hysterectomy

i laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy in 2003 now i have abdomen pain on my left side what is it
My scar area is touchy, but definitely does not burn. About the pain on your right side..... I was having the same pain, but on my left side over the past couple of weeks. Last week, they found a golf ball sized cyst in my ovary, and they said this explains some of the pain. So, make sure to pay close attention to that. I'm not sure why you had your hysterectomy, but I know that mine was really unwelcomed. I'm 25, and ruptured during my last csection.
She knows it is possible to have pain but she is wondering if what is causing it since the uterus had been remove. The pain she has is not steady but comes on and off. Sometimes quite suddenly and sometimes only on one side of the lower abdomen. She talk to her doctor and was just told to take tyleno #3.
If you ovaries and uterus have both been removed the WHI study (estrogen only arm) shows an increase risk of stroke for those on HRT and no significant increase risk of heart attack. Having a hysterectomy for chronic pelvic pain does not always cure your pelvic pain. This is well documented in the literature.
I am 26 and had a Hysterectomy almost a yr ago. My scar is really sore still and burns still ...is that normal? and also my right side of my pelvic area hurts alot?
I recently had a hysterectomy and am now 2 weeks later suffering severe bilateral lower arm pain. Diagnosed with phlebitis in right arm, now the left arm hurts also. Very painful early morning when I am waking up and for a half hour or so after. I did not have an IV in the Left arm (they did take blood from my hand there though) I did have an ultra-sound on the R arm which showed 3 clots but I did not have pain in the left arm at the time.
Drink plenty of fluids, Im very sorry that you were frightened by the movie I refuse to let this be a debate amongest members,,, Almost all women who post here who have had a hysterectomy are quite glad when its over and happy with the outcome, being pain and disease free can be a very good thing. I know your sugery is coming right up.
It does sound like it would be the best solution. I can see what the doctor means. If they leave the ovaries, at least you wouldn't experience surgical menopause, which can be a bit brutal. But you would say goodbye to your womb. How do you feel about that? It might be a good idea, for the sake of your general health. Fibroids naturally shrink after menopause, and often cause no more trouble, but with the kidney involvement, I would say it's best to have the surgery.
I am still in pain, during intercourse, as well as everyday cramping, and lower back pain. I talked to doctor and she suggested an abdominal hysterectomy. Should I do this? Will it really help?? I have tried lupron, and had two laprascopies with removal of adhesions as well as countless chocolate cysts. Was told by fertility specialist after last lap that tubes are completly blocked as well as being tangled with my bowels.
I trust her completely and very safe with her. the pain is centered on my right side, and it radiates through my hip bone and leg. A week or so before my cycle (by the way comes like every 20-22 days now) i am in so much pain, it's hard to even get up. So I am looing forward to no more pain.I hope your doctor just give you the thumbs up to have it done. Like you, I am so ready to get on with my life.
I am also majorly concerned about the pain I still have in my right diaphragm and side. I had started to put this down to pressure on my muscles, but I now understand that there is a link between ovarian cancer and diaphragm cancer. For me, I think even if this turns out to be nothing more than endometriosis of both, the worry of having anything remaining that may cause concern may be too much. I also understand the risk of hormone replacements. It's going to be a tough one.
I soak the tampon and the pad within 30 minutes, hopefully I feel the overflow beginning before I spill out onto my pad or underwear. A partial hysterectomy was advised by my doctor to allevite all of this mess. After reading some of these posts, I am fearful that I will still bleed and have problems.
I had a total hysterectomy in January of 2008 because I had endometriosis everywhere. Since that time I still feel as though I have the same pain from the endometriosis as prior to the surgery. Also I have some bleeding after sex. Is the bleeding something I should be concerned about? Can endometriosis spread to other organs in your body? I guess I'm not as educated on this as I should be. If anyone knows please contact me. Thanks for your help.
Am I a candidate for Hysterectomy? I have a very heavy 2 week period I experince sever pain during as well as for the week prior and a week following. I experance breakthrough bleeding from time to time that i call spotting but is actualy like having a normal period for a day. I am dealing with pms and period problems 4 out of 4 weeks. my older friend said i might be a candidate for this procedure. I personaly love the idea of having it removed if it will offer even some relief.
I am schedule to have a hysterectomy in a couple weeks, and my concern is will my stomach go back to normal? Will I gain weight? Should I diet during recovery. Can't afford to buy new clothing right now... Will my sex life remain exciting?
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one going through all of this. I cannot wait until I have had my hysterectomy. The pain of my endometriosis is unbearable. Had a laparoscopy and DNC about a month ago and feel worse than ever. I have no idea what my prolactin or LH and FSH levels are at the moment. So many doctors appts I feel like a pin cushion. And to top things off my hemoglobin is low. Trying to stay positive.

Ladies, Something very strange -- since my surgery will obviously also involve a hysterectomy, I went to the hyst. site to see if there were any guidelines/advice/information about life and love afterwards. One topic in which I was particularly interested was the possibility of HRT so as to conserve libido. All the posts relative to HRT after hysterectomy seem to have been removed?! Is it my computer that isn't working right?
I had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago and am suffering with incredible sacroiliac pain. It is burning and unrelenting. I take Aleve or ibuprofen for minimal relief. Has anyone experienced this? Does it ever go away?! I'm getting VERY depressed and this is hindering my recovery 100%. Would love to hear if this is normal.
i am 3 weeks post op full abdominal hysterectomy and have sharp pain just over my right side above the incision- it gets worse with more movement is this still normal?
About three weeks ago I began to experience tingling in my toes and top of my left foot followed by a burning pain on the side of my calf muscle that radiates up into my hip and causes pain in the lower left side of my abdomen. I only experience this pain when I begin to walk or when I stand in place for 15 to 20 minutes. I have discussed this with my doctor. He ordered an x-ray and an ultra sound for blood clots. Both were negative. Has anyone else had this experience?
I began having pain in my lower right side about about 3 months ago. My doctor said that I had fibroids and cysts on my ovaries. He was supposed to do a complete hysterectomy. He only removed the uterus, this was done vaginally on 1-11-06. I am still having the pain in my right side and I have told him about this pain, more that once. He keeps telling me that I need to give it time, and sometimes it takes a full 6-8 weeks to get over surgery.
I am having severe groin pain on my left side. It goes slightly up into the lower left part of abdomen also. I had a hysterectomy several years ago but the doctor left in my ovaries. I had a left hip replacement surgery 6 months ago. I believe the pain may be from the hip surgery but my doctor had told me that I shouldn't have anymore groin pain after that.
I had a partial Hysterectomy and two weeks after I've been having alot of pain on the leftside of my abdomen and my back. The pain doesn't go away even with narcotic medicines and the doctor says everything looks fine. Also when i get up and start walking the pain gets worse and worse. The only time it doesn't hurt that much is when I'm laying down. Also I feel on my left leg because the pain is so bad. Need answers please.
as for the back/side pain it is likely related to this. your pain during ovulation , if its ovulation. try to keep a record and see if its every other month cause you alternate the ovary that ovulates every other month. I have to wonder if you may have a cyst, it sounds possible I had ovarian cysts and they do make one have severe pain/vomit sometimes...
My hysterectomy 1978, salpingooopherectomy 1989. Then 8 years ago, had pain and they did explorative abdomenal surgery. A part of ovary, probably a cell or two, had been left (lots of scarring before) and had pushed out an egg and exploded (?). Then last weekend, 34 years after hyst, had excrutiating pain on left (troublesome) side and pressure like my guts would fall out. Now, dark brown discharge. Saw doc and she said come back if it does not stop now called her and am waiting to see.
