When I started using 2u Lantus in morning, 2 weeks ago, I'd go low in the late afternoon/early evening, and then my morning sugars would be elevated ... 140s, 150s. So I split the dose: I'm now using 1.5u Lantus AM & 1u Lantus PM. It definitely works better than 2u QD, and I've checked the middle of the night - not a problem. The drug sheet for Lantus doesn't mention BID dosing, but my internet articles do. What are your thoughts, and is Levemir better for BID dosing?

I also suffer from major cyclic depression. Right now my depression is totally out of control. I take Verapmil, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Dilaudid and use a Fentany patch. I'm concerned something in my cocktail has tossed my depression off balance.
Hi...I am on lexapro 10mg for anxiety and have been on it for a year and a half and loving it!! and I've been on klonopin and xanax as needed..for a while....example...I would take .5mg klonopin one day then skip 2 days then .5mg xanax and skip 2 day then a klonopin .5mg... so over all I am on 3 pills a week...my concerns are dependancy,tolerance and addiction..and withdrawals.....any advice would be greatly appreciated...
Did they try to have you take it at a different time of day? Often on first dosing, a person will get more anxious, for example, before it starts to work. They can be very sedating at first, that's been my experience. Lexapro is known for causing nausea at first, so often it's suggested to be taken with meals.

m wondering if there is anyone else out there who is dosing at 2.5 mg of lexapro and is seeing results or if this is just to low of a dose to expect any results?
I am a 180 pound male. When she tried me on zoloft at 50mg by day 3 I couldn't sleep and I felt my skin crawling, I dropped down to 25 mg, but after about 2 weeks I was starting to feel frazzled again, so she took me off. This is why she started me low on the 2.5 mg of lexapro, she felt that maybe I would feel some effects.
You're talking about Tamoxifen and Paxil used at the same time, yes? It has been proven that certain SSRI's which is what Paxil is do stop the benefits of tamoxifen.

I have just started Lexapro at 2.5mg and now up to 5mg alternating with 2.5mg every other day. I find myself very sleepy (spacey) and weak feeling some days. Wondering if this will go away?
i have never taken lexapro but have taken many other antidepressants and some of them have raised my blood pressure. did this just start right after taking this med? if it did it's probably the lexapro. i agree with above post that you might adapt to this med but if your blood pressure continues to be high then you might want to think about another med. take care.
Your doctor is not very well informed. Lexapro takes about for to six weeks to work, and it does take time when you up the dosage. Usually modern dosing, to play it safe, is to go up by 5mg increments, 10mg for depression, 20 mg for anxiety.
Does anyone have information regarding the mixing of these two drugs with alcohol... I understand that it is not good to mix drugs with alcohol, but I would like to know of experiences with mixing those two drugs, lexapro and Vicadin, alone.
