lexapro

525976 tn?1212467993 Hi, I just went on the birth control pill (Sprintec) a little over a month ago and recently I have been having severe anxiety. I have always had problems with anxiety and have had panic attacks 1-2 time per year or less for a long time. However, it never affected me to the point of dysfunction until now. In the past 3-4 days I have felt dizzy, anxious, and unfocused constantly and have had one or more panic attacks every day.
Avatar f tn Now that I am off of the birth control, I am going to talk to my doctor about trying lexapro again. I can deal with the weight gain, but not the anxiety.
Avatar f tn I started taking Birth Control less than a month ago and every few days I start feeling edgy, and have a hard time falling asleep. I have also awaken feeling this way too. It doesnt last long. Could this mean my dosage is too high? I actually dont want to even take the pill. Taking anxiety medication is enough pills for me. Im only 31.
Avatar f tn We have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months now and I have not been on birth control for atleast ten months. I have been perscribed previously to take Lexapro and i was wondering if it was safe to take this while trying to get pregnant?
Avatar f tn im not sure about birth control but i can add to your list. im a student of psychotherapy and a long time anxiety suffer and im on lexapro now with very good results. good luck if you give me like 10minutes i can get you the info.
Avatar f tn I take lexapro with loestrin fe birth control as well as my medication for diabetes. So far, if anything I am getting better sleep and overall feel better than I have in years. My anxiety hasn't competely gone away, but my depression has greatly improved.
Avatar f tn I had a problem sort of like that. I think what the doctor told me was that, she wanted to put me on a different dose of birth control, because it makes your hormones do funky things (well obviously), so your moods might be a bit irratic.
Avatar m tn Helllo, I was on the generic form of Yasmine birth control, lexapro, wellbutrin and clonazepem for eight years. My husband and I have decided after one year of being married that we would like to start a family of our own. I went off my birth control on the 1rst of October 2012. Since then I have gotten off the lexapro completely. As of right now I am only taking half a dose of the wellbutrin (150mg) and 2mg of clonazepam daily.
237053 tn?1258828426 Can birth control cause side effects such as numbness, tingling, dizziness, fatigue, and weakness? I quit taking them just in case. Just curious if anyone has heard of this. Also the last time my symptoms were here two years ago, I was taking Lexapro. Neither my dr or neuro at the time thought that the antidepressent could cause such neuro symptoms.
2102085 tn?1350866645 I start my clinicals for nursing in 3 weeks and need to get better! I am currently on 10mg of Lexapro and Portia birth control. I was thinking of either increasing my Lexapro dosage or trying something else. I had a pretty serious adverse reaction to Venlafaxine in the past, so switching meds scares me a bit. I was also thinking of going off of my birth control to see if that helps... but it could also make me even moodier!
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has heard of Lexapro causing birth defects if the male is taking the Lexapro? My husband has been taking Lexapro for sometime and his primary care physican instructed him to stop taking in b/c we are trying to get pregnant. I was just looking for some facts to confirm this.
Avatar f tn Besides the Big Brother aspect of this that is offensive, she has told you that your birth control must be the Pill when you could just as easily use an IUD, and is trying to bring your boyfriend into it even if you might change boyfriends sometime. So not only is the approach heavy-handed, it is absurd. What she DOES have the right to do, is ask you (not your boyfriend) to sign an informed-consent document about Lexapro. Any doctor would have the right to do that.
Avatar n tn I was on the birth control pill at the time too and I know that not only can the birth control pill cause weight gain, but so can most SSRI's. I figured I was screwed anyway. There was no way to distinguish between weight gain while being on both at the same time. I had to ween off the Celexa for a drug study and for about 2-3 weeks I did feel the dizziness (which I just thought was fun and went along with it), but the nausea was the worst for me. I used to twitch a bit too.
Avatar m tn t know how I felt about my boyfriend of 2 years among many other symptoms. I stopped taking the birth control and by November 2009 I was tired of fighting the depression on my own so I started taking Lexapro. I have been taking 2 /10mg pills a day and am still feeling the depression however it is not near as bad. I no longer have thoughts of suicide and am able to enjoy the things I once did.
