Avatar m tn Has anyone used natural therapies for allergies with success? I found this: http://***.*****.com/allergies/all-modality/allergies/miscellaneous/which-alternative-therapies-are-used-in-the-treatment-of-allergies-and-how-effective-are-they.html which seems like a great resource. I've tried QBC (quercitin, bromelein, Vitamin C) mixes and had some luck with those, but only if I remember to take them all the time.
Avatar f tn If you are someone who can carefully follow directions, buy a book that tells you how to make your own kidney diet dog foo. It is doable; my dog has chronic kidney disease, diagnosed almost 2 years ago and is doing better on home made food, which he loves & energetically eats. But it is very important that you add in the correct supplements that the author vet tells you, in addition to the food. I follow the recipe from the book Dr.
Avatar f tn s the worst in my eyelashes, conjunctiva and scalp. So I just started a candida diet and natural home remedies for an organic candida cleanse. At first my symptoms got worse the first day, and I noticed candida in my stool and urine. Now My eyes feel better than they have in a year. I am doing to ask my doctor and vet about this but I want to be prepared. It's taken an emotional toll on me and I feel very alone, and as though many don't believe me. Anyone have any input? Thank you.
11803947 tn?1430842645 I have really severe allergies and benadryl is not doing it for me. Today I woke up with a bloody nose. My eyes are so itchy and watery. My throat hurts a lot and etc ... I dont like taking anything while pregnant but I can't handle this anymore. Any natural remedies ?
Avatar f tn Anyone feel like pregnancy has made their springtime allergies a million times worse? I can barely breathe, have no voice, and if I lay down my nose stops up. I broke down and took a claritan earlier(I haven't even taken an aspirin the whole time I've been pregnant and I'll be 33 wks on Fri) and it didn't really even help. Have any of you tried any natural remedies for allergies that have actually worked?
Avatar f tn Most allergy medications are in a class that is not safe or the safety is unknown. I would use more natural remedies such as a Eucalyptus rub (Vicks Vapor Rub), steam, tea, etc. to be on the safe side.
Avatar f tn I am looking for natural arthritis remedies for a 10 year old chihuahua. I read somewhere that blackstrap molasses works wonders for arthritis pain in dogs. I also heard of extra virgin coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. I am really tempted to mix all these and give it a try. Has anyone tried these? or are there any other natural remedies? My dog has been on metacam but it doesn't work very well, I can tell she is still in pain.
2078979 tn?1332206668 Okay so my allergies got worst andi need natural remedies since I'm 13 weeks :( i feel awful and to top it off they cut my hours at work......any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Some dogs can become 'immune' to the remedies we give them. Perhaps that is what is happening with your dog. I feel sorry for her, too, as it must be awful to feel like that. You say you have shampoos that help. Ask your vet how often you can bathe her with these. Also ask about possible immunity to remedies.
Avatar m tn t make it good for us. I am hesitant to even name any natural remedies, I think it would be best to talk with a naturopath. I went manic on certain amino acids, blacked out on a mix of psych meds and herbs, so I am not just sharing what I read in a book. Natural remedies deserve the same respect as pharm meds, as products that work as well as can be dangerous.
Avatar m tn Sometimes it brings up phlegm; other times not. We know she has allergies to ragweed, grass, weeds, flaxseed. Her food contains nothing that she's allergic to. I understand that her allergies may act up in the summer, but her coughing is year-round (we live where we have winter from Nov.-Mar. so the grasses are dead part of the year). They have diagnosed her with pneumonia and found a shady spot on her lung (our vet thinks this may be scar tissue from a previous bout of pneumonia).
Avatar n tn I love my vet but she is not very experienced with natural remedies. I need a combo vet in western medicine and also natural remedies to help me with this poor boy.
Avatar n tn //www.****.com/apple-cider-vinegar-for-dogs.html since you didnt describe the sores or if they are itchy or not..i can only assume it is allergy related. most of the itme it is from foods. wheat, corn, soy & yeasts can all cause allergies. also sometimes dogs are allergic to chicken..evven beef. my dog is allergic to duck. so i would elliminate all the above ingredients and just have limited ones. give probiotics and digestive enzymes as well as a high quality fish oil from a good source.
Avatar n tn What kind of food do you feed her? Have you asked the vet on the "ask a vet" forum? One of my dogs has a very sensitive GI tract and the only food that we can give her is California Natural or Diamond brand dog food. There isn't a lot of stuff in it-it's pretty easy on her tummy. She can't even have a small piece of meat and barely any cookies or she will get loose stools. But she is also 6 yrs old and it seems like the older they get, the less their tummies can handle.
Avatar n tn s disease is usually not a disease treated successfully with just herbal remedies, including Supraglan. Generally, herbal remedies for Cushing's disease are most beneficial as adjuncts to traditional remedies. Supraglan is fine as an adjunct to traditional therapy and ideally may even help reduce the amount of traditional medication that your dog requires, but there are no guarantees.
Avatar m tn Hi. Most dog allergies are from food. I would certainly concentrate on that first, before looking at other possibilities. Whatever you have been feeding for the last year may be significant. If it's a canned food, check the ingredients, make a list of them and start finding alternative pet foods (without one or more of the ingredients you've listed).
Avatar f tn Conventional drugs do not and cannot cure anything – all they do is supress symptoms and force them deeper into the body, causing even more damage. Support and promote your pet’s health with natural remedies. Here’s a link to the best recipe for a beautiful coat. http://www.thewholepetdiet.com/2011/09/12/andis-recipe-for-a-beautiful-coat-for-dogs-or-cats/ If your pet has allergies, itching, shedding, hot-spots, etc. you should really read this article.
Avatar f tn Hi All, I am 5 weeks pregnant! and I am having lots of allergies. I sneeze a lot and I am congested all the time. Are there any home remedies for the same? Is this going to affect the baby? Anyone else have these problems?
Avatar f tn Good Morning All- I am looking for natural flea and tick remedies. After a lot of research, I am afraid of the treatments I have been getting from our vet through the years. They work, but my fear is the toxins that come with them. Does anyone out there have any suggestions for natural remedies that really work. Thanks and have a great day.
Avatar f tn My dog had her blood work tested for allergies and is currently having shots now for almost a year. Her stomach is breaking out so bad now and her skin on her stomach has got so thin from all the Cortizone sprays, injections etc.. Our vet has takin her off all Cortizone do to skin thinning out. Do you know of any other product we can use instead of Cortizone. "Jersey" our dog is always licking and not resting much because of this.
Avatar f tn Look up natural remedies. There is a honey, cumin, cayenne pepper mix that is really helpful. I found them in a google search. Just make sure your honey is pasteurized.
Avatar f tn Vitamin C with Quercitin and bromelain are great natural antihistamines, I prefer liquid natural treatments. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I am having the same issue. I am not so sure just yet if the allergies are causing me to have more anxiety or if the anxiety and stress makes my allergies worse! The head pressure is what leads me to nearly panic mode. I keep thinking this can not just be allergies! Have you been tested with an allergist? My allergist assures me that allergies can cause all these symptoms but when the allergy medication seems to not work that is what really gets you.
