Avatar n tn Depo Provera is costing me my relationship with my husband. After 7 years married (today) he confessed to me to be emotionally drained... wow... that's because we never have sex. And when we do it feels to me like a job. I don't enjoy it, I want it to be over fast. I definitely NOT GETTING my next shot. I guess I'll go back to the pill =/ Being a woman is a wonderful thing, but chemical birth control *****. Good luck to the ones that keep trying.
4069776 tn?1349521984 Hello, I was on depo provera for 9 years, I had my last shot in Jan 2012 and was suppose to come get my next shot April 2012, My doctor informed me that it would be fine for me to just stop taking it because I did so well while I was on it and that I should be fine coming off of it, well I didnt. I had horrible side effects from July and they are still happening now, I have had every test done (ultrasounds, blood test, endoscopes, ect.) and everything came back normal.
Avatar m tn It doesn't sound like you're pregnant. Every symptom you described is side effects of the depo, as well as pregnancy. But you've also had periods and negative blood work. When women get worried about something and fixated on a problem (which is what it sounds like has happened to you) they tend to notice even the smallest things their bodies do and increase it. It's like with a headache. While you're distracted you might not notice it as much, but if you think about it the pain is a lot worse.
Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced any bad side effects from the hcg shots? I am administering them myself and just want to know what to look out for.
Avatar n tn I just went off the depo shot a few weeks ago because I had serious side effects! I didn't realize it until I went to different doctors trying to find out what was wrong with me. Every test I got back was fine which was frustrating because I knew something wasn't right in my body. I had severe stomach problems that would brought me to the emergency room one night. I have a perfectly healthy stomach so it was strange that I kept getting sick.
Avatar n tn days when I can barely function and have also experienced symptoms of hypoglycemia and panic attacks and or crying jags for no reason. I have been reading a lot about the Depo side effects some women have had and they mirror mine. I've had a thyroid test and it was fine, so I don't think that I'm diabetic. I have been trying to eat well and clense with milk thistle to try to hasten the exit of the Depo.
Avatar n tn the first week i did not experience very bad side effects the usual nausea headache stuff. then the second week very bad moodiness, depression, anxiety. friday night i was rushed to the ER due to a severe panic attack. i thought i was going to die. i have never had anything so awful happen to me. now that i have read others comments everything is adding up. i was suffering severe side effects due to Yaz. the ER dr. told me to keep taking but i will never put Yaz in my system again.
Avatar n tn Well, in February 2006, after having a Laparoscopy and a discussion with the Gynaecologist I went for DEPO. WOW… I got the side effects, gain weight, swing moods, I even forgotten the rucksack on a train station when on holiday in Fort William…cool…I was crying from nothing, shooting to my husband for nothing, having periods now and then, spots, bleeding, etc, etc.
Avatar n tn As long as you are on Depo, there is no amount of exercise, pill, weight loss shots, and caloric restriction that will help lose weight. Really. The hormones from the Depo put you in a permanent false state of pregnancy. This means you will hold water, fat, etc because your body has been given a hormone that kicks in to cause a primitive instinct to help the fetus survive, even though there is no fetus! It also changes your body chemistry.
1160836 tn?1332333769 My doctor thought it was enviormental (exercise, stress...etc) as I just started to go do body pump right around that time. Every cycle before that was 30-31 days to the day!! So we will see.....

Avatar n tn of course some people are different. I was on two shots of Depo and then went on BCP because the Depo made me bleed 3 months straight almost. Nov 04 I started BCP and then in Aug 05 I decided to stop because my husband and I were TTC. I have not had a period since Aug, except twice and that was with the help of Provera. Month after month gets frustrating. Best of Luck to you!!
Avatar n tn (not this one) Okay, now, my concern is the effcts after STOPPING yasmin. I understand that all bc pills are different and so are we women as far as side effects go. I have read postings about women who stopped taking yasmin and have experienced the following: - anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations and fluttering - depression - excessive weight gain - hair loss *I already have a prob. with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, so I am currently on medication.
Avatar n tn The best person to see is a neurologist specializing in headache, or at a headache center, such as the Cleveland Clinic Headache Center. They can differentiate benign from non-benign headache and provide appropraite treatment for both the headache and the other symptoms.
312323 tn?1193300534 Hi my name is Roxann and this is my story. I hope I can find a lawer or someone else with the same symptoms so that I know im not crazy.
Avatar n tn Didn't know it was a shot which may be enough to deter me from taking it. Now you mention that the side effects and I'm wondering if I should just continue taking the pill and take my chances. My husband and I are probably going to try to get pregnant within 6-9 months, so I am trying to do a cost/benefit analysis here. I really don't want to take anything that may make my life a living hell again. Headaches-I get bad ones anyway!
1838686 tn?1324010389 Weight gain, pregnancy like symptoms, disruption of your menstrual cycle, headache, dizziness, and decreased sex drive. Give your body some time to adjust and if you experience too many annoying side effects, I would advise switching to a different B/C. However, I am not a HUGE fan of B/C. I believe that wearing a condom and using a spermicidal gel is B/C enough (my own opinion, of course) Good luck sweetie!

Avatar n tn I just had an abortion using the ru-486 pills, and got the depo provera shot at the same time. I know because of the abortion im suppose to bleed for about 2 weeks. but ive been bleeding for a month now, heavy at times. at times big blood clumps. Is this normal. is it because of the abortion or the shot? will the bleeding stop? i also get depressed at times, i feel tired, i think cuz of loss of blood, irritated. im sure from the depo provera. is there anything that can counteract this shot?
Avatar f tn I had the hot flashes and night sweats. plus one of the side effects was headaches. I got such a bad migrain headache I was rushed to the hospital because it looked like I was having a stroke. Nothing seemed to work and I didn't get much relief. I was even taking two birth controls everyother week to try to get the bleeding to stop. Cause after my daughter my problems didn't go away or get better they got worse.
Avatar n tn I was on Alesse for a year and everything went wrong with my body, I had more yeast infections than I've ever had in my life and hot flashes, trouble sleeping I gained like 15 pounds on it and I had a bunch of other side effects. So I stoped the pill and got a copper IUD. If you are having problems with bc pills, then don't do the Shot it would be triple what you have on the pills. Go with something milder like the nuvaring or an IUD.
Avatar n tn A neurologist has done an MRI on my brain, spine and neck, with results coming back normal. I have a weird feeling on the right side of my head, it feels like something pulling or a tightness in my brain. Sometimes I have numbness and tigling in my face, around mt lips. I also have twitching in my left arm, you can watch it jump, and it is painful at times. My right side feels like it is halfway numb and tingling a lot of the time.
Avatar f tn Now you still can have endometriosis, while having an endometrioma. I have had both, I still suffer from endomeriosis, and was previously on Depo-Provera, however I am in childbearing years and would like to think of that as a possibility, so I have discontinued the use of depo. I sure am paying for it though! There are GnHR therapies, birth control, surgery, and analgesics. It really depends on what you would like to do and your future plans.
