Avatar f tn she has arranged an urgent Gyna appt for Thursday this week but the pain is now severe, low back and pelvic area is chronic and legs are aching from the back to the tops and sides, could this all be part of a UTI, bad taste in the mouth, gone off food but no weight loss As l only have one ovary why am l seeing a gynaecologist?
Avatar f tn The UTI went away but 2 weeks later I had constant pelvic pain. I was tested for chlamydia and gonnhorea, PID, all came back negative. I had a pelvic ultrasound and an x ray which also came back negative. I now have very bad back pain along with it and bad hemmorhoids with perenial pain. It hurts after I have sex. I wa stold I could have endometriosis or IC. I don't want to have laproscopy until I am sure that is the case. I feel like I am going crazy about this.
Avatar f tn going to that area. After having (pelvic area) pain about 40 times an HOUR for over a year and a half after my surgery, my pain decreased to only about 10 times a DAY for a few seconds at a time. I did this procedure again about a week after the first session and that gave me even more relief. I think it was about four months until I had to do it again. Eventually I did not need to do this at all. My pain (and adhesions.... see notes below) eventually subsided totally.
Avatar n tn I am 50 years old, had a hysterectomy (ovaries/uterus/cervix removed) I have pelvic congestion syndrome pain for a year. I had this dibilitating pain before and after my hysterectomy. Has become much severe that I have to stay laying down all day, I cannot work any longer.
1481509 tn?1287614693 Dear chuwwy63, I have suffered groin pain for the past two years after having a hysterectomy. After seeing several doctors including a neurolgist who said they don't know. I have been doing research on the internet and found this website with the answer. I'm not sure at this point if I would take the chance of another operation but it does explain the reason for our pain. Go on the web to - www.NCBI.nlm.nih.
Avatar f tn Likewise hysterectomy is not always effective in treating chronic pelvic pain. It is likely that your uterus was not the source of your pain. I recommend you follow up with your primary care physician for further evaluation. If you still have ovaries and you had stage III- IV endometriosis you should discuss possible treatment options with your gynecologist both surgical and nonsurgical.
Avatar f tn Hi! I find often that women who have chronic pelvic pain are talked into believing that 1-2 cm cysts are causing their problems. These cysts are normal and are almost always present on every woman's ovaries. I hope this is not what your doctors are talking about too! Your problem is a difficult one--chronic pain in the pelvic area, and believe it or not, often results from some sort of major physical/psychological trauma that becomes worse and worse over time.
Avatar m tn Hi, my name is Christa. I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion about 3 years ago. I had a procedure where they cut off the blood flow to a few of my veins that were 3 times the size they should have been. I would not recommend anyone to have that done. IT DOESN'T WORK! It was a complete waste of time and money. I was so desperate I would try anything to relieve the pain. The doctor told me that my only option for full relief was to have a total hysterectomy. I had my surgery on July 15,2014.

Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy the 23 October 2007 for pelvic prolapse, I had a vaginal hysterectomy and kept both ovaries and my cervix. Prior to my hyst I was experience chronic pelvic pain (since June 06), Pain on both right and left sides of my pelvic area, a 'throbbing' pain inside my vagina (was told this was due to my uterus bearing down on my cervix), extreme pain with intercourse and many other symptoms. Currently about 90% of the pain has returned.
Avatar n tn i had a hysterectomy month ago i am having pain in left pevic area with swelling into lower hip
Avatar f tn It sounds like Post Ablation Syndrome (PAS) or Post Ablation Tubal Sterilization Syndrome (PATSS). Your chronic pelvic pain is more than likely caused by blood getting trapped behind the scarred / ablated lining or trapped because your cervix is scarred shut (by the ablation). Here are a couple of articles on this: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17630156/ https://www.hormonesmatter.
Avatar m tn Please can you tell me if Chronic pain in the lower part of the pelvic floor when defacating is normal following surgery for rectole and cystole and hysterectomy (all vaginally). It is now 3 weeks since the operation and despite eating plenty of fibre, fish oil and a Senopod each night I am only able to go every 4 days with a great deal of tummy pain which is unbearable.

