Lexapro ibuprofen

Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro ibuprofen

lexapro

My doctor called back today and decided to put me on Lexapro rather than Cymbalta. It sounds like it will be a better fit for me because of my anxiety/panic attack problems. Anyone on or been on Lexapro?
I read that Lexapro can have serious side effects such as bleeding (gums, gastrointestinal, rectal). Is this possible? I've had some of the other side effects: raapid heart, sweating, odor from armpits, more anxious, bleeding gums). I started taking multi-vitamins and Omegas 3-6-9 and running. Only ran a few days (5 in a week and a half) and did light pushups and dips. Could this be enough to aid the Lexapro to create bleeding? Also read it may cause blood clots.
My doctor is switching me from Effexor to Lexapro. I was on 150 mg of effexor for 2-3 years and recently have been tapering off down to 50 mg. My doctor says I should start Lexapro now but I am scared to take it while taking Effexor but Effexor withdrawals are bothering me even though I am slowly tapering off. Is it safe to take SNRI (effexor) with SSRI (lexapro)? Anyone took it together?
However, the ANA is still out there and not sure if that can be explained by Lexapro. I don't want to build a case for Lupus with side effects from Lexapro. Can you help?
LEXAPRO, does anyone have any information on this medication, does it cause night sweats, abdominal pain, menstrual complicatons ect?
Is it feasible that my brain-dead feelings are attributed to Lexapro? I'm afraid to go off of it because of my previous moods before Lexapro (suicidal ideation, etc). Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I am on 10 mg of lexapro and have a really bad cough and sore throat. Is there anything i can take for it?
Hi, I was on Lexapro 10mg for about 3 weeks and my doctor up my dose to 20mg. The last 2 days, I've had a headache off and on. I had a headache off and on for the first week when I took the 10mg and then it went away. I know headache is a common side effect but was wondering what I could take for it? I read that ibuprofen and asprin can cause interactions. Are the interactions for people that take a lot or what? Thanks for the help.
Can anyone give me an idea of how long it usually takes for your metabolism to recalibrate after stopping Effexor and/or Lexapro? I've gained significant weight while on these drugs (despite an intense exercise program and careful diet). My nutritionist and MD told me that the drugs likely altered my metabolism, but no one can tell me how long it will take to correct that. Most frustrating, I've noticed that since I stopped taking both, my weight gain has accelerated.
I was suffering from alot of stress and then I started to get depressed so, I went to the doctor 9 years ago and he prescribed lexapro and vioxx due to a knot that had come up on my neck ' thinking back on that I believe it was caused from all the tension headaches I was having" anyway that night as usual I put my daughter to bed took the meds. then I went to bed.
Over the following two days I took several Ibuprofen for the headaches. (I off and on take Ibuprofen and never have a problem with it at all). Anyway, I started getting sharp pains in the upper part of my stomach (just to my left of the center breastbone). On the advice of my pharmacist I started taking Pepcid AC to control the stomach acid as I have had a sore throat and coarse voice the past two days.
Oxycodone, Ibuprofen, Vit.
Since all this anxiety, panic and RLS began, roughly 1996 I have been on paxil, serzone, klonopin, zoloft, lexapro, atarax, valium, and tried other remedies such as St Johns Wort. I am currently on: Zoloft, atarax, and xanax as needed. Requip for RLS. Albuterol for asthma as needed. Singulair mostly in spring for asthma. Gabapentin for the FIBRO pain. Excedrin and prescrip Ibuprofen for cramps and migraines.
I didn't had a history of headaces until I got on and the got off of Lexapro. I was on Lexapro for three years. The headaches started the week I got on Lexapro. They became less frequent during the 3 years I was on Lexapro, but were always intense when they occurred. The headaches (among other side effects) were the reason I got off of Lexapro. I had headaches every day for the first 2 months I was off Lexapro. They are becoming less frequent, but they're still very intense at times.
so, if you're taking ibuprofen it is probably a good idea to not mix the lexapro and ibuprofen and I wouldn't suggest getting a prescription NSAID after all. Usually the prescribing information says something about when side-effects tend to go away... but, I couldn't find it. But... I'd suggest calling your pharmacist if you don't want to wait for your next doctor's appointment.. they'll probably be able to tell you when you can expect the side-effects to go away.
Like over the counter aspirin or ibuprofen or even taking kids vitamins. Does anyone else have problems since they came off their medicines? I use to be able to take vitamins, minerals over the counter stuff but now my body reacts weird like my pulse will raise up and my blood pressure will rise and I just won't feel good or I will feel weird after taking stuff.
