Has anyone experienced any bad side Effects from the hcg shots? I am administering them myself and just want to know what to look out for.
days when I can barely function and have also experienced symptoms of hypoglycemia and panic attacks and or crying jags for no reason. I have been reading a lot about the Depo side Effects some woMen have had and they mirror mine. I've had a thyroid test and it was fine, so I don't think that I'm diabetic. I have been trying to eat well and clense with milk thistle to try to hasten the exit of the Depo.
Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side Effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?
I had two chocolate cysts that were around 6 cm x 6 cm x 6 cm, the size of a tennis ball. My gynecologist wants me to take Depo Provera until I am in Menopause. I am only 41. I refuse to take it afraid of all the side Effects. I agree we are almost made to feel like we HAVE to take it. My surgeon was very forceful about me having to take it. She does not know I never filled the prescription. Not even willing to take Alesse the birth control pill. I am just waiting and seeing.
As long as you are on Depo, there is no amount of exercise, pill, weight loss shots, and caloric restriction that will help lose weight. Really. The hormones from the Depo put you in a permanent false state of pregnancy. This means you will hold water, fat, etc because your body has been given a hormone that kicks in to cause a primitive instinct to help the fetus survive, even though there is no fetus! It also changes your body chemistry.
Acne, anaphylaxis (life-threatening allergic reaction), blood clot in a vein, lungs, or brain, breakthrough bleeding (between Menstrual periods), breast tenderness or sudden or excessive flow of milk, cervical erosion or changes in secretions, depression, excessive growth of hair, fever, fluid retention, hair loss, headache, hives, insomnia, itching, lack of Menstruation, Menstrual flow changes, spotting, nausea, rash, skin discoloration, sleepiness, weight gain or loss, yellowed eyes and skin
My doctor thought it was enviorMental (exercise, stress...etc) as I just started to go do body pump right around that time. Every cycle before that was 30-31 days to the day!! So we will see.....
(not this one) Okay, now, my concern is the effcts after STOPPING yasmin. I understand that all bc pills are different and so are we woMen as far as side Effects go. I have read postings about woMen who stopped taking yasmin and have experienced the following: - anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations and fluttering - depression - excessive weight gain - hair loss *I already have a prob. with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, so I am currently on medication.
My last shot was in the middle of October 2010 and I still haven't had a period or even spotting... should I be concerned? My doctor didn't tell me all the side Effects and risks when she put me on it and I have learned since that teens are recomMended not to take it...what should I do?
I just got the Depo shot about 4 weeks ago and my breasts will not stop hurting i get pelvic pains, and have to pee alot too they say that some of the Depo shot side Effects are similiar to being pregnant i dont like what the shot is doing to me can somone tell me if this is normal or could i be pregnant on Depo
I've been crying myself to sleep for the past 3 weeks now. This idea of giving endo patients Depo Lupron is a mistake. Who in their right mind would think it's normal to put a 23 year old in Menopause?! So now I have to go through Menopause not once but twice? Why is it that a doctor can give you 2 options to "cure" the endo... have a baby or get a hysterectomy?! Especially when you've been told that you will not have children. Endo is a slow emotional killer.
The mini-pill is progesterone based like Depo-Provera. In fact it is the same thing, only in a daily pill form instead of the longer acting shot.
Back before my son when I got Depo Provera shots I didn't get periods on that either. Most hormonal methods make periods shorter and lighter or eliminate them completely.
Has any1 watched that movie called Children Of Men? It's how in the future no1 has been able to have kids for 18 yrs!! Every1 is infertile EVERY1!! And i hate to say it but my DH could be right all the chemicals they are putting in B/C is really bad and something like this could just possibly happen one day!! Ok thats my input and gripe!! Feel free to read the article and post comMents!! But PLEASE let's be MedHelp friendly no being rude or yelling or insulting!! We are just opinionating here!
I have been on Depo for three years now and have not experienced any side Effects, not even weight gain, except this bleeding with orgasm. However, it comes and goes. Sometimes I bleed when I orgasm. Sometimes I don't. At first I figured, well my lining must be shedding and the contractions make the blood come out, but with all this talk of hysterectomies and endometriosis, I am kind of scared.
