Hysterectomy and back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy and back pain

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 2 months ago due to a severe case of endometriosis. I had a lot of back pain & I thought after I had a hysterectomy that pain would go away.....it hasn't yet. I was wondering if cymbalta would be good for my back pain? My lower back hurts a lot & I didn't know if they would complicate things. I just want some answers...maybe you can help.
Avatar f tn 9 year ago I had a hysterectomy. Unfortunately during surgery the doctor knocked a hole in my bladder. My ureter swelled and kinked. Two days later I had stint put in my ureter. The stint stayed in for nine weeks. I continued to see the urologist for a year and did well. Now I am beginning to have a lot of pain in the kidney and area of the ureter. I have to urinate often, otherwise "'m in great pain. Has anyone experienced this? I'm in the process of scheduling a cat scan.
Avatar f tn Back pain after hysterectomy seems to be common. Surgical positioning can cause it. I hope it doesn't last long!
Avatar f tn i had severe diverticulitis last November, with 7 day hospital stay. Things haven't felt right since. Infection gone but after colonoscopy last week, Gi doc says he couldn't get past recto sigmoid junction, so virtual colonoscopy next week. All of my other colonoscopies have been fine . Biopsies done . All normal. I have bladder discomfort and back pain. I'm assuming I now have adhesions. Have had hysterectomy in 2007 and further prolapse surgery in 2015.
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy at the age of 36. And yes, the back pain was related to my GYN problems; no cancer. Your CA 125 marker is probably elevated due to your uterine fibroids and cyst. I doubt this is any cancer.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy in feb 2008 and i am 35 yrs old. since my surgery i have had extreme abdominal pain, back pain, leg pain, insomnia and grion pain. My doctor really can't find anything wrong with me. He now says its neuropathic pain syndrome but I'm really not sure what to believe any more. what can i do? Please help.....

I am not sure what to do...Thanks for your help. Gia :) P.S. I have briefly heard of Ovarain Remnant Syndrome could it be that?
Avatar f tn I would classify the back pain as 6-7/10 and there 100% of my day. Nothing relieves the pain. They can not guarantee the pain will resolve but feel that a hysterectomy would take care of my other problems, while possibly relieving the pain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
1086111 tn?1256514891 My doctor has me coming back November 19 and he wants to a hysterectomy Laparscopic hysterectomy but i don't know if he is going to do a complete hysterectomy or not that is why i go back to him on the November the 19 and he will let me know if he is going to do a full hysterectomy or a partial hysterectomy.

Avatar f tn she said its all 1 big mass. I was in a lot of pain for 2 months, finally got on birth control and the pain has stopped. if a hysterectomy doesnt fix endo, why should I have one? I am 39.
314833 tn?1263259499 Hello all, So I had a hysterectomy 5 months ago. I just start having pain and feeling bloated. It's the same type of pain I would have if I was on my period but worse. Is this normal or what else could it be?
Avatar n tn A week after my followup visit my female doc started me on an antibiotic that seemed to make things worst, but he said there was no collation between the pain and meds. I had back surgery in 2011 and had not totally recovered, but things were looking somewhat better before the hysterectomy. Now I feel as if my pain has taken a turn, and I'm starting all over in recovery. I am seeing a pain management doc for back pain and well as the new leg pain.
Avatar f tn I eventually settled at 1/2 caffeinated and 1/2 decaffeinated coffee and decaff sodas when I drank them. I still had some pain after my hysterectomy so I stayed on the same 1/2 and 1/2 coffee; that was in 1996 and I still drink the "half caff" today. If you drink caffeinated beverages, you might try cutting way back and see if that helps. Another thing is that it seems that those of us with fibrocystic breasts tend to have more pain than those who don't have.
Avatar m tn i had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. i am still experiencinga lot of pain like the worst menstural cramps ever and it hurts really bad to use pressure to have a bowel movement. Is this normal??
Avatar n tn I finished my carbo/taxol treatments in August, but I am still having pain under my ribs and in my back.....and it is worse when I am sitting. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Haemorrhoids may not be related to the surgery. Back pain and incontinence may be related to the sling surgery. For the incontinence you need to see an urologist. Hope this helps. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I wont be certain until I am fully recovered, because you have a bit of back pain during recovery...but it is a different pain, and I think the old back pain was due to this prolapse.........I would think if you are anemic from bleeding or your quality of life is poor they may suggest a hysterectomy...........they don't do it unless really necessary because it is major surgery. Make sure you see a specialist! I had a urogynecologist surgeon.
Avatar f tn I had an ablution Surgery 10 years ago due to heavy periods Now I’m in such pain once a month I’m basically overdosing on morphine the pain runs down my front thighs and up my back into my abdomen.. crying and rolling on the floor is what Tis has come too . I seen a gynaecologist who did the procedure 10 years ago and she is stumped WhT the pain only started now and not right after the surgery.. she was very mean very rude and dodged all my questions as to where doe it come from .
Avatar n tn If i do get a hysterectomy will all my pain and bleeding stop for good. I also have polysystic ovaries so would i need a full hysterectomy? I've also heard about a procedure where the Dr can do something to the lining of your uterus, what is that and will it help any of my problems?
Avatar m tn I've been experiencing lower left abdominal twinges the last several months. I've also had noticable lower abdomial bloating as well (it's not weight gain, I've even dropped a couple). My annual pap and pelvic in december came back with 'an infection' and anti-biotics were perscribed that I took & finished. I'm still having twinges and bloating. I don't even know if theyr'e related.
Avatar f tn These anatomical / skeletal changes cause chronic back, hip, and rib cage problems and pain. Bladder and bowel function can also be affected since they are separated and held in place by the uterus. My bowels have been "messed up" since surgery. Has your endometriosis diagnosis been confirmed with exploratory surgery and biopsy? Have you had (or considered having) the endo excised by an endometriosis specialist?
Avatar f tn Lupron has given mixed results where endometriosis is considered. In some cases it has resulted in a great relief from pain and reduction of lesions. However, in some cases it has caused serious side effects like cysts in breasts, tumors, irregular heart beats, vaginal bleeding, dizziness etc. You can only know if it is beneficial or harmful if you take it. So please discuss with your treating doctor. Take care!