Avatar f tn depression, anxiety, panic attacks, restless leg syndrome, dizziness, and loss of impulse control meaning I will feel immediately FURIOUS over something as small as not being able to put my contact in the first time. This is NOT like me. Please help me. I can't live like this. Wellbutrin is not working out for me. I don't know a safe way to get off of it and get my life back.
Avatar f tn I am 22wks pregnant and i take lexapro and xanax for panic attacks and depression. my question is has anyone taken xanax during pregnancy if so was the baby ok?
4043310 tn?1355912647 Two months after he was born i see those bad drug commercials saying babies are having major birth defects from certain antidepressants during pregnancy and lexapro was on the list!! I have been trying to live by the idea that if it isn't naturally occurring then it isn't natural for my baby to have. I've been struggling with depression as well during this pregnancy and all i can say is this too shall pass and definitely do not go through it alone!
Avatar m tn I Have been on Lexapro for about six weeks now and I really dont feel better. The only way that I can get through the day is with the help of xanax. I am just wondering if anyone on this site has tried lexapro and just to see if it worked with anyone. My doctor said that I had GAD so I was just wondering as well what other medications could be suitable for this other than lexapro. I really want something to work because I really want to try to get off the xanax as soon as I can.
Avatar f tn I have been on 10 mg of propranolol 2x a day for 3 months for (POTS) Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia and I have a anxiety disorder that has been totally out of control again. My doctor wants me to go on 10mg lexapro I am very afraid of medication and was wondering whats the best time to take this medication morning or night and can you take these two together.
Avatar f tn I am not on any form of birth control and have not been for years (12). My panic attacks anxiety kind of started around the time I was started on depo!! I have been back the zoloft since March 29th. I was feeling better the first few weeks then I am now!! I know I really need to give it time but yet I feel like if I give it time and it does not work then I felt awful for a month for nothing!! I do have xanex when needed but really hate to take it, and take ambian at night for sleep!!
Avatar m tn Lexapro reduces the likelihood of relapse, helping individuals maintain long-term emotional stability. Minimal Side Effects: Compared to some other antidepressants, Lexapro is associated with relatively fewer side effects. Customized Dosing: Healthcare providers can adjust the dosage to meet the specific needs of each patient. Easy to Use: Lexapro is typically taken as a simple daily pill, making it convenient for users.
Avatar n tn This has been bothering me for a few months and I am not sure if its nothing or something. Whenever I get tired or say in a meeting and start to feel sleep, I get a jolt that goes through my mid right arm to the finger next to my thumb. I also sometimes get it in my left foot and lower leg. The finger moves slightly. I know that it means I'm tired because I do get it sometimes when I fall asleep. I was reading other posts and I have been on antidepressants for about six years?
616534 tn?1233236497 I am now on Bupropreon (sorry for the spelling) which is the opposite of Lexapro and it works better for me as it treats my ADD and my mood swings.
Avatar f tn Hi Lori, I just wanted to say I am on this journey with you. I've been on Lexapro for five years (with the ocassional break). I have acute chronic anxiety and panic attacks. I've been weaning off 20 mg of Lexapro. I too am beginning to experience some of the symptoms that reveal my anxiety disorder. I cannot do SSRI's anymore - I've been on Paxil and Lexapro, both left me with weight gain (which dropped off quickly), and a complete loss of creativity.
Avatar f tn Well It's been 5 days on lexapro and last night I cut the pill in half, now 5mg, because of the stomach pain and nausea in the morning. Just nausea this morning. Called my doctor yesterday, but of course no return call. I guess I'll have to make another apt. Still crying every morning and wondering if I should stop this anti depressant or not. I hate to waste 5 horrible days if it will start working soon. Canceled my apt to my hep doctor yesterday.
Avatar f tn I felt so high and seemed like I had no control over my own life..and that was only after 2 weeks..my doctor took me off! I hope you find one best suited for you. I hear good things about Lexapro, one being that is has the least side effects for the majority who take it. Wishing you the best of luck!
Avatar n tn , because it does control my anxiety, but it feels like a ball and chain. If you can use Lexapro, I really hope that worked for you. I cannot take any type of SSRI antidepressants or wellbutrin, which really limits anything that might help me other than Xanax, which has been my constant companion for 15 years! I will probably never be able to get off of it, with the risk of seizures after so many years on this med. I wish doctors would be much more careful when prescribing Xanax.
