Avatar f tn bradycardia means that you have a slow heart rate ... I know what you are going through i am also 17 and i had my monitor a couple of times and somtimes the doc's don't say a word and you have to find out !! So i recomend you to see a doctor who will explain it to you so you don't get over worried and get what ever heart condition you have to be worse ..... best of luck ...
Avatar n tn Also, I was on an exercise bicycle last week and it monitored my heart rate----it went from 50bpm to 102 bpm very fast, but lately my heart rate has been going up and down like a yo yo for no reason. The dr. in the hospital said the rapid heart beat could be coming from the aortic valve since it has to work harder. Is this true? Could there be some underlying heart condition that is not manifesting itself?
Avatar m tn how high should your heart rate go during a tread mill stress test if you weigh 237lbs and your 67 years old male non smoker
Avatar f tn Is it normal that my baby's heart rate went from 150 to 130. I heard as the baby gets bigger the heart rate goes down. Has anyone else heard this?
Avatar f tn Yes, the symptoms can be related to a heart disorder. There is palpitations (irregular heart rate) that indicates a rhythm disturbance, but often not serious, however, with the other symptoms you experience, your concerns should be evaluated by a doctor. Are taking any medication, alcohol, smoke, drugs, etc.? Any health issues? High blood pressure would not cause your symptoms.
Avatar m tn If I'm correct you target heart rate would be 136 BPM. I'm not saying to go out and hit that right away, work up to it and make sure you Dr knows that you are working out a bit. http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/GettingHealthy/PhysicalActivity/FitnessBasics/Target-Heart-Rates_UCM_434341_Article.
Avatar n tn For the past 3 1/2 years my wife has been suffering with frequent bowel movements w/stomach pains, fast heart rate and sweating. Everytime she eats or drinks anything 10-15 min later sometimes 25-30 min later she has a bowel movement and stays on the toilet for about an hour all the time. Her stool is usually very loose and the other day she had some white jelly or mucus like substance come out.During this time she has seen about 3 GI doctors and 2 bariatric doctors.
3060668 tn?1340675902 Hello everyone I'm a 27 year old male and here is my story, I've been dealing with some major issues for a while now. Over the past couple of years I have been diagnosed with gerd and have to take daily medication for it. At the time, I was also experiencing bad lightheaded and dizziness episodes so went to a cardiologist. About a year ago I was given a 24 hour holter monitor and a stress echo, both which came back negative for any serious issues.
Avatar m tn The readings that you have noted seem like false readings because while using the treadmill, it is normal to find the heart rate increasing. If it happens again at rest then bradycardia (slow heart rate) needs to be ruled out for which you should get a holter monitor done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn As for having a doctor taking you seriously I would firmly stress that your family has a history of heart disease and you want a full workup. An ekg and stress echo are two fairly easy tests that can determine the overall health of your heart. If this cardiologist refuses then find another.
Avatar m tn does metoprolol regulate your heart rate, preventing an increased heart pace when having a pacemaker?
Avatar f tn I am a young active woman, but my average resting heart rate is 33 bpm. Is this too low?
Avatar m tn Hello, thanks for the question. We commend you for tracking your heart health. Sometimes apple watches aren't as accurate as we like but they do give an idea. You are probably aware that night time and in particular 10 to 2 is the period of greatest variability. A general rule is that your night time HRV should be 20 to 30 percent lower than your day time resting heart rate. 40 to 50 beats per minute is a common HRV at night.
159619 tn?1707018272 The target heart rate for aerobic conditioning, cardiac tone is 80-85% of maximal heart rate as you described. Your max heart rate was probably calculated by subtracting your age from 220. I think as long as you have a clean bill of cardiac health and tolerate this exertion well, it seems reasonable. There is no good recommended time line to evaluate cardiac health especially in some one who had two consecutive normal profiles.
Avatar n tn What is considered a average resting heart rate? How do you lower a heart rate without taking prescription meds?
Avatar n tn Yes i'm on Concerta, which is for the ADHD i have, and it's a stimulant. I take 72 mg. of it. I don;t know whether it's that that's messing with my heart rate, or something else, but it'll take long to recover after exercise, it'll start racing sometimes when i'm sitting and a lot when i'm standing. Last night, i was leaning against the counter and i felt nauseous all of a sudden, short of breath, dizzy, and my heart was beating funny.
Avatar m tn My 15 year old son frequently has a fast heart rate even when he is resting. Last night he has been sitting resting for an hour and his heart rate was still 110. What would be the cause of this fast heart rate? He is active and in sports year round.
Avatar m tn I'm on Losartan/Hctz combination for hypertension. I'm 22yrs old normal weight, don't smoke or drink, eat good and I stay hydrated. I woke up this morning took my medicine, and about an hour later I stood up from sitting my heart rate wentfrom 75 to 97 maybe even higher at times....I don't do this every morning but sometimes it will happens. Is this my meds? Being as it only happens sometimes?

Avatar n tn One night when I was about to sleep, I checked my heart rate and it was 62. I heard normal heart rate should be between 60 - 100. Mine seems to be slipping down. This gave me a small panic attack and my anxiety is back. I heard that slow heart rates can cause sudden death. I am afraid for my health. I cannot stop on Carbimazole and the little Propranolol that I take. Should I approach a specialist or do you thing that this condition is benign?

Avatar f tn I think in your case it would be really important to know if your issue is a low ejection fraction or slow heart rate and what the health risk difference is in your case. Ask your doctor where your health stands and what risks you are under so you are fully prepared and aware of what is going on with you and what steps you need to take to ensure the best long term health for your heart.