Avatar n tn However disappointingly, this surgery does not help all women with pelvic pain. For them, their pain must be in the nerve roots and really the best intervention is pain mangement such as: acupuncture, biofeedback, and so on You should discuss these options with your doctor.
Avatar n tn I have been having pelvic pain for over a week and the physician said that my pain is where my uterus use to be and told me that my body thinks that I am going to have a menstrual cycle and this is causing the discomfort. Please advise.
Avatar f tn I am 52 and have had pelvic pain left side for around a year - I had a ca125, smear and pelvic ultrasound around a year ago which was negative apart from a few small fibroids ( usual for my age I am told) and some fluid in the pelvic area. My womb tilts backwards and I had novasure treatment 5 yrs ago. I have had pain in my thighs for ages and increasing pain in my lower back and left hip. I also have gastric issues such as bloating variable diarrhoea and constipation.
Avatar n tn I have suffered from chronic pelvic pain for almost 2 years. I had a surgery removing my right ovary and my uterus. The pain didn't go away. It has gotten worse now both sides hurt and my knees give out on me. My doctor sent me to a pain specialist and they said it was nerve pain and wanted to inject me with steriods right where it hurt. I am terrified of needles and so of course this isn't an option for me.
Avatar n tn Before I was diagnosed,I had chronic pelvic pain for several years..... And was told there was no appearent reason for me to be in soo much pain. I also had 2-3 pregnancies.... And I did notice that I was pain free!! I believe it has alot to do with hormone levels. Mine has also recently gotten soo much worse. What used to be pelvic pain..... Is now crippling back pain (unless on bedrest) And pain that feels quite like labor.
Avatar m tn I have also had 3 surgeries to remove adhesions--I have chronic left side pelvic pain that is only explained as adhesions. My ovary began to regrow too complete with a cyst and was removed in my last adhesion surgery in Dec. 2007. The pelvic pain began before my hysterectomy and was the main reason for the surgery. The doctor found a cyst on my left ovary and endometriosis and scar tissue from my c-sections. He removed the cyst and thought that all would be fine.
Avatar f tn A study published in 2008 showed that these problems can develop up to at least 8 years after the ablation and increase the risk for hysterectomy (to resolve the pelvic pain). I recall a woman saying that a gynecologist at a renowned east coast institution told her the procedure should not be done on women under age 50. I hope you can get resolution without having to undergo hysterectomy which has its own set of short and long-term problems.
Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy in May-kept my ovaries. I am having severe pain in lower left pelvic area.
Avatar f tn As I write this my battery for the pelvic floor pacemaker is causing pain…so I don’t know what I will do on that plan to send my Dr. and email this week...to discuss that and my upcoming botox surgery…my how I would much rather be putting it in my face rather than my pelvic floor! ;) October 17, 2015 (UPDATE) So I finally had my botox surgery! The dr. put 200 units in all of my pelvic floor muscles and my pain has dropped significantly and my PFD is much better! I will see the Dr.
Avatar f tn Finally over a year and a half later I am scheduled for a complete hysterectomy with my gynecologist at the end of this month. Reason listed chronic pelvic pain. Symptoms are so bad. Six months ago I had normal blood pressure very healthy my whole life. Now my blood pressure averages 160 over 100. I am afraid of the surgery. I don't trust all of the doctors. At my last physical examination my doctor palpated my abdomen and did a pelvic.
Avatar n tn That can be caused by many things including ovarian cyst, endometriosis. It is best when having pain in that area to contact your GYN and make an appt. with them.
Avatar f tn In 2000 I had a radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer, in 2004 I had a mesh repair for pelvic collapse which was suppose to correct my chronic constipation. It did not work then in 2006 I had a partial colectomy which worked for the chronic constipation. But with in the last year I have been experiencing frequent violent vomiting and abdominal pain. In the last month its increase to once a week to now every other day. I have no insurance and need to know what I should do.
