503418 tn?1231098736 This can also be ovarian cysts.
Avatar n tn I am 50 years old, still menstruating, although in the last year or so cycle has shortened from 28 to 21 days. Last month, bleeding became very heavy and did not stop after 12 days. Went to gyn who did manual exam and ultrasound; found a a 3cm cyst that he called a "functional cyst". I am worrying myself about the possibility of ovarian cancer due to my age, having taken Clomid 17 yrs ago for 11 cycles, plus I am also having heartburn symptoms.
600910 tn?1219728369 Hi! Just a little info about me. I'm 25, and a mother of two. I always been really healthy, never had any medical problems. Until last year, I woke up from sleeping with the worst abdominal pain that I could have ever imagined. I would shake and have chills, and sometimes almost faint. I get these episodes sometimed once a week or once a month. They can last 30 minutes up to 10 hours. They come within second and I never know when they will come.
Avatar n tn Keep going to Dr's until you find answers........... I knew something was wrong but the Dr kept sending me to GI docs saying I had IBS. I never felt right and then I finally got answers. I had severe Endo and ovarian cysts. Endo can cause most all of your symptoms. I don't have any experience w/hair loss. I hope you feel better, I understand how frustrating it is!
Avatar f tn If the pelvic ultrasound was not transvaginal you might want to request one to see if you have ovarian cysts. They can cause the symptoms you are experiencing. I was diagnosed with IBS for 18 months but it turned out my problems were being caused by cysts on my ovary. Once the cysts were removed and I had recovered from my surgeries the symptoms went away. Good luck.
579959 tn?1218310678 Yes, your cyst definitely causes those symptoms. Remember that over 95% of all cysts are benign. There is some good information on cysts on the health pages attached to this page (top right). It is possible that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum but that is a good thing as all of us there have had a lot of experience with cysts whereas not everyone with Ovarian Cancer has.
Avatar n tn For the past 2 years I have had digestive problems- the usual heartburn, diarrhea, abdominal pains, bloating, gas. I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux Disease after visiting my gastroenterologist and having an endoscopy done. Two years later, the problems have persisted and gotten worse, this time with pain in my upper right side and upper back area(gallbladder area). I was diagnosed with having gallstones and had my gallbladder removed a week ago.
Avatar m tn hi- I have done some research on pcos and ovarian cyst and how they can mimic regnancy symptoms like headaches, bloating, sore/swollen breasts, cramps, back ache...that's what i found via google lol but only those symptoms.. what about discharge (yeallow/creamy white), veins prominent on stomach and chest (i know i'm not making this one up cos i wasn't looking for it..i just took my top off one day and i went holy ****! i'm a road map!
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts may produce pregnancy-like symptoms. Usually an ultrasound can pick it up, and if not, a CT scan should. Most cysts are benign, so not to be too worried about it. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can cause bladder and bowel problems. In my case it was due to the size of the ovarian cyst and the pressure it was placing on other organs. In my daughter's case, the abdominal pain with the ovarian cyst was severe and caused nausea. By the time we discovered that an ovarian cyst was causing the pain, she had become constipated, which added to her irregularity and discomfort. Like MarieMichele, before my ovarian cyst was removed, I had to eat very small amounts.
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Abnormal bleeding can be due to various other reasons like endometrial hyperplasia, ovarian cysts, hormonal imbalance, PCOS etc. Check up with a gynaecologist and an ultrasound scan will help make matters clear. Take care and good luck.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar f tn I've had all the symptoms of ovarian cancer. End of April I had blood in my urine followed my back pain, flank pain, frequent urination & pelvic pain. No UTI. I eventually became so distended that I could not eat. My period was ten days late. I felt my pelvic floor shift down and family heaviness down there. When my cycle did start it was extremely painful. My normal is always on time and no pain. I had an ultrasound done four days later and ovaries and kidneys are normal.
Avatar f tn It is going to take a doctor to sort out your symptoms. Ovarian Cancer is very rare in a woman your age. It is easy to go to the worst case scenario but it does you no good. Sorry I have nothing else to offer medically.
Avatar n tn Yeah, I'd agree to take a blood test to make sure. There could be so many things other than pregnancy to cause symptoms like that. Stress, annovulatory cycles, ovarian cysts, pre-menopause, etc. Believe me, I'm 39 also but I'm TTC and I've had several cycles where I felt nauseous, had heartburn, hair loss, tingly boobs, food aversions and a nose like a bloodhound all in one cycle but was never pregnant. So just get the blood test to ease your mind.
Avatar f tn I think my cysts are back. I had posted back in June about possibly having cysts. Well I did I had one on each side. Over the summer I had at least 3 vaginal scan's and the last one showed that they were all gone. So now I'm having pain on both sides, very sore and tender breasts, very tired, and nausa. I had my cycle on Nov 7th and it lasted 5 day's and about 1 week after my cycle I started will all these symptoms. So I guess my question is does it sound like they are back?
Avatar n tn I had a CT with contrast and the doctor asked me if I ever had ovarian cysts, I said no. He was not candid with me about the results and I didn't get to view them. I had a trans-vaginal ultrasound and the tech was very quiet. She did not tell me anything but the doctor discharged me with a burst ovarian cyst, but he said I had free fluid in my abdomen and around my right ovary. I had IV protonix and zophran and a GI cocktail (which helped the pain).
Avatar f tn Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 8 months now, I have been off of bcp's for a year. Now, I have a history of irregular periods and ovarian cysts. This month, however, I missed my period completely, my breasts are sore (my nipples usually are sore before my cycle), I've had heartburn, and I've been waking to pee two to three times a night, and I never wake during the night. Does anyone have any wisdom or experience with these symptoms?
Avatar f tn My family has a history of breast, stomach, and liver cancers. My mother has dealt with ovarian cysts. I decided to finally contact my doctor. Explaining the intensity of my symptoms and how sudden they became intense, I was surprised when my PCP told me pretty much to hurry up and wait, as "something is going around." My gyn was not able to fit me in until Oct 13 (due to my work schedule) and their over-booked schedule. They are sending me an ultrasound before my appt.
Avatar m tn I have diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, (unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite, blood tests), acid reflux(heartburn, throwing up), Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome(Lack of periods, ovarian cysts, my hormones were off, among other things), I've been to the doctor for back and neck problems. I have terrible spasms in my neck and have back pain almost daily. Sometimes, usually at night(after 6pm) my fingers start to tingle. It then spreads to my arms and my face.
755648 tn?1234324966 she has a couple of early pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue, increased appetite, heartburn coming out of the blue, and she missed her period. What worries me though is my sister has had several health issues. She's prone to kidney stones and has had bad ovarian cysts to the point that he doctors had been discussing giving her a hysterectomy when she was only 15/16 years old (they ended up being able to avoid it by putting her on birth control for a while).
