Avatar n tn Depo Provera is costing me my relationship with my husband. After 7 years married (today) he confessed to me to be emotionally drained... wow... that's because we never have sex. And when we do it feels to me like a job. I don't enjoy it, I want it to be over fast. I definitely NOT GETTING my next shot. I guess I'll go back to the pill =/ Being a woman is a wonderful thing, but chemical birth control *****. Good luck to the ones that keep trying.
Avatar n tn depo provera effects every one different. when i was on it, it stopped my af all together. however when my mother in law went on it she had af for an entire month. you long bleeding could be your body trying to clear out your system from delivery. if it persists give the doc a call and ask. there are no stupid questions.
Avatar n tn I´ve been taking depo provera every 11 weeks for the last 10 years. I have not had a period for the entire time. I am going to be 30 years old in October and have decided that I want to have a baby with my boyfriend. Will my level of fertility or chances of pregnancy be affected because of the prolonged use of this drug. I hear 3 years is considered prolonged- I´ve been on it for 10.
Avatar f tn i have tried everything, from lupron, to laparoscopies, to yaz, to smoking marijuana - currently i am on Depo Provera and have been for the past year and a half. I am noticing a lot of side affects from this as time goes on, and unfortunately for me this has been the only thing that even remotely helps, and i still have a lot of pain.
Avatar n tn Despite what docs reassure you, please READ THE SIDE EFFECTS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS OF DEPO PROVERA ON THEIR SITE!! Here are some things you may not have been told: * antibiotics DO decrease the effect of any birth control, whether it is oral, topical, or by injection. * bleeding can and does occur during pregnancy, and esp.
Avatar f tn Some days it’s light and some days it’s heavy. I don’t know if it’s my period or just withdrawal bleeding from that one Depo shot. On 2/5/18, I had sex for the first time since November while I was spotting lightly. We used a condom and it broke at some point and he kept going for like a minute and put another one on till he finished. He says he didn’t *** in me but I am not sure. It’s been 3 days since it happened. Today I started getting bad cramps in my stomach...should I get plan b....
Avatar f tn I had only taken one depo provera shot and was due to have my second one between June 30 and July 13, I didn't take the second one. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex July 2nd-5th every day. Is it possible that I'm pregnant? I have had slight bleeding almost every day since but it recently stopped, it was just like spotting, not a flow, only a tinge of color when wiping. I am having many symptoms of pregnancy (nausea, extreme fatigue, headaches, bleeding gums, etc).
Avatar f tn i decided to not go on any other birth control for awhile. What are the side effects of coming off the Depo Provera and is it ok to not be on any birthcontrol at all for awhile??

Avatar n tn You don't have a period, Huh? I had a shot & I'm having my period now. I hate this drug. The side effects say you can still have periods & also break thru bleeding. I don't need it for birth control. I have a hormonal imbalance which I've had since I began my periods. It's ruining our sex life, too.
4069776 tn?1349521984 I am wondering if any one else is going through Depo Provera withdrawals? I was on it for 9 years and recently me and my husband decided to go off of it since we knew that this form of birth control can take up to 18 months if you are ttc. i was due for my shot in April and when the time came I went to my doctor to discuss getting off of it and the possible side effect or problems that I might encounter. He basically assured me that nothing will happen because I did so well while I was on it.
Avatar n tn I had been on the Depo Provera shot for about 12 months. My last one was in February. I stopped having a period by my second dose. For various reasons, I had decided not to continue with the shots. However, I still have not had a period and I am having tender breasts, cramps, bloating etc a couple of times a month, as if I am going to get a period, but it never comes. My "PMS" symptoms seem worse than they ever did before Depo or while on it.
Avatar n tn I dont think it's depo. I had horrible side effects from it, and was on it for 3 yrs. before I got off. (I gained 50lbs. migraines too,but had no choice.) I had been on a high risk med for my skin condition, it stayes in the system for 3 yrs. after stopping the med. Well, I got off, and got AF the month of my skipped shot. I used nuvaring for 3 mo. and then stopped for 3 mo to used natural fertility awareness. Then DH decided to jump me 3 days before ovulation and didn't p/o. so...
Avatar n tn The docotors believe I may have a progesterone problem due to Depo Provera. I was on Depo for 6 years and went off the shot in Sept. Does anyone know if the effects of this shot can linger and cause lower progesterone levels?
Avatar n tn Well, here goes nothing. I have been on depo provera for over 8 years. I have signed up for a forum for people who are trying to concieve after depo and have had some great support. I have been reading alot your posts and replied to a few. I am told that it could take as long as 2 years before I can get pregnant. I don't think I have ovulated yet. Last shot was August 4, 2006. Usually you take the shots every 3 months since it is possible to get pg if it is taken too late.

Avatar n tn Hi, I am 17, I am on Depo Provera and am having side effects such as constant bleeding (1 month and half) and the common mood changes. I was told that if I take estrogen I can minimize the bleeding or even stop it...However I was informed by a nurse that due to breast cancer running in my family if I starting to take an estrogen pill so early it can potentially make my risk of breast cancer even higher for the future.
Avatar f tn Hi dr. I have a month bleeding supposably from de depp privera shot side effects. And i been having sex like that with my husband. Could it be a risk of me getting an std? Because we have unprotected sex.
193609 tn?1292183893 I have heard a lot about negative aspects of the Depo provera shot! Has anyone had a good experience?? One doc says I can have it, and another says No, so I am just wondering your opinions!!! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Ive had the iud, the pill, the implant and now the shot. I dnt knoe what to do. Has anyone had this side effects with the shot and how have you dealt with it.
Avatar m tn Since she has recently started with the depo shots, it may take side effects of depo shot to subside within 3 months. But if she is bleeding continuously then it may cause anemia for which I suggest you to consult her gynecologist. She may prescribe medicines like hormonal contracpetives and tranexemic acid to stop bleeding. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Hi there! While the irregular bleeding could be related to the depo-provera,; bleeding during sexual intercourse is unlikely to be related. I would suggest an evaluation by your gynaecologist to look into the possibility of secondary causes like trauma/ injuries, ulceration, erosions, infections, growths/ masses etc. After a cause is diagnosed, it can be treated accordingly. Hope this helps. Take care!
432411 tn?1206475709 I was on Depo Provera for BC for 8 years with no side effects but headaches, which were manageable. Also had no periods, which was great! However, I became ill when I stopped having the injections at age 45. I experienced fatigue, joint pain and swelling, and depression. I was tested for everything from Lyme disease and Lupus, to thyroid conditons - all negative. My Dr. finally gave up and diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue syndrome.
Avatar m tn I had to write you, i was on Depo- Provera for 3 years , i do not like that medication , for starters while on the med , i didnt get my period at all , and thats common, i know alot of woman would say that there happy not to get it, but i think its healthy for your body to get your period, also once i stopped the depo i didnt get my period back for 2 years, Now my husband and I are trying to have a baby, i was on depo like 10 years ago, If you have any other questions about it just PM me, i was
Avatar n tn He came back saying that this doctor had been studying it, and found no proof that there is a correlation to calcium loss and depo provera use. I got back on depo in January. I've now had my period pretty bad for about 10 days. Two months ago, I had it for 29 days. This isn't normal for me either. I've never had this. I'm getting annoyed. Ruined underthings because I have no clue when it will happen. I wish there was something out there that you could take.
