cymbalta and trazodone

I have come off of a lot of my medications. My final meds are Wellbutrin, Trazodone and Cymbalta. The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean.

I have been taking Trazodone and Cymbalta for anxiety. The Trazodone helps with the sleep at night, it sedates me and I sleep ok. However when I take naps the issue still happens every time. I am wondering if anyone can direct me to the possible solution.

then the tmj stuff happened and cymbalta is a drug used for that...it also affects all the Nts..so i had to switch and give it a try...the cymbalta is making me very sleepy even at a low dose of 20 mg....i have to skip a day here and there because of it but am going to try and see if i can adjust.......if i dont adjust i am going back to the wellbutrin ..i do know if u do not take an AD that is for the NT (nuerotransmitter) that u r deficient in it will not work...

Hi, The affordable alternatives to Lyrica are -Neurontin ,Topamax and Cymbalta. Since you have had no relief from Topamax, you can try the other two . if still you feel no better ,please consult your neurologist to suggest an alternative.Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !

New Dr put me In hospital for 3 days and took away Xanax and added vistaril 25mg 3 times day,neurontin 300mg @ bedtime,trazodone 100mg @ bedtime and up dose to 90mg cymbalta. Getting worse so saw Dr. and up dose on trazodone and vistaril. Still not better up dose on Geodon. Still worse with bad panic attacks,tardive dyskinesia, anger and rage, hot as fire most time. Can't take no more. And hallucinations. Dr. Said Xanax would make me worse(but helped) for years.

What dosage are you going to try with Trazedone? Traz works wonders for me. I'm currently on Cymbalta but was having some sleeping problems. I tried zopiclone (my god that stuff was nasty) but never felt rested. My doctor prescribed me 50mgs of trazodone to treat the symptoms of depression... key word there... symptoms. 50mgs is a LOW dose. I take it at night. I don't even recall the last time I've slept so well. I'm completely off any benzos because of trazodone.

I ran a check on the ones you listed and came up with the interaction between Cymbalta and trazodone - it says there is an increased risk of serotonin syndorme. Some of the symptoms of serotonin syndrome are: Cognitive effects: headache, agitation, hypomania, mental confusion, hallucinations, coma Autonomic effects: shivering, sweating, hyperthermia, hypertension, tachycardia, nausea, diarrhea. Somatic effects: myoclonus (muscle twitching), hyperreflexia (manifested by clonus), tremor.

I have followed your advice and talked to my dr about your alternatives. I have tried SSRI's in the past (3 different ones Milnacipran, Prozac and Citalopram) and they just didn't kick in. Since the remeron had such a good effect on me except for the weight gain, he tried to stay in the same family. He prescribed me trazodone but I had an allergic reaction to it, my heart was bouncing out of my chest.

Hi all, I'm a 28 y/o male and I've had a history of panic attacks (on 40mg Celexa for it). I've been pretty good, but about 2 weeks ago I came into a bout of insomnia (stress from work and grad school). My doc wrote me a scrip for 150mg of Trazodone. I've never had Trazodone before and the literature I've read seems to indicate 150mg out of nowhere is a high dose. Opinions? Anyone worked with this stuff before?

I just began a Cymbalta (30mg/day) treatment regimen, and coincidently ran out of clonazepam one week later. Rather than wait in the ER for 4 hours to see a doc, I am waiting for my next scheduled psychiatric appointment for a refill. It's been two weeks now, and my appointment is in another 2 weeks. I was prescribed .5mg/X2/day (morning & night) of Clonazepam (along with Trazodone (150mg at bedtime) for insomnia.

Hi , I have just been put on TRAZODONE for anxiety and depression. The doctor took me off PAROXATINE as it was interacting with IMIGRAN for migraine headaches which I have been having at regular periods since being taken off AMITRIPTYLINE which prevents migraines in small doses. 25mgs to 75mgs. I was taken off AMITRIPTYLINE as I was getting a lot of side affect BUT i slept better on it. I took my first dose of TRAZODONE 50 mlg last night which is suppost to help paitients sleep better.

Hi, Sorry for your husbands troubles. Obviously they are yours too. I'm not a doctor so take my words as that of a novice, but who has dealt personally with some of this and been on this or that medicine. First, I''m not sure what kind of doctor (hope you are seeing a psychiatrist for this) prescribes so many medications right off. Something, I would think would be buildt up to if one or two did not work. Secondly, not sure of the reason for the mix he is on.

i'm on a regiment of lithium, cymbalta, seroquel and lamagotrine. my meds and dose has been the same over the last year.over the last six months i've been havinf memory issues - forgetting where i am, forgetting names, if my wife says get the vacuum i bring a broom, i can't think of words, etc. doc has been doing lots of test to rule out physical issues. blood work and mri are fine. now finished some cognitive and emotional testing.

Hello iam new here I am taking tramadol 50 mgs,neurontin 300mg,hydrocodon-acetaminoph,a pain patch of 25mcg/hr and cymbalta 90 mg. And my Dr. Wants me to take effexor xr 75mg in lu of cymbalta (the cymbalta was given to me by a shrink for pain control) but I am told that effexor xr n tramadol don't mix.

Do you take any antidepressants? I also take Effexor XR and Cymbalta which regulate my anxiety very well and has nearly fully restored my ability to sleep which I had all but lost just a few months ago. I started out taking 10mg of the immediate release Ambien, which worked well at first, and then lost it's effectiveness after a couple of months. I actually started taking the Effexor to treat depression and found that after a few days of treatment, I was sleeping like a rock.

I was just like that and my pdoc put me on Concerta and the problem disappeared. (I was also on an antidepressant, Cymbalta, however it wasn't quite doing the job.) I hated it when I had to give it up. I switched from Cymbalta to an MAOI, Emsam patch, and Concerta conflicted with it.

that's a really low dose of Ativan and Ativan generally takes quite awhile to take effect, possibly an hour or two. I've tried trazodone too and that doesn't do much either - it's an antidepressant with sedation as a side effect, so they figure it will work but a lot of times it doesn't. If the trazodone doesn't work don't bother with it.

t need the Klonopin but for tonight,just take the trazodone and ask the doctor about it in the morning. The trazodone will get you drowsy so I wouldn't take them together.

I would avoid wheat entirely, it's pro-inflammatory. Brown rice, teff, quinoa, tons of good grains out there to eat, and yes, whole grains are the way to go, they have the fiber still on them which helps with IBS. I wouldn't take medication for IBS since it tends to repress acid, but your stomach just makes more in order to digest protein. Try drinking a few ounces of aloe juice every day and take digestive enzymes. If you crave meat, eat it, but only naturally raised.

hey im a 20 year old male. i have anxiety/ hypochondria/ depression etc. the doc put me on 50mg Zoloft i have been on it for about 8 days and its giving me insomnia. I took zoloft about 2 years ago and it did this briefly and then quit (hoping it will stop again). The doc thought about putting me on Cymbalta instead but i went with the Zoloft since i had taken it before and it was "okay"/ some positve help..

I used to have audio hallucinations a long time ago before I was stabilized but all of a sudden I am starting to hear voices. I am not schizophrenic or psychotic (yet). I have Bipolar Disorder and have been going thru a lot of stress lately. My theraist siad it was just a symptom at this point and it is probably caused by stress. She told me to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse to tell my mental health care provider... I have an appointment with her on Sept 7th.

My wife has been taking Paxil for several years now and I have noticed several major changes in her. First she has no sexual desire at all anymore. None. Second she has lost almost all compassion. It is like most of her emotions have gone. Last thing I have noticed is weight gain. I would say 40 lbs in the last couple years.Any ideas for help?
