had started cutting back on the immediate release (IR) from 9x15mg per day to 7x15mg per day.

RA is that reacurring anxiety?? To answer your question only ur doctor will be able to say whether it will help YOU! but in theory it should help cause Paxil is used to control anxiety disorders as well as depression. 20 years to be on Paxil is a long time, you must of been put on the drug when it very first came onto the market. Also did you tapper off slowly or come off quick? it could be a rebound effect from not having the drug. Best to have a chat with your doc.