800 mg's of Ibuprofen or tylenol don't help at all. I'm tired of snapping at my kids because my head hurts so bad. The achiness is mostly in my legs, and I can handle that with soaks in the tub. It's the headaches that are killing me. I'm taking all the vitamins recommended except for the L-Tyrosine because I take Lexapro for depression and I'm not sure if I can take the L-Tyrosine with it. Any advice about the headaches and taking the L-Tyrosine w/Lexapro would be greatly appreciated.
I've had experienced these headaches for the past 2.5- 3 months since getting off of Lexapro. My Dr. gave me some samples of Maxalt (10mg) & Imitrex (100mg) but after reading the information inserts included with each drug describing the possible side effects of each of these I'm a bit concerened about taking them. My headaches are usually (not always) located on the left side of my head, above and behind my left eye.
Abilify, Buspar, Lexapro, Tofranil. The big thing for me recently was that I needed my pdoc to stop prescribing me Tegretol...which was horrible for me. Finally after a few heart to hearts with her regarding Tegretol we discovered that the reason she had me on it was a misunderstanding. Easy enough, so now I'm finally off that med, yay! I feel pretty stable lately when I manage to take my meds on time.
Will I have side effects coming off such a low dose? I've taken lexapro in the past. Once for like 6 months 10mg. When I weened off that over a 2 or 3 week period the only thing I got were some minor brain saps here and there. Pretty tolerable. Thanks! Hoping the paxil will help me get to feeling even better than what I am now. I've been having constant tension headaches for 3 straight days now even after my anxiety has pretty much lifted. Tylenol or ibuprofen don't do much..
Someone may remember my hives that lasted for months, the Dr. had finally put me on Lexapro which ended the horrendous hives I had been suffering from. He had given it to me for anxiety so it was really just an accident that it helped me. I figured the hives were related to the anxiety, duh ! Recently after my sleepwalking incident my new Dr. took me off the Lexapro because I was taking it and cymbalta at the same time.
While I do not generally have anxiety, this is extremely anxiety provoking and probably exacerabates the symptoms. I have tried taking Lexapro for it (didn't work for chest pain and I had terrible side effects). Do all these tests My question is, considering my general health status and the numerous tests complete, does this rule out heart conditions? Thank you for your help.
Does anyone take Citalopram? (which is just like lexapro). Just want to know if anyone had side effects or if it helped them in any way?? I am one of those who hates to take meds and doesn't unless Im way desperate!! I have a bad cold right now and won't even take anything for it, cept ibuprofen. :) I am afraid to take my anxiety meds!! I don't want to become dependent upon them. I get anxiety attacks on and off.. i can go two months without having one..
was in bigeminy in 2007 pretty much stayed there and it didn't bother me much because I knew nothing was wrong with me. I couldn't stand taking anything other than Ibuprofen with the exception of twice trying something my dr wanted me to take - scared the heck out of me. After my ablation in August 2009 I was afraid of the beta blockers they prescribed but my pvc's came back; so I had to go on them or face another abltion...
If I had to choose today what to take for pain or fever (Tylenol vs. Ibuprofen) I guess it would be Tylenol since both GI docs have said I can take that. My pre-biopsy instructions in 2003 had "do not take Motrin one week prior to or after the biopsy". I was offered Percocet post biopsy for pain if I needed it (which I didn't). The Demerol and Versed pretty much took care of any immediate post biopsy pain :) Hope you're doing good!
Say here and told me that I needed more sleep and to change diet come back in six months, I did things were fine for a while and then in July headaches were back, fatigue, tingling on the top of my right foot, not that I thought much of it but I have had difficulty in swallowing my food for the last two years (I thought it was the lexapro causing dry mouth).. but it has gotten worse, I have to take a drink with every bite.
Long story short I took Klonopin .25mg once a day and lexapro once a day 10mg for about 2 months. I weaned off both mess over a 2 week period. The reason, is bc I didn't want to be on a benzo I had to take everyday. My dr put me back on Ativan (lorazepam) .5mg to take when needed. After my last dose of Klonopin and lexapro I felt a little strange an anxiety was kinda creepin up, so about a day or two with no drugs..
It doesn't affect me while I'm sleeping, and it generally gets worse as the day progresses. It seems to be unaffected by Ibuprofen. It feels as if I have a great deal of sinus pressure on that side as well, but after several antibiotics and different medications to help including Nasonex, Allegra-D, Mucinex & nasal rinses, no relief. I do not have any tearing of the eye, nausea or vomiting.
There is nothing that is non narcotic that is going to give him the Vicodin feeling. May I suggest to continue that hot baths or showers and take 800 mg Ibuprofen. The Ibuprofen will help ease the achiness. It won't completely make it disappear. It WILL take the edge off. There is no miracle cure for withdrawals. Believe me, I have been through it too many times. Hang in there, I know it is tough to see him suffer. Just a couple more days and he will feel much better. I hope this helps.
