Back in 2007 I went to a dermatoloigst due to my finger being swollen and red from a break in my eczema and they swabbed my nose. It came back as MRSA, but I am a nurse so they assumed that all of us in the heatlhcare world have been exposed. I did recieve doxycycline and a antibiotic that I put in my nose. So just wondering if I have taken that medication before should I get something different or possibly the same thing??

I was diagnosed with HS about two years ago. It started as a few small pimples on my thighs and then under my armpits that eventually turned into nasty, inflamed, infected boils. This went on and off for a few months. My dermatologist injected corisone directly into the boils/bumps and put me on doxycycline, then oracea for about six months total.
I worked in a nursing home doing housekeeping... Just quit working there a month ago because of this... I have had mrsa for a while now been on antibiotics for 2 months now doxycicline.
I'm a 58 y/o female who had a left total knee replacement 15 months ago with a subsequent MRSA sepsis. I underwent a second surgery where the left knee was debrided and the plastic part of the joint replacement was changed. I was treated with 8 weeks of IV Vanco and oral Rifampin. Now I have continual pain in my left buttock with "sores" only on the left side only. I continue with pain in the left buttock muscle, as well as most of my other joints.
He just went to a new doctor, and this one gave him Doxycycline and Prednisone. (Antibiotic and Steroids.) Since steroids suppress immune system functions, I think that's completely backwards. They were prescribed for the MRSA. Have you ever heard of sterioids prescribed to help with MRSA treatment?
Also, could you suggest some preventative MRSA treatments for me to look into so I may suggest one to our primary? Thanks.
This did nothing so I went back to the doctor and she took a sample of the fluid, it was positive for MRSA. She prescribed Bactrum which helped a lot and I was hopeful it was over. I finished the bactrum a week ago and yesterday the infection was back with vengeance. I swear it hurts more then labor. I went back to the doctor today and he couldn't believe how infected it is considering I just had a 14 day found if Bactrum a week ago, "impressive" is the word he used.
t hardly sleep or eat my HIV, hep-c is pending and am still taking acyclovir for possible herp as well as doxycycline for the MRSA on my junk, the acyclovir must not be working 4 days into it and get another small white head. I don't know what
to think but I feel like I have HIV because of the MRSA , my left leg had begun to cramp up in the morning and have a nagging feeling like I worked it out but I don't move around that much during the day.

I don't have a infection the doctors said today. I am on daily doxycycline because of mrsa from spin surgery. However that's under control. I just don't understand why my ears are swollen shut.
I was treated twice with Doxycycline (2 mos.) for the Lymes but the treatment did not work and the doctors suspected that I may not have Lupus but had Lymes the entire time. In July 2009, a year later, I was tested and the IGM Lymes test was again positive. The neurologist confirmed I have Lymes Disease but told me that it should have showed up on the IGG test and not the IGM test because of the length of time I have had Lymes. Now I have numerous questions.

As for Azithromycine, I asked the first doctor about that when I discovered I had mycoplasma and he said they prescribe Doxycycline because in China it's relatively easy to get your hands on Azithromycine and as a result, mycoplasma strains have become more resistant to it, so at this point Doxycycline would be more effective.

- urethral fluid shows inflammation
- cultured few times which showed some random bacteria (first time enterococcus faecalis, second time staphylococcus mrsa) with minor growth. I assume it needs confirmation before taking any treatment.
He has 2 boys from his previous marriage. The youngest has a lot of skin issues and has contracted MRSA. Since meeting my husband, we have all had bouts with boils caused by MRSA. We've tried just about everything.. and we really just deal with them now. Get on antibiotics, put the mupirocin in the nose, etc. I had a couple boils over a year ago.. then didn't have anymore for probably 10 months.. then here in the past 3 months..
I have had surgeries yearly since 2004. I had complications with my bariatric surgery and ended up with MRSA. I have had my gall bladder removed, abdominalplasty, and a c section. I am scheduled for a inner thigh lift next week. I haven't given it much thought about the dangers and my history of MRSA until co workers starting vocalizing their concern about my healthy and quite frankly dying. My surgeon is well aware of my history of MRSA and complications of surgeries.
I have MRSA (found through colonization of urine due to UTI). I have had chronic UTI's for years now and my dr just treats them with antibiotics everytime and does an ultrasound to make sure nothing serious going on in there like cancer or kidney disease. I do not have a skin infection....I am experiencing UTI symptoms, fatigue, my whole body is very sore and achy especially my neck and shoulders and lower back. Have been through 2 weeks of Bactrim DS and three days after I finished meds..
I worked as an attendant, for people confined to wheel-chairs, and many of them had bed sores, or and MRSA. I wore gloves, and washed and washed myhands after work, but I did finally end up getting a rly painful sore right inside my nostril, that didn't reapond to amoxicillin, or prescription antibiotic cream, I had to take a high-powered antibiotic, and after that, I did change jobs. My advice would be careful to never pick your nose, because staph lives on finger-tips.
I have been diagnosed with MRSA and been treated three times rounds of Bactrim. I currently have an outbreak of the MRSA sores I need to pick up another round of Bactrim and now on the inside of my two index fingers the skin is peeling like a blister was there and then popped. The raw skin beneath hurts like a blister was there, however, there were no blisters on my fingers. Is this related to the MRSA?
m afraid I agree with the Doctors on this. MRSA is a bacteria which lives mainly on the skin and in the nose in around 30% of the UK population alone. It is normally harmless because it can't get through the skin unless you cut yourself and even then your immune system would have to be weak to not fight it off. So, out of hospital, people are less likely to be affected than those patients in hospital with open wounds and weakened immune systems. MRSA would make them very ill indeed.
doctors are trying to diagnose and treat the symptoms of lupus, with a positive ANA test, swelling that only response to high doses of steriods and those cause horrible side effects. I hurt all over all the time, sometimes so bad I can only get relief when I'm asleep. have fine tremors and memory issues, my entire body is swollen, I'm taking so many medications to lower this overactive immune system that now the doctors warn me about being around sick people.
Eight days ago I woke up with an abscess on my leg in the groin area, opposite of my testicles. My wife and I promptly went to the doctor and it turned out to be a mrsa infection. The sore was drained of puss and I have been antibiotics taking them on time and will continue to take them on time until they are gone.
My question is: what should we do so that we can continue to have sex without transferring the bacteria to my wife?
