Avatar n tn I frst experienced Upper back pain from may 08 - mid septemberr 08. I am not 100 % why I had the pain. I saw every doctor imagineable (orthopedist, rheumatologist, acupuncturist, physiatrist, myofascial trigger point therapist, massage therapists) Not much helped but it went away towards the end of september) My only symptoms were upper back pain. The muscles were very tight and knotted.I was not fatigued and sleeping was not an issue.

I have had throughout my entire life a bizarre amount of muscle problems and pain. In recent times (last 5-6 months) I have had occasions where my body and skin hurts so much that even my shirt is hurting it. This isn't an everyday, or even every week, event but it has happened probably 5 or 6 time.

Fibromyalgia is a condition in which the person has long term body pain. The goal of treatment in this condition is to improve sleep and pain tolerance. Medicines should always be used along with exercise and behavior therapy. Medications like Duloxetione, pregabalin and Milnacipram have been approved for treating fibromyalgia.

Avatar n tn she said fibromyalgia was the cause just a few days before she went in as her symptoms are like that.. she gets numb in the legs but not like its gone to sleep.. but now she can not walk.. todays prelim symptoms hyper thyroid treatments and hormonal treatments. but she stilll cant walk.. saying its long term rehab.. but sounds like they are punting.. symptoms. shaky limbs cant walk, muscles feel like she ran a marathon she says. eye sight deteriorating... help..

Avatar m tn Hi I am pretty for sure I have Fibromyalgia some of my symptoms include Soar and stiff muscles in my legs and I just have a Flu like feeling all the time and also the pressure points you have. I have those also. Does this sound like Fibromyalgia to you.
Avatar f tn It is hereditiary- your mother, aunts,grandmothers may have it ( they may never have been officially diagnosed but will likely have many of the same symptoms you do) Men can also get this but not as commonly- I currently work with 2 men who also have it. 3.It is usually brought on by a stressful event in your life. Don't let the term stressful fool you.

Avatar f tn ve always had symptoms of fibromyalgia but never real bad but after I got that Sinus Infection my symptoms of FM became Severe. I also have a family history of Fibromyalgia, my Father, Aunt, and first cousin has it. My symptoms are so severe that my doctor had to put me off of school ,and on to homebound, where a teacher comes out to my house and brings me work twice a week.
Avatar f tn Finally ! I am so happy to see that the Mayo Clinic and American College of Rheumatology lists complementary medicine as other therapies that may benefit fibromyalgia. I know "alternative" medicine (AKA: pre-western medicine) has been a blessing for me. I work not only with my specialist, but also with an alternative medicine practitioner as well and thank God for both of these compassionate, educated men.
Monster The descriptions of fibromyalgia symptoms read to me like a newspaper horoscope: the number of symptoms described can apply to just about any ambulatory human being. The typical medications indicated seem to antidepressants and pain relievers. Please give us the Clif's Notes version of fibromyalgia and if diagnosed, what are the treatments.

Your doctor can identify if you have problems in enough of these areas to warrant a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, especially since you've already had the CT's, etc. Google the words "Fibromyalgia and tender points" and you should find a few web sites that talk about this in more detail. Avatar f tn hi everyone, i have fibromyalgia,, my niece has lupus and my brother has cfs, i do think that there must be a genetic link somewhere in there , {either that or we a unlucky lot} but with fibro it does make you feel, chronicly fatiguied,i also know about the whttemore institute and belive they are doing a great job! kenderyl with/for a positve diagnosis for lupus you have to have a antinuclear body show possitve in your blood ,but in saying that lupus is a family member of fibromyalgia..
Avatar f tn A cervical spine problems causes symptoms from the level of the problem down. The symptoms don't travel up so if you have tingling in your face and on your head it is something else. A spine issue can cause headaches though as the muscles can spasm in the neck and cause a headache. You may want to get tested for Lyme disease. It can cause most of your symptoms.