When I was your age I was on Depo-Provera. I had already gotten pg twice (lost both) through condoms and knew my limitations when it came to remembering pills. Depo had only been available in the US for a short while and it seemed perfect for me. It ended up being a wonderful form of BC for me. I didn't develop any of the "bad" side Effects, I kept my sex drive, didn't gain weight, didn't have a period for 3.5 years, it was a perfect fit for me.
i just started taking fertilaid the other day actually cause i just got off Depo and had alot of side Effects with it and trying to balance my hormones out, but anyways my sister in law is 10 weeks pregnant, they have been trying for a looong time, she did use fertilaid because her periods were comming at all different times or not at all, soon as she started taking it the next month and from then on she was regular and helped her get pregnant cause she could actually figure out when she was ovu
I was on Depo Provera for about 10 years and then switched to birth control bills. During this time, I never had a problem with excess vaginal wetness and enjoyed a high sex drive and satisfying sex life. I recently went off all birth control, planning to get pregnant. Now, I have been experiencing excess vaginal wetness and it negatively Effects my sex life with my husband. Of course, I can't find a lot of information about the topic or any medications/solutions to address the issue.
i have a 10 yr old , after i had him i went on the Depo shot for 3 months and had to stop it because it made me so sick but it also took usalmost 6 months to concieve our son, so no 10 years later no other children and not from lack of trying...
Not only did they not work but they caused the worst side Effects and I am not allergic to anything. I have been controlling my diet for some time now watching my carb intake and was on glucophage for a while with no results. I have irregular periods sometimes a year on and a year off and extremely they are usually heavy and painful. I have hirsutism"abnormal, male like hair growth" which is so embarrasing and of course fertility issues.
I have not been able to get it up to a high enough dosage to really help yet cause of side Effects. I have PCOS (was diagnosed several years ago) and have been off of the pill for years, but really started "trying" in February. I am not patient enough to wait for the Met to work I don't think, but if it is going to work for you, you won't really know until you have been on it for 3-6 months from everything I have read about it. It can take that long to get your cycles regular.
My doctor told me that I can take it for 6 rounds. What exactly is IUI? Is that insemination? I am sorry about your side Effects. I had major headaches and I was very moody! I hope this month is better for us all! Lots of baby dust to you and I will def keep everyone posted!!
Interestingly, there are many many docuMented side-Effects of Depo-Provera (just take a look at their web-site for possible complcations), yet it is approved by the FDA. As I said, the presence of HCG in the human body is used as an INDICATOR for pregnancy. HCG has been found in EVERY human tissue, also in males and non pregnant females. 2. The FDA "says so": The FDA also gives speed to our kids in the form of Ritalin.
(09/21), There is NO change in him whatsoever, sex drive or other side Effects. Are testosterone shots supposed to work immediately? Are there Men who get these shots and it just doesn't work? Maybe he's not getting enough of a dose? Or as often as he needs? Or am I simply stuck with begging my husband for sex & just being shot down forever? His Dr. has scheduled his next shot to be 1 mo. from now. If it's not working now it's not going to get any better next month, right?
If your afraid of getting pregnant, you can always ahve your tubes tied if he wond get his done, or go on birth control again, but with the tri-cyclic modern regimines have better effictiveness and lower negitive sexual and emotional side Effects. I guess you can start sliping cushed Provera pills into his food to calm his sexual lusts.. lol.. just kidding..
I switched because I found I was having side Effects within the past 6 months or so - same thing happened with my sister - no side Effects until a couple years in... weird. What I was experiencing was night sweats occasionally (my sister was getting them every night - and couldn't handle it - so she went off) It was annoying but not bad. Then I noticed a decrease in sex drive, and a few other things that i feel may have been associated, but I'm not sure.
My side Effects were hot flashes, moodiness, breast tenderness, cramping, fatigue, nausea, and extreme hunger which lead to weight gain and I'm still feeling those side Effects. Since so many of those side Effects are symptoms of pregnancy it was very upsetting to find out I didn't ovulate and I'm not pregnant. Hoping for better results next cycle...
But, progesterone cannot be patented and so the company that makes Premarin came up with a Progestin, as Katie pointed out, and they called it Provera (Depo Provera is a relative of this). The two drugs together, Premarin and Provera, Equal Prempro. It is now theorized that the Progestins are what helps create the big mess in the synthetic world of hormones. The snythetic estrogens are not great either ( I, like you, would only use a bio estrogen like Vivelle) but that Progestin is nasty.
and had it taken out because i was getting irritable very easily and moody i was on the copper IUD and was told there was no side Effects my question is how true is this stateMent . i just want to find out if there is a link between all of the sympyoms and if any to the birth control .
