Common Questions and Answers about Post hysterectomy side pain

hysterectomy

Avatar n tn Recovery went generally well, but about 4th week I began to have sharp needle type pain, tingling, sensitivity to touch on my stomach above the incision. Also, pressure and pain on the lower right side of my stomach. I saw my dr for post op. She pretty much said she had no clue what it was. I've gone back to work now and these symtoms are painful. Any clues?
591421 tn?1219072704 Three weeks ago, I had a partial abdominal hysterectomy. The pain is EXCRUCIATING!!! The pain radiates from the left side of my abdomen to just below my belly button. I try to get out of bed, I'm doubling over in pain and I'm practically fainting from the pain whenever I stand. I've taken pain medication, however, my medicine makes me constipated. I have to take Senokot. My concerns are having to constantly take medication for bowel movement.
Avatar f tn since the pain seems to be more tubal I decided to have my falopian tubes removed in Feb 2011 if after this procedure I still have this pain I will then consider a hysterectomy.......
4144487 tn?1394479548 No one want to give me a hysterectomy but I am stage 2 almost 2.5 prolapse! They created my horrible pain with their modality of treatment... I don't know what to do anymore. Now that I am in pain the Doc seem scared or like they don't want to help. I am almost crippled, I can barely go to the store or do laundry! I cant even take care of my dog or my kids. This pain wasn't even here until I went in for treatment. Why the heck wont they just do the hysterectomy?
Avatar f tn Hi your pain is normal, it is a 6 weeks healing time for a hysterectomy,,,it will get better each and every day .It is very very important to do nOTHING no lifting, not to many stairs, no vaccuming, no bending, twisting, or carrying anything heavier than 3-5 lbs.
Avatar n tn i just posted my pain problem and I understand how you feel. My hysterectomy was only 4 weeks ago, but i have very strong pelvic pain and it is strong on my left side in hip area and into my lower back. My uterus and cervix removed, but my ovaries are still in. I have been told that my pain shouldn't be like that and doctors office said it is ok. I don't feel right and it's constant pain like you said, and only for a short time in day does it feel ok.
Avatar n tn A few days later I developed a bad rash under both my breast,I applied cortisone cream 2 to 3 times daily,2 weeks later a rash broke out on the outer side of my arms, no itching,no pain. The rash is from my shoulder down to my wrist. When I went for my 2 week check up, doctor said it could have been a reaction from the cleaning solution before surgery. It's been over 2 weeks and it's still on my arms! Just strange.

Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy the 23 October 2007 for pelvic prolapse, I had a vaginal hysterectomy and kept both ovaries and my cervix. Prior to my hyst I was experience chronic pelvic pain (since June 06), Pain on both right and left sides of my pelvic area, a 'throbbing' pain inside my vagina (was told this was due to my uterus bearing down on my cervix), extreme pain with intercourse and many other symptoms. Avatar f tn Yes, this can be a process sometimes, but there should'nt be that much pain 7 weeks post surgery. Are you taking any hormones? Have you had your 6 week checkup? Did you wait 6 weeks before having sex? You should get in to see your Dr and tell him/her what's going on.
Avatar f tn I had a laproscopic hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. From day 1 I have had a pain in my right side. The scars on the outside look great and i have not had any bleeding. When i sneeze i feel like i m dying. It is a pulling burning feeling. if i pamper the right side it seems to get better but if i pull up from a chair or out of bed a certain way at times it is like i have ripped something all over again. my doctor said to give it time. has any one else had this issue?
Avatar m tn i had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. i am still experiencinga lot of pain like the worst menstural cramps ever and it hurts really bad to use pressure to have a bowel movement. Is this normal??
Avatar f tn laparotomy That being said, other women have had pain similar to yours after hysterectomy. Although you cannot prove that it's from the surgery, it more than likely is. But your surgeon is not likely to admit that especially if he/she did not warn you of that possibility beforehand (informed consent). It's not unusual for other organs to be affected by hysterectomy because the uterus is a place holder / anchor for the bladder and bowel.
Avatar f tn m experiencing severe spasms and pain on the left side of the stomach. The pain is described as squeezing, tightening feeling that never stops. There are times the pain go away but it seems that it's there all the time. I was diagnosed in my mid20s having IBS, & the pain is the same as before.
